I don't have an oven, but I really wanted to try this so I cooked this on stovetop + did some modifications in prep and cooking method, slow fire, and OH MY GOD. Zero regrets. 'Delicious' is an understatement. the taste is nothing I have tasted before and the way the sauce clung to the chicken was just so yummy 😋 will def do this again. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

@@nusraatmohaimin6076 i just braised the chicken in the sauce, with a little water added (1/4 cup or less) so it wont burn. Did it over low heat. I flipped the chicken parts every 15 mins for like 45 mins-1hr, then if the sauce isnt that thick, thicken it on medium fire. Of course, the final output wont entirely be the same but at least the sauce's taste is there. Perhaps using a torch can give those scorches or smth.

I did this with pork and it turns out great
    Double the ingredients
Remove the pork skin and bones.
I only put a TSP of dark soysauce and a TSP of finely grated garlic and ginger though
And cook it in the oven roast for 160c in 2 and half hours
    It's so good

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THIS! I don't have an oven so I tried this by pan searing the skin side first then flipping and braising it with the remaining sauce on low simmer. Man, it is the most amazing looking chicken I've ever attempted to make so far even without the food colouring. The taste is somewhat similar to soy sauce chicken, yet the ngohiong and honey gave different hint of taste. I'll definitely put this on my recook list.

I learned a good trick here:
Bubble the marinade in a saucepan... .
I always kept the marinade in the freezer (because it is a terrible thing to waste food) and sometimes I would "re-use it" by combining it into other dishes.
Which is a widdle bit dangerous.
Obviously giving it a good bubble in the sauce pan (then you can freeze it) is an excellent solution.
    Thaks

Here's my experience when i tried this.
After 15 mins, the chicken had too much moisture so its was broiling, not roasted in the oven. My chicken was at uppermost rack of oven so i put it onto the lowest and had another go for 10 mins.
I poured the juices into another bowl and put it back in at the lowest rack for another 8 mins. It still didnt look cripsy enough so i increased tje temp to 220°C for another 10 and that seemed to do the trick.
I also brushed the top n bottom part of the chop with honey.
The sauce, i heated it up as per video and also added 5 birdeye chilli to temper the sweetness and make the sauce fiery.
My take is that the initial temp should be higher but maybe its just my oven🤗

Sha, just tried your recipe! I had 1.5kgs of chicken thighs so I multiplied all the ingredients. Had to cut down on the brown sugar though - it was just too much 😀. Anyway the family LUVED it (there were requests for seconds). If I were to use pork, what would be the settings for oven temperature and bake time?

Nice video and definitely a winning recipe - I would even throw the pan drippings into the dipping sauce when the chicken comes out of the oven. Would also work well with spareribs or even a whole pork tenderloin.
