In this video, I show you how to replace a Mazda Miata MX-5 key fob battery (2006-2013 models). This tutorial is for the flip key and will definitely work for other Mazda models that use the same type of keyless entry remote.

Note, there is another variant of this key fob and came with my 2005 Gen 2. For that (earlier) variant, also made by Visteon, the shell removal points are not at the peak, but left and right, requiring a narrow screwdriver. Other videos show that particular fob and you may need to work the seams a bit to get the portion covering the battery loosened. Both of my fobs are now ready for future years of usage.

No, CR 2032 is too big. Its CR1620.

Hey... It would have been very very easy for you to tell us the type of battery in this video!! I read in the comments that it's a CR1620... Who wants to know how to replace a battery without knowing the type of new batter to get? The CR1620 is hard to find. I have to order it online. You said nothing about this. Are you going to have a separate video for that? And, then maybe another separate video for how to snip your fingernails.
