The way you started the game helped me a lot to go from there, literally my issue was the beginning and then I smashed the whole game, with only archers. Tip: I placed donjons around the beach and I placed 10 archers in each, I was able to destroy some transport ships lowering his unit numbers, sadly he was able to destroy 2 castles and kill all my villagers but at that moment of the game, I had almost 10k of each resource, so I was good to go even without any villager.
I quite like this scenario and the Vortigern one. It has a mix of thinking outside the box and some sneaky resource restrictions that make things tricky but not 100% impossible. I did find that this one was particularly hard though because the smaller population level makes taking the castles hard at the start.
Grey was a freaking monster with those cav and crossbows. Fortunately grey had no rams, so he couldnt break the walls. I sniped all his trebs with my longbows.
Ah yes, having limited gold income while your opponent has infinite resources. And there's an achievement for only using rams? This truly has the all trappings of a good scenario.
for the sake of my mental health I had to reduce the difficulty on this scenario, you are very short of gold, stone, population and time is your worst enemy.
I beat the mission on hard with the achievement. 1. know where there relics are and send your monk to collect to 4 in the south ASAP. Keep collecting relics as you can. 2. use all your starting gold to get fletching and as many longbows as you can afford. 3. Move on the orange base in SW england. Use the hero to lure the army out and from the base and let your archers kill them. Once the troops are dead use your knights and heros to fight inside the minimum range of the castle. They are in feudal so no murder holes. The knights and heroes are tankey so try not to lose anyone. KEEP YOUR MISSIONARY HERO ALIVE AT ALL COSTS. You should be able to take over the castle about 10 minutes into the game. The town has some gold mines. 4. You want a big ball of longbows with a core of norman knights to act as a front line. You have to be aggressive cause the enemy hits castle at 20 minutes an imp at 1 hr. 5. When you get access to Ireland, move fast. Their troops are poor, but if you don't take out their production buildings quickly, they will overwhelm you.
I cheesed the map. Sniped gray's boats before they could land. This was extremely difficult for me and I feel no shame in using savestates and porpusefully quitting the game to know the locations of the relics. Especially because you couldn't build any castles.
Ornlu also does that but not directly. He finishes the scenario in standard difficulty first to know the locations of everything and also to determine the best strategy for that scenario.
This scenario was unnecessary annoying to play. The no Gold on the mainland lead me to just take 1 castle and then just def until I grinded through ireland with light cav for gold acess, classic build and destroy with actual ressources at the base camp allows you to be way more active
I ignored far east and managed to defeat grey. At 1.48 scenario allowed me to declare victory without conquering remaining castles. I had conquered 2 by that time.
Apropos of nothing, I think "coronated" is incorrectly used - it should be 'crowned' as the former is not a verb version of the noun. In any case, I really like this scenario (along with Komnenos).
I liked Komnenos, but there is a bug. I destroyed all enemies, but the program said that one civilization was still alive. I searched all the map but didn't find any. I declared victory in S.Sofia, the command was accepted, but anything happened. I was frustrated. No medals.
I did this mission on moderate and started with killing wales and after destroying the castles without walls. Not the easiest scenario for sure and I did it on my 2nd attempt.
I wanted to chill a bit, so I full walled south of London, and no AI ever dared to seriously attack the wall, or the abandoned London. But then the invasion happened and I died. In the second try I built towers along the landing points and destroyed most of the invasion force before it even landed with a population of just 90.
This, Alexios Kemnonis, and Vertigern are ridiculous on hard mode I'd say this is the worst of all of them. Your on a timer until Henry attacks with Trebs an a huge army, if you lose your wonder it's game over, and your constantly getting raided by 4 AI players, donjons are garbage compared to castles which you can't build, your relying on relic gold and the 4 AI also take the relics whilst your constantly searching for them. If your a novice player like me you've no chance of finishing this campaign on hard mode.
This one is actually pretty easy. On my first try I only conquered 6 castles when the invasion started. But fortunately there is more than enough stone on the map to build enough towers to simply destroy the transport ships (you just have to manually order your towers to attack, because you can't change diplomacy to "enemy")
I had the same problem, I was just able to kill Welsh and Irish after capturing my first castle. This is enough though to make dungeons on the shore and kill enemy transport.
Surrounded by enemies with very little gold. Yup, this sure is that kind of scenario.
What a middle name, Ornlu Stephen Wolf.
It's weird how Stephen's wife was also Matilda. At first I was like: Why is Matilda fighting on your side against herself?
Horrible histories made a song about the two Matilda's during the Anarchy. All set on the rythm of different ABBA songs
@@ignacejespers8201 Matildas and Eleanors were all the rage in England during 11th - 13th centuries...
@@ignacejespers8201 thank you for reminding me of this
@@antivanov82 Also Elizabeths
Don't forget to keep exploring the map.

Population is what drove me mad, especially when you suddenly had the army on Ireland appear and take even more space!
Played this today. Defending the Tower of London is a requirement now.

I had anxiety watching you lose the three monks

This maps is perfect to making the sheep farm! 🐑

I haven't bought the DLC, this is the first mission that somewhat appeals to me

Trebuchets make it a lot easier
how is this one classified as two swords when its so much harder than many of the three swords
Literally just finished this mission and it was a chore...
Should've made more Longbowmen

That's how I was able to beat the scenario with only 70 max pop. Thanks !

With dungeons on the shore to sink enemy transport it is doable even with few micro skills.
So your full name is Ornlu Stephen the Wolf?

That's what I did as well
I did the same.
This is so annoying , no gold and three minutes after capturing one castle everyone sends constant waces to me and i cant capture anything else
I had the same problem, I was just able to kill Welsh and Irish after capturing my first castle. This is enough though to make dungeons on the shore and kill enemy transport.
