We test out a $15 Bore Scope to see if we can examine the health of a 429 that was rebuilt and set aside several years ago. We bought ours off of Amazon about a year ago, and the model is no longer available. But you can source them for between $6 and $35 using search term Endoscope.

The 429 Lima motor is my favorite big block... It's like a Windsor with Cleveland heads on steroids :) Which is my second Fav.... 351 Windsor W/ 2 barrel Cleveland heads. Ernie Elliott built that motor for Bill Elliott's #9 Thunderbird back in the day... Set a record at Talladaga at 212 mph!

I bought one of those a while back, but it used a wireless connection to connect to my phone and thing was a nightmare. Nowadays they are pretty affordable with standalone LCD's and come with 32GB SDcard for pics and video if needed. I waited for a coupon to come up on slickdeals (where you can find deals, Im not promoting them) and purchased one for $40. Very useful and I put it down my fuel filler tube😬 I had to check, been sitting for 13 years.

Correction Jeff, 429-CJ, 429-SCJ Cylinder heads were the D0OE Castings.

Probably not. While certain things will cross over, I find that big car to pony or intermediate won't usually cross.

429 WE COULD THROW IN A CAM... A GOOD 4 BARREL AND BETTER GEARS IN THE REAR END AND GET RID OF THE SMOG STUFF!

No smog on there so we are getting close. We will be adding the four barrel. Trying to talk Jack into a bit more cam, but the compression ratio will dictate a lot of what we do.This may be a 9.75 rear axle too. That will hamper gear selection.
