      I can tell you bears fans don’t know anything about winning and it shows lol Justin Fields had comparable numbers to Raiders rookie QB Aiden O’Connell. And Aiden was horrible last year. I think bears fans lost so much and the little light that Justin has given yall. Y’all sticking to it because gives you a tiny hope. Yes he was let down by bears management. But he hasn’t done anything at all to show he can be quarterback to take team to Super Bowl hasn’t thrown for 3k in a season yet. I mean I can go on and on. He’s not consistent in accuracy. Do you realize what Lebron James did for the Cleveland Cavaliers as a franchise when they drafted him being from Akron Ohio. Conversely do you know what it did the the local economy when he left Cleveland for Miami, it makes total sense to me. You can disagree if the Bears dont have to spend the 1st pick on a QB, that leaves them with more ammunition to build the team. Now if you dont believe that Justin Fields is a QB you can build around i get that, I dont share that opinion but I understand.

      Time, yes. Four years, no. There are far more QBs who have been bottom-ten passers in the NFL for three seasons who remained below average for the rest of their career, than those who were well below-average passers for three seasons and then turned it around in season 4 or 5 and became above average, let alone top five or ten. It's more likely that Caleb Williams will be as good or better passer in 2024 than JF1 was in 2023, then that JF1 will be a top 15 passer in 2024.

      That would be true if the Bears had the #4 or #7 pick. They have the first pick in a draft with a clear-cut #1 QB. Last season it was understandable to trade down, given Bryce Young's height and weight, and that nobody knew CJ Stroud would be so good. JF1 hasn't shown enough to have faith in year four vs CW in year one. Bears will draft CW. Remains to be seen if there is even a trade market for JF1.

    I've been a Justin Fields fan from the day he was drafted. But he has been a bottom-ten passer in the NFL for three seasons. At this point it's far more likely that he remains a below-average passer and lifetime backup or spot starter. Everyone is ignoring the silent evidence: far more QBs have been below-average for three seasons and remained below average than those who have turned it around after year three and become above-average, let alone top 10 or top 5, NFL passers. It is more likely that in 2024 Caleb Williams will be as good or better a passer as JF1 was in 2023, than it is that JF1 will turn it around and become significantly better, an above average or top 10 passer, in year four. The Bears either need JF1 to break out in year four, or for CW to be as good in his rookie season as JF1 was in year three. It's not like the Bears have the #4 or #6 pick. They have the #1 pick. Last offseason it was understandable to stick with JF1. It's high time now to bet on a different horse.

      @@mikeydoesThis has EVERYTHING to do with Fields! That was an asinine comment. A haul only represents "potential" - most of those picks can be busts. You pass up on an actual materialized talent such as Caleb just for "potential". What moronic fanbase would pass up on Caleb when they haven't had a more than decent QB since the 1930s? Damn a "haul", I'm looking to draft a future "hall" of fame quarterback in Caleb Williams. And answer this for me. In the HISTORY of the NFL, what GM and head coach has had the #1 draft pick in back-to-back seasons and didn't draft a quarterback, but instead they opted to keep a low tier quarterback (JF) that the present GM and head coach didn't draft? I'll wait... TIMES UP! NOBODY IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL HAS DONE THAT! WHY?! It's because it would be outright ASININE to do that! Poles and Flus will not be foolish enough to allow Justin to be the reason why they get fired; not for a low tier quarterback that 1) can't read defenses pre-snap 2) doesn't go through his progressions 3) doesn't anticipate throws 4) holds on to ball while WRs are wide open 4) doesn't look to throw down field when he's scrambling 5) doesn't protect the ball 6) has lazy footwork when he drops back 7) pats the ball before he throws 8) has a long loopy release that increases the chances of passes to be batted down or intercepted 9) doesn't throw receivers open and 10) gets injured every season. What part of that says that JF is a competent NFL quarterback? He's a back up at best. Get over the fact that you didn't get much mileage out of buying his jersey. After all, I bought Montgomery's jersey late in 2021 and I'm not crying about it. Justin, JustOUT. He had his chance to improve his skill set but he obviously hasn't put in the work. And all of his aforementioned deficiencies have absolutely NOTHING to do with a bad play call by Getsy or any other OC.

      So you're saying that JF1 CAN have a break out season under Shane Waldron. Agreed, that's what he came for, develop and coach ANY young QB, be it JF1 or CW. If it's JF1, it means trading #1 pick for a great haul in picks and/or players for the Bears rebuilding team: perfect. If JF1 flunks it under Waldron, then Bears draft a QB in 2025, with a solid team already in place. No risk. If JF1 makes it, it's a win. Draft CW now and don't build the team... it's a gamble. The safest option is obvious - and by the way, not drafting the toxic diva CW would be a wise move. Let Washington have him.

If the trade value is a 2nd round or worse that's your answer (Meaning the league thinks Fields is mediocre). Fields is gone. He hasn’t shown enough to pass on a rookie quarterback. A big issue with Fields is his rookie contract will expire soon and the Bears and which ever team trades for him will have to decide whether to extend his contract. They may trade the #1 pick to Washington, but the team has to move on from Fields.

    At this point, I just feel that the Bears are going to play themselves by holding onto Fields until Draft Night thinking that they'll get that 23rd hour offer either for a haul to move back from #1, or a QB needy team deciding they want Fields over a rookie QB after seeing how the board falls. Then when neither offer comes in, they're left holding both Fields and Williams and have no leverage.

    • @benoitwaffle5439
      @benoitwaffle5439 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has always been a miscalculation on the media's part that Fields would have been anyone's first option, and this would be done by the Combine. He didn't play well enough to earn that status. Kirk Cousins threw for 4,000 yards in seven of his nine seasons as a starter, and was on pace to do it again last year. Justin Fields has eclipsed 2,500 yards once in three. Baker Mayfield is coming off a 4,000 yard season and a playoff berth. Those two were always going to go first. Teams without the cap room to go in that direction are going to want a better assessment of all the QBs available, not just Caleb, Drake, JJ, and Jayden. They are going to want to learn more about Penix, Nix, Rattler, Pratt, Taulia, Milton, Travis, and Hartman. A team could very well identify one of them as a long-term prospect, or someone else I can't think of, and pairs them with a veteran like Brissett, Minshew, or even Darnold. Now, you add a cheap Russell Wilson into the mix. Trading for Fields or Jake Browning is a down the line move, and honestly I tend to believe there might be a team or two who would prefer Browning. He did throw for 300 yards three times in seven starts and go 4-3 when Fields did that once in 38 with a record of 10-28. He will get dealt before the draft, but the bigger dominoes have to fall first.

    I really don't get how this is even a debate. The logic seems pretty simple. Go back as many years as you like and look at the playoff fields. How many of those teams didn't have the first or second best QB in their division? Not very many.
    Now ask yourself where Fields ranks within the NFC North QBs? Generously you could put him third if you assume Kirk Cousins doesn't come back to the Vikings, but Fields is solidly behind Goff and Love. It's gonna be hard to win consistently from that position.

    I've been saying it for months. The Bears need to trade down 1 pick, grab a couple future firsts as well and then draft Marvin Harrison Jr. #2. Maybe even grab Bowers or Turner at 9. They'd be set for a generation. The Bear's problem wasn't Fields. It's play calling and lack of talent around him. They had so many wide open drops it's unbelievable.
    MHJ+ DJ Moore + Brock Bowers is insane. Not to mention extra early-mid 1sts (from WAS) the next two drafts.

    Aside from what anyone thinks about Fields, my problem with Fields’ fans’ argument is that it relies on WASH (or NE) being willing to give up a package to move up, which is a hypothetical and an assumption. The certainty is that we have the #1 pick and Poles can have his choice at the most important position in sports.
    I’ve been looking at a lot of Commanders videos, reading through all the comments. Most fans are psyched about staying right at 2 and getting Daniels. Some others are good with Maye. I saw less than a handful that wanted to move up. There were more that wanted to trade DOWN and build around Howell. Not one mentioned the hometown thing.
    This is Peters’ first GM gig and he has to rebuild the entire defense and the offensive line. So the first thing he’s gonna do is destroy any chance to do that, to benefit the Bears? After being in the room for the disaster that was the Lance trade? These guys are a lot smarter than people think. It’s not like fleecing the doofus in your fantasy league.

    Is Washington going to offer a King's ransom, because of optics or because they think Williams is a great prospect? Obviously it's the latter and if it's the latter, then the Bears would be stupid to trade the pick for ANY haul (assuming the Bears scouts also believe he can be great). There is no trade out there that is worth giving up a consistent top ten franchise QB. Obviously, trying to find a top ten qb is not quite that simple, but that's the goal and the game.

Andy Dalton is a FAR better quarterback than ANYONE the Bears have or will likely have, any time in the near future. That is just reality - no matter what the race-baiting media and goofy fans think, say or want. Caleb Williams will likely be a bust but that doesn't mean he's not better than Justin Fields - which he is. Bagent is better than Fields and possibly better than Williams. Every quarterback eligible for the NFL draft would likely be a better choice than Caleb Williams. My favorites are Bo Nix and Drake Maye but it doesn't seem too many are very high on Nix, for some reason. J.J. McCarthy could be good. I'd take ANY of them over Caleb.
