    You hit the nail on the head with these three tips. The only other one that I would add is pricing. Did you go by what the market on Etsy was for an average price? Did you price high, low or average? I've been on Etsy since 2008 in one shop and 2010 in another. I finally figured out what you said in this video as far as multiples goes and getting several sales in a row to boost a listing and get more views in my shop. The way I discovered this was when the pandemic hit last year and we went on lock down in the USA. With no income coming in my husband asked me to list face masks in my shop. I told him no one would buy them from me. But after a few weeks of him encouraging me that they would sell I decided to ask some friends first if they needed a mask. Just like you mentioned in your last video about when you started your shop. You started by asking those you knew and some supported you. At first all of my friends said No, they were good. Then two weeks later I started getting text messages back asking was my offer still good. I said Yes! let me make a listing in my Etsy shop and you can pay me through there. Well, after about 4 or 5 friends purchased and the word of mouth got out through them. I made over 100 sales in two months. I had been making about 100 sales a year for the last 11 years at that point. But as soon as the marketplace got saturated with face masks my sales tanked again. I 'm still hearing crickets in my one shop. So lesson learned. But how do you get those four or five sales again to help another item with multiples take off? That is where I am stuck. But after having my shop for this long I'm not about to stop trying. I know it will turn around soon.

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a video about how I price my wreaths on Etsy. The same thing applies for other handmade items. Maybe that will be helpful 😊. And yes, the face mask experience you had really shows how having a trendy and highly searched item in your shop can really help out! To get your regular items to pick up some sales, I would have a mix of great pics and SEO to help get found and clicked on from Etsy, and also try to drive your own traffic from social media. I’ve personally had the best luck with Pinterest (I also have a video about that) and Instagram. I hope that helps! Keep it up my friend!

      Hi! I actually answered this very question on my “answering your questions” video I posted last week. It just means selling the same thing over and over from one listing. This increases your listing quality score, which helps your listing rank higher in Etsy’s search. I hope that clears it up! And thanks for watching! 😊

    Hi Jenny! I've been looking at your videos for a while, and they have inspired me to go forward selling wreaths on Etsy. Although I know, opening any business is risky, but what's probability to make any sells on Esty? How can you find out what is most best-selling wreaths on Etsy, so I can have some listings? Thanks in advance! 😀

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s great! As far as Etsy goes, it’s not at all about probability to get sales, but the product and your marketing. You need to make a good product and you need to get it found. That’s basically it. Obviously there’s a lot of work that goes into both those things, but that’s what it boils down to.

    Hi there! I love the idea of making just a few pieces and making multiples! Ive been doing custom wreaths for awhile but am looking to make more sales. Multiples may be an answer! So if I come up with a super cute Christmas wreath should I buy all the materials ahead of time? I tend to see materials selling out a lot as the season goes on. But if i buy all the extra materials and the wreath doesn’t sell then what?
    Basically would you recommend buying materials and making 1 wreath until you know it sells or buy all materials up front and make a few and just hope it sells so that the materials don’t run out of stock? Hopefully that makes sense, thank you so much! You are so inspiring! I hope I can be as successful as you❤️

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, definitely do multiples! It will change your business!! And I know the struggle! It definitely can be a guessing game figuring out how much to buy. I like to buy versatile materials that can work in many different wreath designs. Then eventually you’ll start to see the trends and have a better idea about what will sell. But if you find a greenery or some kind of seasonal material that you absolutely love and is nice quality, buy it up as soon as you can find a good deal! But I typically buy enough materials to make at least 5-10 of a new design. And if you see it start to sell pretty well, try and stock up more. I hope that helps!

    Great video! Thank you for sharing your secrets to success. I was wondering if selling many different types of items makes a difference. You sell wreaths exclusively but I would like to sell things I've sewn as well as jewelry I make and other crafts. Do you feel it's better to focus on one type of product or would an array of different items work well?

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s up to you, but every new wreath I make I try and have enough supplies to make around 5. Then I can see if it sells well, and then If those 5 sell well, I’ll go restock as much supplies as I can. Of course I like to make one of a kind wreaths too because it’s fun. Plus it’s a great way to use up extra materials. I hope that helps!!

    Do customers prefer a 14 inch wreath better than a 18 inch? I'm new at this....so many questions 🤔

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A wreath made on a 14” grapevine typically ends up being around 20” in diameter total, and that is a very popular size in my shop. Most of my listings also offer the larger size, made on an 18” grapevine (22-24” total diameter) and those sell pretty well too, but are much more expensive because they cost more to make and ship. I think the price of the smaller size is more appealing and that’s why it sells more often. I hope that answers your question!

    Thanks for this video! So…… about how many sales should you get off of a single wreath to know that it’s the one you want to do multiples for. At what point do you know it’s time to buy up supplies for that said wreath. I have one wreath that I e sold 3 of so would that be a contender or should I wait? Thanks for your time and advice Jenny!

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, if you’ve sold 3 of one wreath, definitely try and stock up on more supplies so you can keep selling it over and over. The more you sell in a short period of time, the higher it may rank in Etsy’s search. So it should be easier to sell once you’re already sold 3. I don’t really have a set number, I just always try and make new designs that I can sell over and over. I really only make one of a kind designs to use up leftover supplies.

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be very difficult to rank in search on Etsy, especially if your shop is new. If your shop is new, you’ll most likely need to drive a lot of your own traffic. Eventually, if you have good keywords and tags, along with good quality listing scores that are built up over time by a lot of different factors, then you’ll start seeing your items more often in search. It also depends on how narrow your search is. I hope that helps!

    When you say multiples, how do you tell buyers there is more than one available?

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You just add the amount available to your listing. If there’s a small amount left, Etsy will often say that under the listing. But I wouldn’t worry about that. You don’t even need to have the listing fully stocked with the full amount you can make. The same listing selling over and over “multiple” times is what builds that listing quality score and makes your listing rank higher in search.

    • @JennysWreathBoutique
      @JennysWreathBoutique  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s great that you’re growing every week! That momentum will keep building and have a snowball effect! As far as your fees, how in the world are your fees so high? Is that including your shipping costs? Your fees should only be 6.5% Etsy fees, and another 3% for payment processing. So less than 10%. Unless all of your sales are coming from Etsy offsite ads (you can check this in your fees breakdown) which would take another 15%. But if you make under $10k a year, you can opt out of offsite ads. However, if all your sales are coming from that, I’d leave them on. Hope that helps!
