I just have to say thank you! Just got my first 7-string Ibanez & I love it! You really showcase what extended range Guitars can do & sound like! If it wasn't for ur channel I probably wouldn't of got one! But with all ur technical crushing riffage it swayed me! Keep on keeping on brother 🍻
I have Schecter Blackjack 7 string, but the oldest model with a "flash" on 12th fret and SD Blackout pickups. It's an amazing guitar, pure metal machine. Thanks for the review Andrew!
Aaron Morgan yeah, I like those colours as it’s a massive “Fuck you” to the norms and I can’t think of anything more metal than “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me”
@@loch1352 that and the direct mount pickups are why I got a solar. I got a pink a2.6 solar guitar. I need a good 6 string. I have good 8 and 9 strings and an ok 7 string, but my 6 strings were cheap.
The blackjacks are the no-nonsense models right? No fancy asthetics or extra stuff going towards the looks and everything is focused on playability? I'm not sure how I feel about schecters new inlay style they've been doing on there newer models. I have to see in person for myself I guess. Lol once you mentioned there super loud and over the top inlays it definitely makes me like these more. Iv always imagined the tree of life inlay could get a little confusing. Shout out to hunter!
@@ErebosGR Compared to the abalone vomit and quilted maple nightmares that go on with the Hellraiser models, the cream binding and inlays here are pretty simple Albeit the more toned down Banshees and the KM-7s seem to still be the only real no-bullshit workhorse guitars Schecter makes, but this is a nice middle ground I guess

I own 4 Schecter guitars and a Schecter bass and I'm very happy with them. You would probably like the PT7 if you like Tele style guitars. It has EMG 57/66 pickups that sound great and it's super comfortable to play.
I actually have a ten (maybe even more) year old version of this. Saw Jeff Loomis play on it during the Enemies of Reality tour. Mine doesn't have the locking tuners. The frets are still like they are when I bought it and it has Seymour Duncan JB/59 set with dot inlays on the neck. Still love the guitar and wouldn't change anything on it.
I really dislike tune o matic bridges on strat style guitars like that but I'm loving those new inlays compared to their old cross style on the Hellraisers.
Hi Mr. Baena, nice, thorough review. I just got one because it had every feature that I would specify except one, that being a whammy bar. What are your thoughts on my installing a FR tremolo? Or even better a Kahler? Thanks for the comprehensive video review.
Huh! This looks almost identical to my decade old Blackjack C-7. I way prefer thia to all the tacky crosses, playing card, and bat inlays they used for a while. I got mine a few months back for $300 from a guy in Victoria. It needed a couple of hours of cleaning and adjustments, but sounds amazing with the JB and 59 combo.
Once upon a time, when I was a young boy, with feeble little hands, and skid marked underwear, I didn't enjoy Schecter, but as I grew older, discovered women, used a chainsaw acouple times, accumulated a large key ring, and became a man, I discovered, Schecter is just that, a man's guitar.
This one has better pickups, sunset has longer scale length. If you want to tune extra low get the sunset, if not then this one is better due to the pups
Man, it's a sick guitar but the binding kills it for me, and the neck pickup is kinda lacking, but then again I don't really use it, except on my tele.
If it wasn't an all mahogany body and neck I'd give this one a look. I just prefer swamp ash or alder for 7 strings and low tunings like this. This one is too dark sounding for me. I'm sure the 6 string models sound killer though.
Same. I've had my C-1+ for probably 15 years and it's seen basically everything a young learning guitarist could throw at it and taken all of it in stride. Still sounds great to this day too.
I agree, I understand some people wanting to roll volume for effects, I prefer Volume pedal at the beginning of my chain. In the past I've rolled the volume down while playing complex fast parts on guitars where it's too close.
Move your wrist less and more effective while you're playing, the volume next to it helps you to cap your wrist mobility and play faster and cleaner, also you can play with the volume much more easy
I’ve always felt Schecter’s biggest flaw in my opinion was their looks. Too cheesy and cringey with trying to look like a “metal” guitar. The ones I’ve played felt great. Only real Schecters I’m a fan of are the KM’s
For a metal guitar to copy the aesthetics of a Les Paul Custom (piano black finish, cream binding, ebony fingerboard, block-ish inlays) is a strange and dated choice.

What's the price ?!
Schecter is criminally overlooked. Great guitars for the money. Good stuff man!
I like the simpler aesthetic. I need a 7 or 8 string in my life.
there are some dam good looking guitars coming from schecter Im looking forward to the Schecter Omen Elite 6 in Charcoal
A true sleeper. Plain looks but delivering the goods in what matters most
I play the Hellraiser C9 with 909x pickups it sounds incredible. So happy with my purchase.

Black guitars > any other color. Yes, even green.
Saurion red guitars are also great
Pink guitars are the best
Neon Pink, neon green, neon orange,, neon yellow( safety yellow) dark (not too dark) purple.

Hmm, I would regard the cream binding around the body and neck as "fancy aesthetic nonsense" that only add to the cost of the guitar.
Not a huge fan of the new inlays, should have kept the old blackjack ”flash” inlay

Those Lundgrens are kinda strange pickups with very low resistance of 12.5K close to PAFs. Not a regular metal tone of a 16K +- 2K pickup.
Did you replace any guitars to get this?
Do you still have your green Steph Carpenter 7-String?
