my blind reaction to P-2 and Sisyphus prime!!
P-2 and Sisyphus Prime are going to kick my ass despite my 900 hours in Ultrakill Speedrunning! Wish me luck!

Note that you do not have to P-rank Minos Prime to get P-2, you just have to kill him.
it was locked for lots of people that didnt p rank minos so idk
in the initial release you had to. i think hakita put out a patch the next day tho
@@toast1612 no it was not, I had a d rank on p-1 and the door still opened for me just a couple hours after release
If this is true for p-2 I might just p rank all of act 3 for p-3 bc ain't no way I'm p ranking p-2

Really fuckin cool that they worked in a lore reason for why the style ranking exists. Love when games work in canonical reasons for their gameplay elements and mechanics. Like how Destiny's PVP is canonically just Guardians fighting against each other for training cause theyre immortal.
the sentry lore has a reason for why the game looks like it does, thats cool too

the funniest thing about fighting minos and sisyphus is when dissapearing off your screen means its a cue to an attack
That was by far the most insightful, badass and clean blind reaction to P-2 I've seen so far on TH-cam. I like the commentary style, your skills and movement tech are ridiculous and I love the lore knowledge stuff. This was a great watch, thank you for your service
Glad you enjoyed! In the grander scheme of things, I am nowhere near the most skilled players of Ultrakill. Players like Haze a d Cynkaj are easily 10x better than me. just as a note on why the stats pop up wasn't showing up, it's because you haven't beat the level yet
in order for that to show up, you need to complete the level at least once
And this is the case for every level in Ultrakill. I'm guessing it's to prevent players from trying to gauge how much they have left of a level by referencing the Kills score

If a game's design is good, it doesn't even frustrate you if you die after a while of playing. That happened to me with Celeste lol
yea the closest he says to a swear is frick
You get so used to killing off annoying enemies that you don't actually learn to avoid damage.
Also parrying helps a lot with Sisyphus, and you basically need to parry him with your feedbacker, or else it won't parry at all/unless you're in the correct position.
I know shotgun parries work too, I've gotten a few on accident when he teleports and claps.
2nd phase being unparryable really messes you up of you're relying on parries though

You did really good for a blind playthrough, when i initially reached P-2 the gauntlet before sisyphus beat my ass and sisyphus himself utterly destroyed me by the time i beat him i had accumulated 378 restarts 😂 good work
Lol I had 416 restarts when I beat P-2 on Standard for the first time
When I beat him for the first time I had 99 restarts
My first clear took 2 hours and over 200 deaths. I've never been so humbled by a game before. It took me 50 days of grinding to get my P rank. P-3 is gonna break me.

Having recently finished Disco elysium, Sisyphus prime’s voice really took me by surprise.

The natural progression of the prime souls is that the next one will have prison dead before you arrive.
You break Minos out of his prison
Sisyphus breaks himself out of his prison
The next prime soul broke out of their prison already.
I'm already pissing my pants for what hell P-3 has in store and act three hasn't come out yet.
I think P-3 will have everything. An even more brutal gauntlet, a complete prison fight, and an insane Prime Boss. Gotta make that ultimate P rank count

Minos prime turned into prime soul AFTER his prisoned
Sisyphus prime was already turning a prime soul WHILE being prisoned
So the 3rd prime soul is going to be turned a prime soul before prisoned that means prison is going to be insane

I took 98+ restarts. My body physically hurt during this fight.

You can use a noise gate to reduce what gets picked up in terms of decibels. Like I have my Discord noise gate set to I think 43 decibels and it doesn't pick up my keyboard & family members unless they're screaming.
what is a noise gate, or do you know where I can find one? and do you know if it would work in OBS? that is the recorder I am using.

There’s a good chance that you know this already, but you can skip the arena just before the boss by slam storage jumping over it. If you land in front of the door at the end of the room, you will jump over the trigger for the fight and the door will be unlocked

why dont you try to parry projectiles i see the mindflayer projectiles hitting you every time
there's like 5 swordmachines attacking him constantly, it's hard to focus even if you're a speedrunner
@@naczosekkThe only way to P-Rank it without crazy speed run tech is managing to parry + dash those though

This feels like im watching a no-parry run, like please just parry a single attack intentionally for once
to be fair hes pretty hard to parry for the first time beating the level. his moves are very un-telegraphed compared to minos. and all his attacks and his body is yellow, so seeing when you can parry sometimes can be rough when your not familiar with them

at 11:03 you can see a rocket get stuck to the maurice weirdly and then spins out of control, so i think the ricoshot went for that rocket maybe?
Something weird that happened to me in this level, for some reason in the blood tunnel when i touched any of the walls it didn't teleport me, i just... sat in the blood spinning around me having my health chunked. It was super frustrating for me, but thankfully it took only 5 attempts to get through the first part and 3 more tries for the 2nd
That teleport exist only for the first few days of P-2. Hakita later removed it because people said it was disorientating.

i'm pretty sure they did but the stamina recharging was added in this update
A lot of Sisyphus's attacks aren't stopped by a parry, but are a way for players to regain stamina instead. If you don't dash at the right time, you'll still get hit by the attack

the first part with the mindflayers is actually pretty easy, due to the update adding health when parry, which makes it so you can heal and reflect the projectiles at the non Idoled things

Hint: if you see a yellow flash then that attack can only be parried at close range as soon as the yellow flash appears, if you see a blue flash it isn’t parriable.

Im not an adult and i died like 4 time in normal to p-2 and even less in violent but cant kill violent sisyphus yet (first attempt in both modes)

Because sometimes it's less effecient.
Also it might've been his muscle memory as you, well, yknow, don't really fight prime souls all too often, you're more used to fighting fodder or stronger enemies like Cerberus' or Mindflayers
@@blueaccelerator2674 but shotgun swap + boost + rocket launcher( 2 boost + 1 rocket, repeat) is higest dps combo in game(railcoin is better, but with big cooldown)
@@user-ry5oh3qt2u True, but usually all enemies get killed very fast anyway to the point it's more like extra work. Not to mention it gives less style points.
@@user-ry5oh3qt2ui mean u don't always need to play games in the most optimal way..like this dude is a speedrunner he definitely knows how to do that but maybe he just wants to play for fun sometimes. i personally play ultrakill in a way that's fun for me, and constantly just trying to deal the highest dps possible isn't reallyyyyy fun

I’m trying to p rank this level right now the boss fight is really hard so I need to practice it more but this level was designed for the cyber grinders
as a cybergrind 48th wave enthusiast, which completed the level in 28 restarts i can prove it
65th wave no-hoper. it took me 60 tries. this level was made for no human

Never touched cybergrind, took me about ~85 restarts on violent, most of which were me after immediately doing all the Act 2 p-ranks in a day then trying to figure out a strat for the double-flayer room while absolutely NOT sober lmfao (I do not recommend it I spent 30 minutes while hyped but beyond exhausted before saying "yeah I need to come back to this tomorrow")
...the strat I figured out was "oh y'know I forgot to make good on that hint from 4-3; oh that's right hakita put a saw-launcher in; oh wow this thing is extremely good huh"
Needless to say I did a lot better sober and with a new weapon in hand... though it still took me probably 20-30 of those deaths to deal with the boss tbh lol
wave 18, 52 retries. the level was never about dealing with cybergrind esque scenarios, rather about staying alive efficiently and not getting scared of everything
at this point im at wave 34 and i already p-ranked it, so i basically have nothing left to do other than cybergrind which i dont enjoy a whole lot
