Congrats! You will be thankful for the black interior with 3 boys! I have had my model 3 black/black for almost 4 yrs and still love it. My 3 boys have definitely put some wear and tear on the seats but they clean up pretty easily. Convinced hubs to go all electric. Waiting to take delivery of our Y LR next month. Of note, when I ordered my 3 in March 2019, the initial estimated delivery date was June. However, I was assigned a VIN number and took delivery 2 weeks later. I think it was a car someone preordered and declined delivery on. Tesla definitely makes driving kids around more fun!
I think we are already thankful for the black interior lol! My 5 year old stepped on my seat yesterday and I was like 😫 But it was no big deal because it wiped right off of the black seats 🙌🏻 I’m excited for you to get your Y! You’re going to love it

We've had two Model 3's for three years. Awaiting delivery of our first Model Y in the next two days! Not only is the tech the stuff other EV makers are copying, they are fast due to limited loss of torque. But more important is their handling: The low center of gravity resulting from the battery placement makes them hug the road like no car I've ever driven before. Tesla rules!

Congrats. Excellent choice. My wife got the same car but in 2020. She got the white interior and we do have two boys. If you upgrade later, don’t be worried about the white. Baby wipes do the trick.

Nice vehicles but the delivery checklist is a bit crazy. I’ve bought a dozen vehicles and never had to check for gaps and other imperfections. This should be the dealer/manufacturers job.
It definitely should be! But when you’re dealing with Tesla, you’re not dealing with a dealership. It’s a totally different experience

Congratulations I just got mine 2 weeks ago 7 seaters and downgraded from a mini van as well. I also have 3 boys we originally ordered white with black interior but settled with white on white same reason as you but we love it. Enjoy your new ride🎉

Congrats! 🎉 I picked up my MY LR last week and everything was great for the most part! What did you end up doing about the multiple spots where plastic is coming out from the interior roof glass? My MY also had that small issue but it was way more minor (2 spots).
Yay! Congratulations on your new car too! Oh that wasn’t an issue at all actually. We had the service people remove it and it came off easily for them! I have a service appointment next week for all of the other cosmetic issues 😊 Should be a pretty easy fix!

I will also advise everybody to check the seat as well as well horn. My M3 had left horn and passenger side tilt butting not working issue

We actually have both the Mach E and the Tesla! My hubby drives the Mach E, but he already has plans to switch to a Tesla after driving mine around 😊

Hi there! Unfortunately, Tesla has not updated the Tesla Vision as of yet. Parking would be a LOT easier with the sensors though

No there is no PPF initially, you will have to get that put on after you take delivery. We just had our put on a few days ago 😊
Great feeling isn't it? I should take a video of my 3 Tesla - M3 (black) and 2 MY LR (midnight silver n blue) from 2022 deliveries. It's tempting! Anyways enjoy your Model Y its fun, relaxing and compelling to drive compared w/ my 2 MBenz that I sold both prior to my Tesla deliveries to empty my driveway...lol

Do you find it hard to park without the ultrosonic sensors? There are no indicators for close objects, right?
Correct! Which I find so strange because in my Mini Van I had sensors AND a 360 cam, but not in this vehicle. It’s taken a little getting used to, but this car is pretty easy to drive and park, thankfully. I am looking forward to when they eventually update the cameras though!
Could you do like a road trip I'd like to see how many times it needs to be charged and how easy it is to live with no more stops at gas stations

As much as I love the white, I don’t think it’s an option for us while the boys are still young! I just know I’d obsess over keeping it clean 🙈

Next time go for the white seats. Ich use my Model S with white seats as a company car and have kids too. They clean very easy. Over 130000 mls on the clock.

Once you find issues with the car before you take delivery does Tesla write that down so they can fix it? Then you take delivery?
They take note of it and repair anything you need repaired that can be fixed at the time, anything else that takes more work they make an appointment for you to have it fixed 😊
Lol I loved the part where she was like, “that’s not getting off until I get my screen protector “ smart idea. I bet she made you Vinyl wrap the entire car too to protect that paint which is actually a good idea in the long run.
I would have LOVED that lol! And make it bubble gum pink 😍 But hubby wouldn’t go for that 😂 We got partial PPF though!
@@kateschwanke lol Bubblegum pink is all you need for him to happily drive the minivan full time and never think about driving that Tesla again unless if you are on the trip with him.
Hahaha that would definitely be true 😂 He’s lucky enough to have the Mustang Mach E to drive…but he wants to get a Model Y next year after driving my car around a bit lol!

Hang in there! Ours was a long way out and even got pushed back a whole month when we ordered. We got super lucky with the accelerated delivery option!
Is it easy to pick up and drive like a normal car for Tesla model Y
I didn’t hVe any issues driving it home the day we picked it up! It’s super easy to drive once you get used to it 😊

That one is like an hour wait on the phone lol! But I just got back from their new location in Nashville (not the Brentwood one) and it was super nice! I was literally in and out of there in about 45 minutes

This is the second TH-cam video i watched where an order was placed for the same spec I ordered last year but you guys were able to receive it in a month? How does that happen? You have the same color and spec that I ordered. Just curios..
Hi! So this was an accelerated delivery order. We originally placed an order for a white long range 3 row Model Y, but they offered this one as an accelerated delivery and we were able to get it within a week of accepting the offer. I’m not sure how it all works out, but I believe this one was already on the Nashville lot when we accepted the offer

How is it going without the parking sensors? I'm thinking of cancelling my delivery since I'm not sure how I will like the car without the feature.
It’s not the easiest, but it’s doable! I am used to having 360 cams for parking, so it’s been a little challenging for me. I just park far away from everyone though and it’s not a problem lol! I have my fingers crossed they do an update soon

We actually had to set up an appointment to have them fixed, but it was a great experience when they did. They had me in and out of there within 45 minutes for that service appointment

Where are u from? I’m from Europe (Italy) but the 7 seats version is still not available and Tesla doesn’t know when it will be.. We have 3 kids too and Tesla Model Y with that option would be the perfect car for us! Thanks in advance

It wouldn’t be for us because we need a 7 seat vehicle, the Ioniq 5 does not offer that configuration, unfortunately.

Do tesla even check before they release the car?
@dillonle4034 From my experience no they do not. If anyone gets one inspect everything very carefully. I got mine in 2021 and it was a nightmare. Bubbles in the paint, parts not aligned, scratches on the car, not within a hour of driving it back home my battery in the car said it needed to be replaced but turned out they didn’t pin things properly (I drove a rental for 3 weeks), missing passenger floor mat, and melted key cards. It took 6 months for them to fix everything. Also, they give you Uber credits and not a rental car if the damages are not major. All the rental cars I got Tesla and other brand cars had a flat tire or a check engine on and Tesla charged me for the rental which I had to fight with them on.
