      Haha, thank you! I'm not back yet. First, I need to finish my last client works, then I take a week off and then I'm back for good! :)

    Loving your channel it’s great and super helpful! Thank you. I would love to see a full colour grading video using Dehancer. Looking at purchasing the plugin as want to try it out. Will use you’re code 😉

      Great suggestion! I'll do a full guide on Dehancer in the near future! I don't think that the code still works as I'm no longer affiliated with any brands. But picking up Dehancer is a good idea nevertheless, haha :D I just bought Dehancer Photo, too. :)

      @@iamericlenz thanks, purchased today and used it on my first project. Looks great. Would be interested in your thoughts on Dehancer for photos as I shoot photos to. Just wish it was native to LRC and not external.

    Absolutely LOVE Dehancer Pro - and I'm a FCPX (and Sony) user! Would love to see you put out a tutorial on how you use Dehancer in FCPX (most tutorials are about Davinci and Dehancer.....although the process is basically the same - it's still different enough!

      Me too! Just as I mentioned in the video - it ticks all of the boxes for me and I don't need to roundtrip to resolve for proper film emulation anymore. :)

    Thanks for this! I'd LOVE to see a full color grade tutorial using Dehancer. FYI - I have an M1 Macbook Pro with 64GB of RAM and Dehancer plays very smoothly FCP for me. I assume from what others have said about performance, the key is to having at least 64GBs of RAM.

      THANK YOU! I just upgraded to the M2 Max with 32GB RAM 4 months ago because I thought I was CPU/GPU limited. However, I‘m going to sell it in the near future and upgrade to a >64GB RAM machine.
      Can we talk privately? I want to make a video about that issue.
      Please reach out to me via email: info@ericlenz.photography
      Thanks! :)

    So you're a professional colourist, only on Final Cut Pro? I really don't want to switch to da Vinci resolve 🤨.

    • @iamericlenz
      @iamericlenz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha, no. :D I use Resolve for all my client stuff but for my personal projects, I want to stay in FCP for as long as possible. However, I'd argue that you can achieve almost everything in FCP if you don't need to do high-end stuff. Nodes in resolve are superior for complex processing pipelines, for example when creating elaborate looks like bleach bypass etc.
      On that note, you shouldn't need to switch to resolve if you're not aiming at the top 1% of techniques. Feel free to send an email. I'd love to discuss that more!

      I bought it awhile ago and while I think it's actually pretty powerful, and gives you a lot more options than the current FCPX color grading tools, it can be a little unrelable for me. Sometimes there are a few tools that don't work right all the time, so it can be a little annoying.I'd say try the free trail and check it out before deciding to purchase. @@clivefd

    WIil you release a noise reduction or anti/aliasing moire or chromatic aberration removal plugin?

    • @iamericlenz
      @iamericlenz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there!
      Interesting suggestion! I am working on a chromatic aberration plugin, but I cannot say whether or not this will work out.
      As for Moire, I never thought of that. I will look into that! Thanks!
      The built-in noise reduction in Final Cut is pretty strong. You can surely work with that in my opinion.
      Thank you a lot!

    Dehancer Pro is so slow though, even on an M3 Max, it cannot play smoothly without pre-rendering - and this is a low bitrate 25fps 4K footage, nothing crazy. Are there any solutions to this?

    • @iamericlenz
      @iamericlenz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. How much RAM do you have? I'm mostly working with 4k 24p Sony-footage (not transcoded) and I'm rocking an M2 Max with 32GB RAM.
      What you can do is configuring all non-colour effects and then, turn them off for grading. The most taxing effects are the non-colour effects anyway. But you don't need them for grading. Then, when you are done grading enable them again and export it. :)
      But I just had a great video idea for that. I will tackle this issue in a future video. :)

      @@iamericlenz I tried that, it still bogs down and starts dropping frames, it's an M3 Max with 14-cpu / 30-gpu cores with 36GB of ram - even if I disable every single effect other than selecting my camera model at the very top, it still bogs down. When I switch to Filmconvert Nitrate, it's immediately super fast without rending, regardless of what effects I select.

    • @iamericlenz
      @iamericlenz  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DigiDriftZone that's super odd. Nothing like that happens to me. I think you should reach out to dehancer. That isn't what I'm experiencing at all and you shouldn't be limited by hardware either.
