    I like to see how people route their things and what they want to achieve. I work more with Logic. I like Ableton a lot but I am on Logic. What people need to develop is taste, no matter what equipment you have, being creative and being able to know music and become one with your tools... is when the magic comes a live.

    Carnage: “…the volume here, it just adds a whole, I don’t know what it does, it just makes everything super louder…it just makes it sound very very way more stronger.” Thumbs up if you read this in his voice!

    Hi,
    I can't connect my roland TR8 to Ableton in midi mode but only in simple audio mode .. I also have a latency when I add the effects on different instruments of the tr8 .. I am a beginner and am at the looking for answers and to know about this beautiful machine. Superb video thank you!

    Hi Ean. Did you switch over to PC or is it just a sponsor thing?

    • @Yul303
      @Yul303 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Emil Brikha (“Beatsnatcher”) Considering the recent razer wave of promotion around music, and the color scheme all around the video it's not really difficult to have the answer (given at the end of the video by the way). Blatant promotion is obvious.

    • @djtechtools
      @djtechtools  8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      +Emil “Beatsnatcher” Brikha - Razer sponsored this series which allowed us to seriously upgrade our production quality and make a really nice looking video. I was personally curious about switching to the Razer Blade anyway so this was a good test opportunity. We will be publishing my Laptop review of the Blade on DJ TechTools soon, in which I make the call on if a switch is possible. - Ean Golden

      +DJ TechTools It certainly is a great looking video, congrats. I've always been curious about the PC vs Mac for no other reason than streamlining my world and I had enough of PC when Mac specs started to drizzle down in price compared to high end PCs a couple of years back. Anyway, always interesting to keep one ear to the rail to see what's what. And oh, I never told you... We had a son 8 months ago, and named him after you :D www.fatherologist.com... No really, we did. Good luck, looking forward to seeing the laptop review!

    Supposedly I get a Roland-Mx1 and then connect the TR-8, and then run it through Ableton. Will I lose the ability to monitor each instrument on the tr-8 and add effects with Ableton if the MX-1 is selected as the main audio interface?

    How on earth are you only getting sound playback through the daw. I get a double up of sound using my tr8s and ableton . Cant turn the output of my tr8s off!!

      @lloydvallentine2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AustinGraff Start the tr-8 with pattern button, then in that menu set all the instruments to go trough B or A, you will lose the effects but you can get playback trough DAW.

    Isn't the resonator a form of delay, rather than a synth?

  • @s7official254

    Why do i have latency, is there any way to get rid of it ?? i press spacebar and play on my mac but tr8s plays a bit delayed all the time any way to fix it ??

  • @macboogieland2897
    @macboogieland2897 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    how is this all synked without latency? if you turn on the metronome, will it be in time?

    • @macboogieland2897
      @macboogieland2897 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mahony Rakete hm, you mean driver error compensation, in ableton, right?
      if you dont mind me asking, what do you do when you increase the delay in your daw (to be in sync with external gear), and therefore cant use any other midi controllers, since those will have crazy delay now?
      i use maschine as a vst in ableton. when i adjust driver error compensation to be able to sequence my external synth from ableton, i just cant use maschine anymore, because the latency is so obvious. but i cant really keep going to the preferences in live everytime i want to switch what im using....
      any advice? :D

    Hello, thanks a lot for your tuto. Every things seems to be ok but I still have one problem : when I switch monitor to on, I heard twice the sound of my TR : once with the synth effect and one with the normal sound. so the sound become dirty and the instrument like BD are saturated
    I have noticed that even with the track activator on off, the sound of the TR is still here...
    How can I cut the signal from the TR, and keep only the sound from ableton with effect you are showing ?
    Thanks by advance :)

    how do you have each drum as separate midi track pleeease?

    • @rishibawa
      @rishibawa 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Naoise Woods - not sure if this is what you're looking to do but in session view if you go to the top of your drum channel there should be a small arrow next to the name you can click. What SHOULD then happen is the entire thing opens up with individual channels for each drum. Hope this is what you were looking for :)

    don't waste your time with a mixer that's showing you how to use presets that's a scam you wont achieve almost anything this way
    learn how oscillators, envelopes, filters and the other basics work both alone and together it will save your career as a electronic sound maker/musician and so on
    this guy is showing you how to rely on other people's work to be able to do yours
    I've been watching Ean since the midi fighter's creation and im at the very least not impressed
    want to know why well..
    years ago about the time of the midi fighter was came up for the first time i knew nothing about this stuff now years later i do and i didn't learn any of it with the help of dj techtools although back then i almost bought a midi controller from them of course the only reason being me thinking that i need it because it was advertised well to people who dont know about this stuff
    dont be a mixer be a creator you will mix all you want when they start booking you for your own music not just because you can beatmach a couple of tracks with fx using a midi controller
