Nice little machine. I could watch it running all day long. That young operator is operating it like a champ.

Some boys never left the sandbox for dinner. This is so cool watching big working Tonka toys operated by men still boys inside.

Nice video my great old B. E. friend. Please film Showing one of the Lever control patterns. Then set camera behind you so we can see you pulling/pushing Levers. The Foot work on Drum brakes. I find it so interesting to watch. I Remember the early Hydraulic Hoes. The LS LinkBelts. The foot work on different functions. The SWING being a forward and back motion with hands. I find it so interesting to watch a guy control the boom so it doesn't just start to drop. The mind memory control of using your FEET and pulling on those big Levers. Never gets old for me in my Humble opinion to watch. You are a Hero to repair this old iron. Make it DIG again. Thank you so much for your hard, time consuming work. The Machine Love you too. Instead of them just being forgotten, Rusting away. They live another day. Moving Earth.

Ill see what i can do with filming an in cab video and i can go over the controls in this one also. Could pretty much do this with every machine since they are all a little different.

I'm glad you settled in to a rhythm. Initially it was all a bit frenzied. When you were dealing with those roots I almost expected a "Tremors" worm to erupt out of the bank.

only one small stump and a lot of rock. some of those rocks, when they're in a cluster can be hard to move. hopefully this time next year you'll see a big improvement from this video

Fantastic to see the old B/E operating so smoothly !
I was up on St. Mary`s Glacier above Idaho Springs,CO this last weekend and met a resident there who has a 1920s General steam shovel that was converted to a gas engine. I am working on having my brother do a video with the owner showing the unit and doing a cold- start as well as going through the operation of it. The owner may not be able to do any digging, but just show the unit `going through the motions`.

Now it looks like you've really got the hang of this machine. A bit more fluid compared to when you put one of your first attempts at operating your dragline up. I think my mate Danial Taylor here in Australia has spoken to you a few times. He helped me rescue my 22RB Dragline. Hope to have some footage soon when It is finished at the paint and panel shop. Cheers Adrian, Emerald Queensland Australia

Yeah that machine needs a bunch more work also. brake linings, lubed up, and that bucket is just too aggressive for some reason. Yes i usually hear From Dan. looking forward to seeing your dragline

I was just surfing TH-cam for entertainment, saw this one and thought of an answer. If I were in a hydraulic excavator and you were in the shovel, the shovel would win. Haha

Isn’t that Cat diesel nice compared to a gas powered machine. That wood pile looks like it could be lit and then sit around it at the end of the day with some adult beverages and admire the machine. That’s probably what I would have done years ago.

    • @73DiamondReo

its got nice power, not crazy loud like a Detroit and decent on fuel so far. i used to do bonfires and have people over all the time burning wood by the dump truck load.
Ive got a few more stumps and some other dead wood to burn but its too windy right now.

Yes, I guess we change as we get older. Wasn’t it nice that one person called you a young operator. I guess compared to me you are but you’re not a kid any more. I think it was a 405 Koehring I ran for awhile in about 77 with about 50 foot of boom and a 1 1/2 yard bucket and a 471 Jimmy. Talk about loud with the governor opening and closing with each swing.

I love the ole girl but those hand me down outfit doesn't make her feel to get to work she need a couple coats of paint maybe rusteloum blue 🔵 and maybe a band at the bottom and I like to hear to have 2 old school round or square headlights to see where she going a nice black painted mast and shovel maybe a nice rain cap for the Stack a nice big stack so when she Starts she be Rosey the Riveter she can be Patricia pumping iron and put a arm showing the muscle 💪 buldge
