I had sling blue with the total TV package for $56 a month. I am a T-Mobile customer. When I found out that you could get $10 off of TH-cam TV for 12 months, I decided to give TH-cam TV a try.
The main reason was NFL football. I am now totally covered without having to mess with an antenna. Which worked OK for me last season but because I have moved probably won’t work as good for me this season. Unless I buy an over the air DVR. Which I’m not ready to do yet.
One thing I found out immediately the pricing for TH-cam TV is slightly deceptive. Because they charge sales tax and sling doesn’t or at least Sling has it built into the price so you don’t know it.
So actually with my T-Mobile discount TH-cam TV is costing me $58.45 a month.
As far as I know sling is the only paid streaming package that does not charge tax separately. Another advantage of sling.
@@shackdaddy7106 taxes are actually based on location. Some places don’t charge tax on streaming services and others do.
@@MichaelSaves I understand that. I am just wondering if sling builds the tax into the price of their package. With sling I bought $56 of programming and that’s exactly what I was charged on my credit card. TH-cam TV doesn’t work that way. I get a $54.99 charge plus $3.46 in tax.
@@shackdaddy7106 hmmm I know for sure that when I lived in Miami (high tax on streaming) that it was extra with Sling. I’ll take a closer look though. I’m curious
@@MichaelSaves here is something else regarding proration of charges. In the case of sling when I upgraded my package from sling blue to sling blue with the total package. I was charged the full $21 difference even though I updated in the middle of a billing period.
I think this is really important to inform people about that are just learning about streaming and who want to stream after years of cable and/or satellite
Just went to their website and it was impossible to cancel anything by following their own instructions. In my opinion l can only assume that they have made it virtually impossible for their subscribers to cancel. Now l must spent time trying to call Sling to cancel, that is if they haven’t blocked that avenue also. I have now gone from being a big fan of Sling TV to absolutely hating it.

This only works on desktop for anyone wondering but other than that, helpful.

This is so stressful. I just want to cancel an add-on. Not the base service. When I go to manage add-ons, there's no button to click for canceling add-ons. I have NBA League Pass but I'm trying to cancel it. It's not letting me unless I cancel the entire subscription in which I do not want to do.
Thank you! My “review” button was grayed out, so I set up a private browsing tab, unchecked my subscription boxes & the “cancel all” button showed up. Just like you said. I was able to cancel quickly after I watched this. Saved me a lot of frustration.

I wish I had this video when I cancelled my sling account two weeks ago for football season. But I figured it out and it goes exactly the way you said.
One of the few things I’m not happy about Sling Is that I did not get a prorated refund for the time remaining in the billing period. As far as you know is that true of all paid streaming services. If it is true (or not) that would be the topic of another video. You could call it “the art of cancelling a paid streaming service”😀😀😀.The reason I ask is because with cable and satellite you did get a prorated refund if you canceled in the middle of a billing period. I know that from personal consumer experience and also from the fact that I used to work for Dish.
One good thing my about sling cancellation is that not only did I get a cancellation notice from sling but today which would have my billing date I got an email from Amazon thru which I had signed up for sling saying that the account was canceled.
Most streaming services don’t prorate. Good question and idea too
Also, they won't start Immediately any new service that you add to your account. Currently I have Sling Blue + Orange and the Hollywood Extra package. A few days ago, I went into my account to drop Sling Orange and also add the Comedy Extra package. When I confirmed my order, the screen told me that the change would take effect at the start of my billing cycle.
@@napathon1 When I added the total TV package to my sling blue. The same thing happened to me. What I did was call sling customer service and they put the chainge through me right then and there while I was on the phone. And the change showed immediately on my TV.
The cancel subscription button is not in there for me
I was having an issue until I switched to desktop. Maybe that will help! It wasn't on any mobile options.
Had same issue. I had to pause my subscription and then the next time I went to the account page the cancel option was there.
Where is the phonu number? Because I have no clue how to contact them.

One more question: I have canceled sling. I still have a free sling account. Can Locast be integrated into a free Sling account or do you have to have a paid sling account for that?
I think you need to pay but I can double check once my subscription ends next week. This was the first time I tested the Locast integration.
Having problems changing the subscription. Cancelled it and then restarted it to try to change the subscription again but it didn't do it. So cancelled it again and probably not going back. At least not for awhile.
They sure make it easy to sign up but like pulling teeth to cancel. Ay yay yay.. finally was able to get it cancelled by first deleting the app, then going to their website using chrome rather than safari… thanks.
MY ENTIRE REASON FOR INSTALLING IT, WAS TO WATCH PACERS' BB GAMES. SLING SAID THEY CARRIED IT. NOT TRUE. NOW, THEY MAKE IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL?
Just found I never cancelled trial so attempting to cancel before another billing.
I does NOT work. 'my account'- 'cancel subscription'- stops at 'review changes', which is grayed out.
I am having the same problem. How did you contact them? Their phone number doesn't work either.
