The anime that I think of as a romance anime is Say I Love You. The way the main characters, Mei Tachibana and Yamato Kurusawa, get together (she spin kicks him down the stairs) and their romance despite their differences is both gut wrenching and hilarious. It has everything from school friends, ex-girlfriends, misunderstandings on both sides…it’s a beautiful story that I’ve watched a few times. I was surprised it wasn’t on the list, to be honest.

Kaguya-sama reminds me a little bit of Kare Kano, except the female lead is tsundere while the male lead is a mix of both tsundere and yandere. Kimi ni todoke is an absolute gem! Sawako is ADORABLE and Kazehaya is the right love interest to slowly get her to come out of her own shell.
Missing Komi-San. Yes, I'm aware the anime has yet to reach the actual romance part of the manga, but I can assure you the romance is handled well, and I hope the anime does it justice when it eventually gets to that. (No hate comments please)
kimi ni todoke has so many different genres that are so well done and explored,sawako is an absolute precious girl who needs to be protected at all costs.kazehaya is one of the biggest greenest flags.

Even though I am happy to see some of my Favorite Romance Anime Shows on this list, it's such a shame that Inuyasha, Yona of the Dawn, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale or Naruto didn't make it on this List. Naruto and Hinata's Relationship was Beautiful and Heartwarming to watch!
There's a handful on this list that were so frustrating to watch. It keeps building up and building up but it never peaks. I just want a satisfying ending. I like Horimiya because you can actually feel that their relationship is going somewhere.

Hot take: As a 25 year old girl, I’m actually getting bored of shoujo romance. I don’t know why but I felt disinterested in some of the shoujo romance anime I’ve seen so far and a lot of the male leads I wasn’t a huge fan of. They’re either boring or annoy me. And a lot of my favourite romance anime are from non-shoujos so I feel like I’m getting bored of it.

Inuyasha is a Shoujo , historical, fantasy , and fighting anime that are not focused on romance.
From the looks of it, all they included was more 'modern' shojo. Only a few here have 'magical elements'.
