I made this last night and didn’t have basil. The texture is smooth and silky, it binds to the pasta and the flavor is a little butternut squash (ikr) well seasoned, kinda zesty. It is a crowd pleaser, completely different entity than the dairy version. I have half a batch of sauce left and I’ll get some basil. Thank you.

Question, if someone is allergic to nuts, is there any other alternative to substitute it with to still make mac and cheese?
you could try potatoes & carrots. those foods aren’t consider alkaline, but they work well!
