Is Callard typical of the senior civil servants now letting this country down. Making decisions what to let their political “masters” know or otherwise. It is so easy to see how Yes Minister came to be written. It was a diary written by former civil servants with just the names changed.
The politicians are not given long enough (average minister in place for 11 months!) to recognise when a civil servant is being economic with the truth.
As for that dotty old chairwoman who did not like Mr Henry’s description of her, complaining that SHE was telling the truth, she was in charge of the bunch who did not accept that the Subpostmasters were telling the truth and sent so many to jail.

This enquiry could well lead to a pantomime production. Each one not taking any blame, it is always someone else. 'not me guv it was him/her' And where are all of these staff, are they all gainfully employed for the salaries they are awarded.? It's your and mine money being wasted!

The KC does a great job. This scandal is harrowing, it's if anything Kafkaesque. You couldn't dream this up. It's like POL, government, and the judicial behaves like a giant lawn mower. No hurdles allowed, nothing could be in the way for this force. Maybe a bettercword is that POL behaved like a thug. The blind trust to technology. A risk assessment that lack some vital aspects that really should have been there. Had it not been for Mr Bates God knows when this would have seen the day of light. And why did POL recruit with in its own organisation. People had fancy titles but could they really do trhe job, were they qualified enough?

It’s disgusting followed by disgusting. If these people think it’s not their fault then all payments made to them should be returned immediately as they clearly were incapable of doing what they were paid to do.
