Hi! Loved your video! I’d like to offer a correction on something you said…your soap isn’t “curing” faster. You only sped up the saponification process. Soaps still need to cure 4-6 weeks before usage. Other than that, great job!

How do you do a water reduction? Do you have a set amount to go by?

You need to put your recipe on the soap cal. I use www.soapcalc.net then you can choose what percentage of water you want your recipe to have. It sounds very complicated and It kind of is so I recommend you to do your research because I'm no expert on this topic. There's a bunch of helpful info on google about this topic. Thanks for watching.

Hi I just came across your videos and I am obsessed lol currently viewing them all. Really quick question I am just beginning to make soap but how long do you let yours cure?
I've heard you say you use a water reduction to help with curing. So you use less water in the lye?

Hi! I'm so happy you are here! Welcome :) I let my soaps cure from 3 to 4 weeks. Water reductions are tricky because they can accelerate your batter faster. Thats why I'm always freaking out! lol Less water is used to mix your lye but please do extensive research on how to do this before proceeding. I'm not an expert, I consider myself still a beginner so I cannot give too much advise on that. When using less water it takes a bit less time to cure. Hope this helps! I'm glad you're enjoying my content :)
