I understand why boris uses his instrumental versions more though, uamee's songs went pretty hipster in the last months.. I like the old ones a lot more. Before it was 'wodka and cheeki breeki' , now it's more of a 'alkohol free beer and veganism' vibe to me (just my personal opinion).
My 60+ year old mother asks me about twice a week “any Boris videos?”. Your cooking reminds her of her Slavic upbringing. She’s cried through a few videos. Especially the plum dumplings video. Many tissues and “that’s not how Baka made it...”
This is why I became a fan of Boris. Some of his videos hit close to home for me too. We ate doctors sausage (we call it parizer here) and blins all my childhood, and sunflower seeds were a common snack. We also had a Lada because we were poor. But still, good memories. Oh and I forgot the chocolate sausage, we loved that!
