It is endlessly fascinating to listen to him speak: so richly full of Gallic charm and graceful ease! His observations should be a Vademecum for all singers, opera or not. I believe that I have fallen completely in love with him!
@Shmurda Lurda You can hear in this very interview that he's not tho? There are no more castrati. Countertenors are not castrati. Source: I'm a countertenor and a bass and my testicles are very much in place. Or am I missing a bad joke here?
Janwera. That’s very funny ! I am 74, and I wouldn’t consider such an option for myself of course :-) :-) He is a charming young man. He is clever too and….. as far as his voice is concerned, well….. Waouh !!! what can I say more ? I am lost for words, it is so beautiful !!! He is a very gifted artist, no doubt about that. I wish to add that I am Canadian and (I find his French accent very sweet).
Thank you for explaining the process of developing an opera part, I can imagine the complexity of the inputs during this process. I am amazed therefore how flourless and engaged all your work is.
Thanks for sharing! - What an interesting interview you did with Philippe Jaroussky! - I enjoyed it very much, thank you! - I hope there will be a second part too...
I'm amateur. It seems as though Baroque doesn't embrace vibrato in orchestra and that leaves the voice to seem more beautiful. Do you ever wish that 'vibrato' was a partner more often than usually seems (to me) to be the picture?
It is very unusual for a counter tenor to sing totally in falsetto. I’m not sure why. Perhaps because there are no longer any castrati. I would love to hear him sing in a masculine voice.
He's so articulate and a simply outstandingly good singer. It's just a shame that I can't take the interviewers seriously. They appear to be naive, not very knowledgeable and are simply not a suitable match for Philippe.
Britta Morrison i think the Interviewers ask as we would ask, not how professional would. I think they cleverly show his endearing manner and intelligence.
Bing and Dennis are very knowledgeable and experienced and entirely uninterested in presenting themselves as erudite. They put the interviewee centrestage not themselves. Just do some timing. They talk far less than many interviewers and are succinct in their questions
What a wonderful natural person and engaging musician.

I adore him singing the role of Nero in Monteverdi’s opera. I can’t believe he still has to audition! I have a crush on this singer. He’s so handsome.
