Eisen: You're the adult here!
Brockman: Ehhh.
Classic.
Rich, you should get his son's team a Pinstripe uniform for all the players! You'd be such a supportive boss to Brockman!
The Yankees/Red Sox segments on this show are always gold
From a Phillies Fan I Agree and The Yankees Red Sox Rivalry is One of My Favorites!
"There's no championship he's 4!"🤣
This is the essence of youth sports, they'll play on teams named after your favorite team's most bitter rival. Just grin and bear it and make sure they have fun.
Exactly!!! thank you 🙂
"Hey, Cage, buddy next year let's try water polo, huh?"
Rich eisen really enjoyed winding him up on this one lol . Baseball fans r wild 😂
"...with the pinstripes?" 😆
Watch him absolutely crush every ball he hits, and everyone calls him " baby ruth"😂
His son possibly wearing 13 was the cherry on top of this whole conversation. 🤣
“Now batting for the Yankees…..Brockman. Number 5 Brockmam”
No thanks, I don't want a kid raised by that guy on the Yankees.....
My son was on the Devils AAA 18U hockey team. As a Rangers fan it hurt to see my son wear that hideous sweater
😂
This story made my day.
As a Yankees fan, I grew up playing on a LOT of teams where I wore a Boston hat and was a member of the Red Sox. Zero issue, despite hating the professional team. We, obviously, weren't them.
Edit: Also, luckily, Brockman will never have to worry about his kid seeing his number if there are Yankee highlights. 5 has been retired for a _long_ time.
Would you have preferred "Chico's Bail Bonds"?
The Bryce Harper cleats 😂😂😂
I'm a life long DODGER fan and my fist team was the Angel's my second Yankees, and my last Astros fml.😂
Brockman swallowing the BAIT hook line and sinker
This was like watching a pride of lions circling a zebra 🤣🤣
"There's no championship they're four." My body hurts from laughing so hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Brockman and his tone of voice.
When I was playing ball as a kid, my dad was set to be the manager of our team, the Giants. We were excited as we were Giants fans and it was cool to finally be on the Giants. Then the coach of another team suddenly quit and my dad was compelled to take over there… the team was Angels. The season was Spring 2003…
It was such a ragtag team of first year kids and troublemakers but we turned it around and made it to the championship that year. It turned to be my favorite year playing as a kid.
I am a diehard Cubs fan since I was old enough to say baseball. I'd sit on the floor next to my grandmother listening to Vince Lloyd and Lou Boudreau call the games on radio. Fast forward 30 years and my daughter wanted to plat T-ball, of all the teams that could have picked her she was selected by the Mets my Cubbies arch nemeses. It took every fiber of my being to root for her team and not burn her jersey and cap.
The struggle was real folks, the struggle was real.
I gots news for Daddy Brockman. This coming from a professional video editor. Such a great idea. So little time. :)
you might get 1 or 2 done, but there's always . . .and i repeat always stuff you can't scrub.
Coach: "Ok lets get everyone to huddle up for team photos!"
Parents: "Honey, all you kids go stand with cage and we'll take your photo!"
Child and family Services: "Mr Brockman, we have the report of your Yankees son documented, don't be that dad!"
Also guys I really love your show and of course over reaction Monday. As a Scottish fan, it’s great keeps me updated and amused. My first watch every time on TH-cam for NFL stories.
Brockman, what the hell are you going to do if your kid grows up a Yankee fan? Just disown him? Jeez man
I used to troll my dad because he's a vikings fan and I always Said I liked green bay
It comes down to how the kid reacted to learning this would be his team name. If he came to me and said "Sorry dad, I asked if we could be any other team instead but they already bought the uniforms" then I'd take Jr. out for ice cream.
Best part of rival baby gear swag is watching the baby pulque all over it. 😂
Brockman going to be talking about this with his therapist for the rest of his life lol
Brockman: “and you’re just trying to get me wound up AND IM NOT TAKING THIS BAIT!”
Takes bait while saying he’s not taking the bait 😂
Get him Rich!
Played on the Cardinals in little league. My life-long Cubs fan dad only said, "Let's go red!" for the entire season.
As a lifelong Dodger fan. I feel your pain. My kids first t-ball team was the Giants. I was an assistant coach and I wore a black Dodger hat the whole season. On the cheer, I stayed silent during the Giants part of the chant . Just gotta suck it up and be petty when you can.
My first team was the Dodgers. I was 4, I remember, I still remember Chris, forever.
It’s funny because my late father wondered how I ever became a Broncos fan when he was a diehard Charger fan. It just happens. So to hear this is fucking hilarious.
All Cooper has to do is point to his last name if, presumably, it’s Eisen. Then it’ll click 😂
This was fantastic..
Life long Cardinals fan, so of course my nephew's first team he played on was the f-ing Cubs. Can totally relate!
This entire segment has been hilarious! Even better as a Yankees fan!😂
Like most I played on like 8 different MLB teams in t-ball. The one I loved most was Mariners.
Thankfully I played at 7 and 8 in a Massachusetts little league where Yankees, Red Sox and Mets were specifically not chosen. I was a Ranger and a D-Back
We had a Little League team around here where every kid on the team wore number 8 because Cal Ripken Jr. It is a real thing.
I am a Phillies fan who played on a little league team called the Mets as a kid. I didn't care about the name of the team, just the people on it. Was a great time with good friends.
Rich does have a point. My nephew became an orioles fan because that was his little league (coach pitch) baseball team that he won the championship on… he’s 20 now and is still an orioles fan even though he grew up and lives in TX
There is one very difficult solution, try to make sure Cage enjoys baseball but loses every game. That way he'll absolutely hate the Yankees and fall in love with their greatest rival, the Redsoxs.
another for the emmy roll
Brockman is a great dad 🤣
I coached my son's little league team for years, one year we were assigned the Red Sox, so like any good Yankee fan we burned the uniform at the end of the season. And as a side note I taught my parrot to say "Boston Sucks"...:)
I got some bad news for Brockman… I’m 37 and I still remember that my first team was the Athletics
This is perfection.
Love this, absolutely brilliant. Chris I think when you say… I’m not taking the bait, you probably have already . @richeisen yer a bad man😂… btw being over in Scotland I’d be gutted if my kid wore a Rangers or Heart of Midlothian top, would feel the same! I feel yer pain Chris!😂
Growing up in Connecticut. They would never allow Yankees or Red Socks teams for youth baseball. During the fall it was random MLB teams, during the spring they did random college teams to prevent kids from getting upset of playing under a rival team logo.
I’m just saying the regional rival should never be a team option in little league. No child in mass deserves the punishment of being a yankee. Reverse true for New Yorker. But if you leave the safe zone you run the risk.
Brockman , my first born was a fins fan, ugh. But as a responsible farther, he grew out of it😊
Im a 49ers fan since BIRTH. No Rams stuff for me 😅😅.
I think there's no way Rich lets his kid put on a Scarlet and Gray BUCKEYE uniform!
Classic dad dilemma!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank You for this video!!! Chris, I understand your frustration at having a hated team be your son’s first team!!🤣🤣 Being from San Francisco, if I had a son and his first team were the dodgers I would have felt the same way!! 😂😂 Thank You for a Great laugh!!!
Eisen becomes the Wee Ball Yankees Team Dad despite not having a kid on the team JUST TO UPGRADE THE UNIFORMS TO PROPER PINSTRIPES and to make sure Cage is photographed wearing them.
Jesus, I’m a bit of a recovering New England sports fan myself and it’s probably the closest I’ll ever get to joining a cult. They’re all certifiable.
Brockman's kid will rebel against him as a teenager. Not by smoking pot and listening to grunge music, but by rooting for the Yankees. Because he knows it will piss him off!😂😂
Brockman will spend a ton of money getting ILM to change all the uniforms in videos from Yankees to, the Braves
He lost me right at the start ...... The idea of letting your kids pick which teams they support is ridiculous (unless it's a sport about which you're not passionate yourself). This is too important an issue, to let a kid choose. Also, why would you marry someone who supported a hated rival?
I work in sports recreation mostly running youth sports leagues. Parents like Brockman that worry about team names and stuff are the worst part about this career. Who cares if it's the Yankees? I hate the cowboys and yet I had no problem playing on the cowboys as a kid.
There’s a part of me that says Brockman is overreacting; that he should just be excited for his son to start playing baseball.
The rest of me is a Twins fan, and could not agree more with him. Screw the Yankees!
Hope Brockman doesnt see this comment, but Ive been a phillies fan my whole life in a dodgers household because my little league was the Phillies. Just so happens the Phillies won the WS that year!
I'm a native Philadelphian who once took my penguins bandwagon girlfriend to see her team beat mine. Life is pain
this is so much better than football talk, I can't even breathe. This is so funny!
As an orioles fan I was on the Red Sox, Yankees, and As during rec ball. It’ll happen lmao you gotta take the pictures man that’s what makes it funny when they grow up
I grew up in the South Bay a Niners and Giants fan. I played for the Raiders and A's in my leagues. 😅
Watch Cage become an MLB player for the Yankees 😂😂😂
Growing up my dad let me and my brother pick our favorite teams, my brother picked the team he knew would piss off my Eagles fan dad more than any other, the cowboys.
I am a Royals fan playing for the Cardinals in my men’s league. It’s not easy.
The beauty of the MLB
In the early 70's my Little League team was the Yankees and I used a Pete Rose bat. As an A's fan, I hated both of those!
I told my kids what football they should support, but they had the option of supporting other teams...but if they did I hoped they would enjoy the place they were living as they wouldn't be living in my house, I didn't care that they were 6 at the time I told them, they were 3 years older than I was when I choose.
Time to find him another team to play on!
You think he won’t remember but he will. I played for the Mets in t-ball. I was 5. Once a Yankee always a Yankee lol
Reminds me of when I forced my way into getting traded from the Cubs to the St. Louis Cardinals. I threatened to not play if I had to wear a Cubs uniform. This was little league baseball 🤣
I feel your pain Brockman
I can't wait for Cage to be drafted to play for the Yankees one day.
Love how he totally overreacts then has the nerve to say, "He's four, Rich".
Parenting rule No. (in my opinion): Do not embarrass your kid.
You call it wound up. I call it overreaction Wednesday.
Little Leagues in California should only be able to use names from the Pacific Coast League.
Padres, Seals, Oaks, Stars, Beavers, Senators, Solons, Raniers. All great names for kids teams. Plus, it's so old you could have a 20 team league pick.
My has Texas Rangers Gear from my dad and New York Yankees gear from my father in law. I think its fun for him to wear both and get weird looks from people who are wondering why my son has a World Champions Rangers jersey and a Yankees hat lol.
At the end of the day its the for the kids, but every year I've coached my kids baseball teams I've prayed I don't get the Cardinals (as a Cubs fan). As a coach I'd have to wear the hat to every game and be photographed with the team in a Cardinals hat. So far I've been able to avoid it. I always want to beat the Cardinals team a little bit more than the other teams lol. At the end of the day would it be a big deal if I was the Cardinals? Nah. But I'm happy I haven't been.
Makes me smile when Brockman has issues. I know I shouldn't, but he is such a troll that it shows you reap what you sow.
Yankees are also one of the most hated professional sports team in the world
Maybe in the 90s but not anymore
If my kid team name was Yankee ‘s . I Would drop dead
Flash forward to 2040 and with their 32 overall pick, the Yankees take Cage Brockman
Chris stews silently in the background with the B on his forehead
I dont mind my girlfriend wearing a uniform from a different team, rival or not. But id never ever wear any gear from a team or player that i am not a fan of
Hahaha I love this!!
you should've just sent the email and played it off like you weren't really super serious about it, but, like "is there any possible way..." that kind of thing..
Best Dad Ever!❤
Over my dead body would my kid play for the Red Sox in Little League
It would be funny if the kid does become Yankee fan. Cause of yee-ball. Lol
mine was the pirates....1991
Had to buy a stupid Dodgers hat for my cousin’s mini minors… let him trample that thing at the end of the season.
I pray that he becomes a Yankees fan.....for the Empire!!!!
I would choose to wear an umpires cap instead, just to be neutral 😉
He should have volunteered to help coach.
If i had a kid, his team name would be the least of my problems. 😅
It's the Yankees though
@josephboehmer1245 lol ya I know. I agree. As a Arizona Cardinals fan, I feel similar towards the Cowboys. 🤦♂️
