Phylicia is one of our reigning Queens and is one of the most Regal, impressive, beautiful, and socially important images of Black womanhood our media has exposed to the world!
She is truly talented! I interviewed her for a play she directed in Los Angeles "Joe Turner's Come & Gone" by August Wilson. Everyone from Angela Bassett to Kym Whitley all said they where there to see....HER: PHYLICIA RASHAD!
@1:23 Quiet and country? Definitely from America. Besides, what does that even matter? How are you people overseeing that radiance and all that elegance; it's just so powerful!!
@09ACBrown If women aren't brought down all the time like this, maybe it'll be better. Women aren't made because, shocker, we aren't objects, we are human beings.
As soon as I heard this on the Solange album, I had to see this performance again. I was young when I first heard it and it went over my head then, but now nothing rings truer. Such a beautiful poem. 💕
@dlpaul345 Actually, as a Student Ambassador, I know for a fact that she not only graduated from Howard in 1970 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, but she was also a Howard University Campus Pal and member of the Alpha Chapter of AKA Sorority, Inc. Her Wikipedia page, answers.com page, imdb page, tvguide.com page, the fact that she constantly visits Howard, and the picture of her posted in Locke Hall on Howard's campus all verify this. I'm sorry that you were misinformed.
When Phylicia Rashad talks... you LISTEN!

Jamaica Love 😍😍Yes ma'am,you do!!

Jamaica Love you

It doesn't matter being beautiful.
I can't help but think of her as family because we all grew up with her. She is so amazing, whatever she does :)
She made me cry in the Raisin in the Sun (play). I dare say, she played that part better than the original actress.
her and Bernadette stains are the most beautiful woman in the industry in my opinion
So true... As a Senegalese who has spent most of her adult life abroad, I can relate... Home is where love is...

Her sprit is just lovely. I love her! Such a lady!
No wonder she was America's favorite mom for so many years.
She was my mom, and Uncle Phil was my pops. Straight up.
Her mother was a phenomenal poet. Good God, her imperfect rhyme has a pull!
