I did this with frozen beef from the freezer that I had no idea what to do with. I just slice it up a bit smaller than the ribs and use a wok since I have no instant pot. It still became saucy beef and taste good. Nice recipe!
this recipe is great! I didn’t have star anise, cinnamon, hoisin sauce, or shallots but it came out great. I added sambal olek for some spice, even if you don’t have every ingredient follow the steps and it’ll turn out great!

This method of boiling the meat then taking off the lid to reduce the juices till thick really is the best on any meat and makes the meat tender and falling off the bone . I do this with chicken .

I like how detailed your instructions on cooking always. Tried this recipe and turned out so well. Just that was using gas type pressure cooker, so water dried up more but still very delicious. Tqqq.
Just made this tonight for dinner.. It was a hit. Thank you so much for sharing! I used Country Style ribs, and the flavor was fantastic. Tender, juicy, and flavorful!
Directions: Heat up some oil and brown the ribs, about 1 minute each side. Use multi-cooker set to open lid cooking. If you don't have a multi-cooker, use a normal pot. Remove ribs from the pot. Add more oil to the pot. To the pot, add star anise, cinnamon, ginger, shallots, garlic, and chillies. Stir fry for 1 minute. Add Chinese rice wine, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and rice wine vinegar. Bring to a boil and add in ribs, bone-side up. Add enough water to cover the ribs (3 cm above ribs). Put lid of pressure cooker on. Cook for 40 minutes. Release steam from pressure cooker, and carefully open lid. Set cooker to open lid cooking and simmer until sauce is reduced and sticky, approximately 15 minutes. When the sauce coats the back of a spoon, it is done. Enjoy. Ingredients: 500g of prime ribs (you can also use spare ribs or beef ribs) 1 piece star anise 1 piece of cinnamon bark (5 - 7 cm) 1 thumb size young ginger - minced 2 pieces shallots minced 4 cloves of garlic - minced 3 pieces dried chilli, rehydrated and deseeded 1 cup of Chinese rice wine 2 tablespoons of brown sugar 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce 2 tablespoons of low sodium light soy sauce 2 tablespoons of premium dark soy sauce 2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar (or apple cider) Enough water to cover the ribs

Tried these Pork Ribs they are so yummy. Followed all the instructions as stated. I add extra chilli's cause u like spice. Cooked in a slow cooker. Fall off the bone going to make it again definitely. Thank you
Thank you chef, came out good not as good as yours, but i will have to practice it again, but the taste was definitely there!, i think i put too much water and took 30m minutes plus to reduce ,but still could not get the consistency you had, then the meat started to crumble off the bone. But taste wise it was great. I will do again and nail it, Thank you for the recipe chef!!! Regards, Rene . Sarasota, Florida . USA

For the first time, my very picky dad liked something I cooked! I can tell my family get hungry every time the aroma of the star anise & cinnamon comes steaming from the (manual) pressure cooker. I love it when the sauce starts to reduce and gets darker & darker on the wok, concentrating the flavors on that sticky addicting stuff! Thank you Spice N' Pans! :)
@@spicenpans His & my nephew's approval felt so rewarding! I used to cook many things for them but they never quite liked it and my dad can be so blunt. But this recipe! I mean I had to turn down his request for me to cook it on Tuesday (& I just cooked it last Sunday) bec. I wanted to reserve it on Sundays, the family day! *NB: I can't find Chinese cooking wine, so I use Apple Juice instead :)
Cooked this for dinner last night...amazing! The meat from the ribs just simply fell off when I was just removing them from the multi cooker with the tong. Very delicious! Thanks for the awesome recipe!
It isn't easy to make flavorful foods from a pressure cooker. I see all the aromatics that you've added and flavor shouldn't be an issue after cooking it. I see how easily the meat falls off the bone! Looks wonderful! Thank you for the presentation of your Chinese Style Ribs!

Just made this tonight for dinner.. It was a hit. Thank you so much for sharing! I used Country Style ribs, and the flavor was fantastic. Tender, juicy, and flavorful!
Directions:
Heat up some oil and brown the ribs, about 1 minute each side.
Enjoy.
Ingredients:
500g of prime ribs (you can also use spare ribs or beef ribs)

Thank you chef, came out good not as good as yours, but i will have to practice it again, but the taste was definitely there!, i think i put too much water and took 30m minutes plus to reduce ,but still could not get the consistency you had, then the meat started to crumble off the bone. But taste wise it was great. I will do again and nail it, Thank you for the recipe chef!!! Regards, Rene . Sarasota, Florida . USA
I've been try cook this recipe when Chinese new year , I invite all my family's husband to my house for eat and they're like so much ,3 kilo of rib finish all , thank you for recipe. Greetings from MEXICO !!!
Woohooz!! Thank you so much for using our recipe, pg. Glad to know that your dad enjoyed it. What a win!! This feels good. Thank you so much!
I made your dish exactly as you said and it came out perfect. It was delicious and I'm a black sista from Louisiana 🥰
Thanks

Thank you so much for using our recipe, Natal. We’re so happy to know that you enjoyed this recipe. Yippee!!
It isn't easy to make flavorful foods from a pressure cooker. I see all the aromatics that you've added and flavor shouldn't be an issue after cooking it. I see how easily the meat falls off the bone! Looks wonderful! Thank you for the presentation of your Chinese Style Ribs!
You’re most welcome, Linda. Happy new year to you!
This was so great and was amazing for feeding my family. Me and my daughter had a fun time making it and would 💯 recommend ☺️☺️

Thank you sir! What a great recipe, will make for my family on the weekend. Do you know if pork “short ribs” go by the same name in Australia? What should I look for when buying at butcher?
Hihi. You can get any parts of the ribs. No problem. Just get those within your preferred Budget. They will all do fine. Happy cooking 🤓🤓
Made this last week. It was the best recipe so far for pork ribs. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for using our recipe. Glad that you enjoyed it 🤓🤓🤓
Hi, if I’m not using a pressure cooker, how long do I need to cook the ribs?
About an hour to 90 mins. You can cook until they reach the tenderness you like. Happy cooking! Sorry for our late reply
Philomena Tann TH for asking that question :)
i made these a couple months ago and forgot where the recipe was (what platform, who made it, EVERYTHING). i remembered the first couple steps but nothing else! I rejoiced once i saw your video thumbnail. These were so good. i think of them often and have a batch cooking right now.
Thank you for the great recipe. 🥰
