Hi Simon, I recall lining my club up with my toes to get the "direction" .... I think my toes had more interest in a nice walk through the rough or woods though!! You beat me to the 60 by at least 7 days!! All the best!!
There are many ways of getting set up properly David. I wish I could do it consistantly with a camera. Ah well, never mind. I'm the same birthday as Seve. Cheers
It is very easy to become out of calibration with aim. Any news from the golf club you have applied for? What's your plan if you stay on their waiting list?
Very easy and you hit a bad shot without knowing why. No news on the golf club. We will get an email at the beginning of March asking if we still want to be on the list. Then it's down to how much churn there is on the membership. If it's the usual 5% we will get in. If we don't get in I have no idea what I will do.
None whatsoever David. I had a camera for holiday snaps and that's it. I used to put the camera directly behind the ball and I now know you have to offset it a bit more to have a better view down the hole. I don't even know how to use the camera properly to be honest. There are a lot of buttons I have never pressed!!!!!
Interesting, not least as I'm not sure how I aim on full shots!!! I don't stand behind the ball, nor do I find a spot on the grass in front of the ball that I have to go over. I just point the square edge of the club in the right direction, and fire!!!! As for putting, I have recently experimented with a line on the ball, lining it up from behind, but I am not sure that I am any more accurate than just using a blank part of the ball and putting by instinct on longer putts (though the line method is better for short putts, I grant you!). The other thing is, with wearing glasses, how accurate is my view? Having astigmatism means that where I aim and where I hit the shot can be completely at odds with each other!!!! Now I know why I don't do this in a "formal" sort of way, as I tend to overthink stuff!!! But, I will give it a try to see whether it can make a difference!!!
With the full shot I draw a line backwards from the target to my ball. With putting I aim at a spot either side of the hole and would never pick a spot right in front of the ball. Now that is strange. Glasses are a pain, I find the bottom edge of the glasses is always in the way of something. I don't keep my chin up because I can't bloody see! I'm not a line man. My caddy on Red Mountain used the line or makers name to line up the putt. I didn't mind but I wouldn't choose to do it myself.
@ I was watching the golf on friday. There was a guy doing the walk up the putting line trick. Points the fingers, lines up the ball and then missed by a foot. Of course all of this took a lot of time.
@@peteriles9957 No gimmies on any round with a card in your hand. Some years back in the thursday night 9 hole stableford a group was giving gimmies as long as 5 feet. They all got disqualified.
I decided to get a hot car around me with heated seats. The problem after Thailand is I really do feel the cold. In the years I don't go I don't have a problem playing through November, December and January.

I use that alignment tip for hitting everything including putting always works for me as long as I follow procedure every time 👍
It's funny but with putting I never line up to something in front of the ball. I pick a spot at the hole. I guess whatever ends in a rattle works.
It's freezing time here too. 🌬
It's like the bahamas here today - must be 3 degrees!
Thanks again mate. I know if I hit a straight pull or push its my alignment at set-up. I think I have spatial awareness issues.😁
Spatial awareness? Now I know who hits my car in the car park!

Good video Simon. Before you started your TH-cam channel did you have any experience in photography and filming?

@@davidwalters313 Just don't ever ask me what those other buttons are for. Cheers
Simon if your “aim is down the toilet” I’d say that’s good news. Keep up the good work 👍😎
with this freezing weather im having trouble finding the 'club' let alone aiming it 😂😂😂
That's a good aim until you get the splash..........

@@thehairygolfer I wonder if this new-fangled Aimpoint thing would work for either of us???

Your dedication is astounding. Why not wear two gloves. ?
2 Winter gloves works for me. 🤘🏻😎👍🏻

Go get a hot drink inside ya Simon ☕
