@@Cibbic while this is true, it takes players a minute or two to mod in all of that. what're the odds that a multibillion dollar corporation with massive amounts of resources that modders don't even have couldn't... you know, fix that? sounds more like they just don't want to. if modders, who have a ton less resources, funding, R&D, etc can ... EA can't because ...? not like they don't release broken shit all the time.

Sims 4 is only good for people who like to build. Sims 3 if for people who want to play the game.
Many of us bought powerful PCs because we thought that ours would not support a spectacular game with cars, boats, everything that the Sims 3 had because it was supposed to be better and more powerful. And EA began to say that the technology of some PCs would not be compatible. EA has been disloyal to us, disastrous and shabby and the game does not have anything that Windows 7 does not support. This has been a waste of money with an empty game when purchasing it.

Given that the animations already exist for cars to drive on the roads in The Sims 4, there is really no excuse for them to keep refusing to add cars to the game. Like in The Sims 2, the car could just fade out from the lot, fade in on the road, and actually drive for a little bit, which is more than we got in The Sims 2. All they would need is the animation of The Sims getting into the vehicle. Their refusal to do this is just laziness to me. Especially when they could charge $10 USD for the privilege of this!
Nope what you describe is 3. In 2 the car needs to be on a designated car spot eith access to the road. If a sim would yse the car, they actually enter the car and the car drives off the lot onto the street like - you know - a car
I thought that in Sash's video, one of the driveway slots could be placed anywhere on the lot. In that case, since the car couldn't back out into the road, it would just fade out and back on the road. But maybe I am mistaken. It has been a very long time since I played The Sims 2! But I never played The Sims 3.
@@HarshMelon I might be wrong about this, but I Think in sims 2 the Carport must habe access to the street. (But I might be wrong about that. I never tried it.)
@keit99 You should maybe watch the video before commenting, just a thought. Satch shows both options for carports in TS2. One that has to be attached to the street (would include an animation of the car driving backwards to the street), then the other option of the carport being placed anywhere on the lot - from there the car can teleport to the street.
There is a mod where a sim
Can get into a car, use it as the travel button and literally drive off the lot. I havent used it yet but I have watched someone use it. Its by warronkcc. Not sure why sims couldn't have done something like this but modders always figure it out first.
the randomness of the previous installations is what made them so unique. the girls fighting at the back in 2:53 and the tree setting on fire is just the tip of the iceberg
The games felt ALIVE! And not like a video game. I remember wondering what terrible thing would happen in a day, because you didn't know what was possible. My sim got ill, and bored, so he went bowling, and when coming back home, he fell to the floor, and the grim reaper appeared! And he DIED! I had no idea that could happen and it felt too real I didn't even set time back. I saved the game, the death was real! He left a widow that would cry remembering him, and it was heart breaking, I don't think the sims 4 has anything coming anywhere close to that experience!
@@Ovyron sadly I agree, only time sim died in ts4 unintentionaly in my game was Vlad, because he came with a visit, said goodbye in the closed off garden, glitched, couldn't get out and burnt in the sun. Don't know why they made it harder for sims to die accidentally, usually the simmers' strong memories are of our sims dying by accident.

i would like to see the cars work as a rabbit hole experience. you can click on the car and select from a menu of different places to send you sim(s). an example could be, "send your sim to the grocery store". it would act as a rabbit hole, and when the sims arrives to the store, it just comes up as a pop up menu of groceries to buy. (similar to the way you can order groceries through cottage living.) you can send your sims to the gym(they would gain the fitness skill while they are away)
Fr it could have that and then just recycle the “travel” option from the phone and boom, cars.
If it’s a rabbit hole, I don’t want it. I’m tired of the fucking rabbit holes. Rabbit holes and loading screens are 99% of the game. There’s no point in having cars if they’re going to be there and then disappear out of nowhere.

I would not be surprised if the developers at Maxis would have added cars to the game already if different people had been in charge.
Without cars and realistic roads the lots in the sims4 look like movie sets.
I love how chaos started in the video with the Sims 2 but continued into the real life with Pets expansion cameo.
The classy convertible that came with roaring heights in the sims 3 had a door animation and you could fix it up and see ur sims fix it up
They could totally do a "Transportation Pack" if they wanted to. Include the option whenever you travel to either walk, bike, use public transportation, taxi, or a personal car. Walking would be free but take the longest, biking also free but a bit quicker, public transpo would be the cheapest middle ground option, while taxi would be more expensive but faster, and a personal car would be the fastest, but cost things like gas/car payments weekly. It would change the dymanic of instantly teleporting from neighborhood to neighborhood, and different places could be further away, costing more time or money. Teens could have the option of buying a cheaper public transpo pass that would let them take buses or trains for free. Lots of ideas they could use, not sure why they have such a hate on cars in Sims 4 :(
let’s be honest, with the way sims 4 packs work on release there’d be a bug where your sim just gets deleted the second they utilize any transportation, and the bug wouldn’t be fixed until a modder does it.
Um, no. Not a pack, but a base game update. They would be totally shameless if they sold a transportation pack.

Adeepindigo also has a mod with cars where you have to get your license before getting a car and have a subway pass. I really would like cars again and I've been saying they could do it like Sim 2 with no issues. They've done it with other things like how babies used to go straight to children, they can add cars. I just feel like they're either being stubborn at this point OR they are gonna add it as their last thing for TS4 before going to TS5 just to keep people buying and playing it because "yay finally cars!"
The only want for car I have is for a carpool to pick you up for your job, honestly give me the sims 2 and 3 mashed together with sims 4 graphics and I'd be happy, I want the mail kid to whistle as they bring me my newspaper and i want the burgler back

People always said we would never get better babies, and we kinda did. Some modders have made car mods, if they can do it so can the sims guru, well, maybe not 😂 I still wonder why that sim guru commented back on one of their twitter posts and used the car emoji, along with the fairy and horse emoji, and then we got horses, sooooo, who knows 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah, they added an entirely new life stage not that long ago, I don’t think anything is impossible. We just have to be annoying enough about it lmao.

If EA does the bare minimum and puts out cars as you described, I would be even more pissed because they could have done that SEVERAL years ago. Waiting this long for cars- they’d better be good.

Dark Gia also has click to travel cars. The mod is older (2015), but still works and is free on Mod The Sims and literally called ownable cars. I love Max20’s garage pack, but have pretty much intergrated adeepindigo’s mod into my game because I like the complex travel system it adds on top of ownable cars. If I could merge them I would be happy, but since I can’t I stick with adeepindigo’s travel pack cause I like the passports and subway passes.
Sims 3 had cars and if EA had followed the natural progression of what good game developers do by building on the previous games, Sims 4 would have had airports and boats and travel in the world as if it were a open sandbox game. EA however chose to regress as if they were a child that regressed back to diapers.

Why would they listen to any of us when they’re still morons buying their stuff and continuing their business with profits. Imagine clicking the car and having the options under the "travel" section that's currently in the phone (Along with the ones Satch said from TS2). The icon is literally a car. Now we just need an actual car to interact with xD

I love how cars are in sims 2. The fact they actually open the door and get in. Instead of dissappear like sim3 and 4.
Sims 2 had so many little details. Like they would open the cabinets to grab cooking utensils.
Literally all they had to do for sims 4 was make the cars just like in sims 2 at least.
A couple of WW modders like E404 have made Cars you can wicked in and you can literally see them go at it through the car screen EA should just hire them tbh

In Sims 4 our Sims just walk outside and dematerialise.
Adding the car mechanics of Sims 1 and 2 would be perfect, no problems at all. No open world needed at all.
They could have like extra features to make them standout over just pressing ”m” like where you can send your sim away off screen while you’re still at home w other sims.
So like you could press ”go see movie with” and choose someone and if both are on lot they go to car and car disappears. And they will gain friendship while being gone, or romantic or whatever.

I agree. I don’t see why they can’t make them function the same way they did in Sims 2. In the worlds that don’t have streets, like Sulani, they can use off road vehicles like ATVs, scooters and motorbikes and still just have the sim disappear after pulling out of the driveway, the same way they did in Sims 2. I believe they should have functional boats and planes as well. I still think it may happen.

They should make a fixing pack with items from sims 1 2 and 3 objects that we have to put back together and fix to use like uh... The dismantled heart bed? 😢 I mean it could actually make sense and have an element of humour to it and it would be a nice bit of gameplay too so there's more to actually work for in the game but I doubt theyd do something that fun
You know, Satch, we have other vehicles in Sims 4 than the spaceship you mentioned. We have bikes and boats. And also horses, if you can consider them vehicles 😁 Yes, cars would probably be harder to implement, but not impossible. They did that in Sims 3, where you could have car in a mountain lot far from closest road, so, in Sims 4 this can work too. They just need to want to add cars into the game.
But, today, I've learned something new about Sims 2 from you. I always thought in Sims 2 that driveway MUST be connected to road and that's how i always build my houses there. But you showed me that's not necessary. Well, it's true that you learn something new every day.
If I'm not mistaken, some Wicked Whims animations can use CC cars for "it". I haven't tested those yet although I have installed them for WW. 😆

I loved Sims 2 so much... It just had the best features!
The best shot on cars we had with the journey to batuu imo. We could have a hover car/ship we could fix and „drive” off (probably similar to brooms). It would give batuu some real meaning and make us buy it more 😅
I really want cars like in Sims 2. cars are so necessary to blow off money. Like rich people have a bougie car because otherwise you Just save more and more money for literally nothing
i love the idea of being able to buy a car to fix it up! it would also be super cool if cars were like the travel option in the phone, so when you select travel on the car a menu pops up asking what sims you'd like to bring. if the car only has 4 seats you can only bring 4 sims, and if you had a full household of 8 sims you could buy a minivan to fit them all in. also teen sims being able to prank cars with eggs and spray paint would be cool!

The Sims 4 really should have cars, even if the feature is really simple. The Sims 1 (videos I make on my channel) is literally just a fun carpool that enters the road, makes a special noise, and leaves tied to your career level. Even that would be great!
Of course, we all love how The Sims 2 worked because it expanded the ability to see cars and use cars which is ideal. The Sims 3 took away the ability for sims to open and close doors, but they still got in the car and went to their destination.
This is a simple no-brainer for immersion with a feature that has always existed for The Sims!
I have over 9,500 hours in this game. For the first time - in San Myshuno - I watched a car back out from a parking spot, pause, then continue forward down the road. WTF EA? The unusable cars have better AI and pathing than the actual SIMS.
That happened outside the apartment across the hall from Penny Pizzazz iirc.

What i think they could do is if there is a road in the world, there could be cars, like how with seasons, since Oasis springs is a desert, it can't rain but with newcrest, it can rain, but instead, if there is a world without roads there is no cars but if there is a world with roads then you can drive, just a little idea

There are functional cars already available and a functional motorcycle; if modders can do this, it makes no sense that EA cannot.
Stuff pack about cars would be a very good idea tbh. It would function like s2 and then if it had any ambition EA would make it so we can have some sort of station to build car parts and you could end up with lot of different car models as a result of being a mechanic. Which could be an intricate skill. (Not that they'd ever do this)

Remember how much chaotic fun it was to teach your teen sims to drive in Sims 3. The car would crash every other sims hour. Sims 4 is a lost cause.

as the world is closed, they could make a game pack about f1. maybe a new type of lot where you can drive or race with your friends or something like that would be interesting.
I'm surprised that EA hasn't added carpools at the very least. Even The Sims 1 has them!

personally i feel like they could of gotten away with the game being closer to sims 3 console it's close to it like the area of the neighborhood is open and could walk to lot or take a car to drive to a certain out of zone and car dosen't really need to have a driveway but infront of the lot near.
Like i have the concept of travel time going to other neighborhood via car and all that the time may go up from the point of travel to getting there via loading screen and all
Why can’t they work the way bikes/brooms work? And just stay on the road? Once the sim gets out of the vehicle on a community lot maybe the car just goes in their inventory?

On sims 2 cars WORK in closed world, they CAN work in sims 4 too if they want.

A lot of things people say about cats aren't true, or at least they're not always true.
But the one thing I'll absolutely say about cats. They were almost always indecisive. Frustratingly so.
Dogs on the other hand are almost always willing to commit to their actions. Regardless of the consequences. They're like a train wreck waiting to happen.
