@@Apokalypsiis Hardest AI back when 1st DLC was pretty dumb. You are guaranteed to take down 1 AI by dark or fuedal rush within minutes. The rest 2 just overwhelm them by good economy, no micro required. But still, you need to be above some casual players to do so.

Hera needs to know how to get AI to do what you want, if he wants AI to be his teammate(s). Taunt examples 43: What is Your Strategy 56: Train Units Which Counter the Enemy’s Army 80: Attack the Enemy With Scout Cavalry 87: Attack the Enemy With Knights 93: Attack the Enemy With Halberdiers and Rams
Add '104' (Don't resign) to that list, so the AI will fight to the last man. You can also use '50' (build fortification at the flared location) and they'll make castles and towers backed by military buildings at that spot. It's great for getting the AI to castle rush. In arena, '54' (build a wall between flared locations) is useful to get the AI to link your bases and replug holes in their wall.
Things you really dont want to say in Imp when playing archers: "Shit, i forgot about the Goth Player" But as ever great content^^ For the AI: In my experience the AI is kinda bad in reacting to drops (any kind. Drop a house and it get confused^^). Let it be alone, and it becomes a really decent opponent
It's possible it could have gone a bit differently if you had saved your AI ally early. Extreme AI is much stronger in the late game than early game. They can't really respond to aggression well when they're trying to build up, mainly because they only react to alarms, not to having enemy units in their vision (easy to just massacre a woodline with them barely moving a single vil). But when they're fully boomed and in full army production they actually play decently well.
Well the issue with the AIs are that they are attracted by castle. When I started out I was also only playing offline and what I learned pretty quickly is that even the extreme AI will send lots of army and villagers constanly into castles, especially grouped castles. So when Father castle dropped the AI's gate instantly, the Ai was screwed. Constantly sending what little units it had + stray villagers into it like that Mangonel you watched die. AI can't deal with dropped towers, TCs or castles. Douching is literally a free win in a 1v1 vs AI. So unless you forbid them from cheesing the AI like that it will always fail hard.
When father was able to execute the FC castle drop on the AI that meant that it was gonna be 6v1. AIs are terrible at defending castle drop rushes, more so when collecting res (3tc or imp). Perhaps adding a second very strong clown like FEDEX or similar could be viable. Kudos to you Hera for trying such tough machup!

I think if you would’ve helped the AI, it would have been able to do its non stop spam in the late game which would’ve helped you with the pressure, still this was really fun to watch and your commentary was really funny.
Fast imp into feitorias with Portuguese is a fairly common strategy for the extreme AI to attempt on arena. The issue is they don't really know what to do if they get pressured, especially by castle drops and such. I think you'll find the extreme AI is much stronger once they're fully boomed on max pop. They also like to trade a lot as well in that situation. If you can find a way to get the AI to that point, i think you'll find them to be a much more useful ally lol
As a person who regularly plays games with/vs AI with friends, I can tell you that you got so unlucky with AI being Portugese. They always fast imp into do nothing when they get that civ. Same with Turks.
I think in the future for these 1v5 or 1v6s, you should be allowed to lame but they shouldn't be. So you can really leverage your micro into advantages pre-castle and slow them down before they all get to similar pop and just roll over you.

I enjoy playing singleplayer vs AI's, however, I just have to let it boom cause it dies to any aggressive strat. It is pretty good at booming. So yeah, a early castle push? GG.

It is strong but there is AI that was made by players and at some map they stronger. For example GamesGod, if I am not mistake. I work in the AI area and was very impressed by that video. I hope in future you test different AI in command) But now I stop writing and run to write my own AI)
I enjoyed that, thank you :). Yeah AI is kinda useless. It burned through its resources going fast Imperial which why it folded so quickly when Father seiged it. I think you might be able to make it some what useful if you give the AI like 200% or 300% economy boost. It might be more competent if its fast imperial and still have resources left over to deal with any early rushes.
my experience with AI teammates is... rough, there are some "advanced" commands, you can say like, attack X player, build X here, attack with X unit, etc. but its kinda random if they will obey you or not. AFAIK, there are some modded AIs or something that may play better or accept commands better, etc. but idk exactly. also, a command they usually obey is one that you tell them (early) to prepare to give you res, so they will sling you quite a bit, might be useful one more thing you could do to improve them is give them a handicap. they wont play better per se but will have more res and be a bit faster. about 120 is probably more than enough.
I play mainly AI, and on Arena it is very easy. They are dumb as a stump when it comes to castles. Drop a castle and they run infinite skirms or mango against it for example. Maybe you need a different then standard AI. Viper tested with some I think.
To make the ai stronger you could of had the extreme ai had more pop. With 300 or 400 pop it can get really scary since it can easily micro manage an economy that large.
This is one of those games where it almost might have gone better on non-arena, since the AI did such weird terribleness on arena and hardly got military. A regular open map extreme AI would have at least been useful. :P I haven't personally done a lot of extreme AI on arena, but I wonder if they don't perform at their regular level on that type of map. AI is always super aggro towards any kind of drop (castle, tower, TC, regular buildings) and will attack them immediatly with what they got, ofcourse only around their actual base. So Father knew how to cheese the AI hard and FC castle dropped it into Oblivion. That is all that happened.
You got to use commands for AI and tell it what todo. Its not sentient so it doesnt know the strats we do, so gotta help it ouþ. There are tons of commands for this... so much more than thr base AOE2

Honestly, I'm not sold on this IA matchup, specially on Arena, and as someone told (my biggest secret, noooo) Castle drop/Tower rush the IA basically shuts them down. I think a 2 v 6 with like a viewer would be more fun
I play a lot of Arena with AI team mates and opponents. Basically with certain civs (turks, portoguese, ecc..) they will always go fast imp, even as flank, but then instead of going all in with army they put down a second (and third) tc. After you kill their first wave of bc and hc they are done and they take so much time to recover. Btw, I think arena is kind of unfair for a 2 vs 6, may be arabia next time?
Arena is probably the easiest map to deal with Extreme AI, even very casual player like me can do it, I think it was the first map for me where I was able to win Extreme AI.
Ai has been bugged on arena since they introduced mule cart civs. Fast imps into a boom now for some reason. Try immortal ai next time? If it can even play closed maps.

Extreme AI is more like 900 ELO nowadays and it dies to a rush every time. If you help it surivive it's decent in the late game.
Exactly, Extereme AI does not how to defend against early aggro.
To fix AI early game lackluster - need to give it 130%+ handicap.

AI is very strong once it is fully boomed, but it has no idea how to defeat castle drops. Even tower rush on arena is very strong vs AI.

I think AI just needs some safe time to stabilize their economy (min~25), and then they snowball well and would be less useless.

I think your only chance was to use the advantage of having extra pop. There were those castles to worry, but you really needed to boom earlier.
