Happy to hear you have a good eye dr.-so important. You mentioned the long dress. I have a problem with varicose veins in my feet and ankles and love to wear dresses, so my summer wardrobe includes a number of full length dresses and I enjoy wearing them. Have a great week!

My girls say the slip is "for lubrication!" Helps the garment flow nicely around the legs. back in the day, we wouldn't "be caught dead" without a slip, no matter what we were wearing! Hugs!

I completely agree with you and slips! A jersey dress just hangs so much better without one and I wish they would come back in fashion so my daughter would wear them 😂. I have said it before but. the garments you make are so professional and you are so good at choosing the right fabric for the pattern. I have spent so long on making a dress which has caused me problems, my own fault I thought I was being clever using one pattern for the top and another for the bottom :-( It made me think maybe I should just stop but your words of encouragement at the end of your blogs make me reconsider...so thank you for that. I feel the same way about knits and the clinginess. I tend to wear a half slip with lighter weight knits. Because of that. Thank you for the update! I’m glad your eyes are doing well and it sounds like you had an amazing meetup!

Hello Diann. I’m so glad you changed eye drs when you did! Sometimes or most times it’s the best thing for you! Glad you went and got a second opinion. And that dr was right! You are way too young to lose your vision. Or any of it! I tried to do some spring cleaning too in March before my knee surgery. I did get several drawers gone over and cleaned and reorganized. My Fla daughter did a few more jobs too but time got away from us! She got to go home to a new kitchen. Yes, her dad lol aka my hubs had spent most of March installing her new ones and all it involves. She said she went home to recoup! lol. I’m doing much better but still some pain well a lot and esp these stinging pains that come. My gp said it’s nerves trying to regenerate. And yest eve I had to have a scan on that leg. Ouch it’s so tender. I yelled when the gal was doing it in certain spots. But she knew how it can. She was great. Anyway, my leg especially knee is still quite swelled but my gp yest thought we’d better rule out a blood clot. P t l it was ok. Just swelled from my surgery, lymphedema and the previous blood clot damage. My gp had me come see her as a follow. She’s proactive. My previous gp never was very proactive. . So see, I had to be persuaded too. Change can be hard. Take care and soo happy you got to see fellow you tubers. I saw Jen in December at Joann’s near Sarasota. Yes, she’s as nice as they come. We talked forever. She’s great. Happy sewing. Hoping we’ll have a great rain free wknd we are way over the normal for now, the weather people say. It’s really pretty here, lilacs blooming n fresh grass, trees all bloomed out. Etc. love May and June in Indiana. My fav time of the year! Have a blessed wknd. Nancy.

I laughed out loud when you said you want to collect puppies. Sounds like a wonderful time meeting up with Andra and Cynthia. I did that Rhapsody hack but put inseam pockets. Unfortunately the fabric was a bit too structured for them so I really should just take them out. The dress looks good with a wide elastic belt to cinch in the waist.

Super decision to change the Dr. My regular Dr. had the nerve to retire also! My first visit with a new Dr. was terrible! I think she was 12 years old and knew everything before I even asked a question. No thank you! I've been sewing for a few years. My stash is "big", hubby calls it a hoard LOL. My closet is over half me made. Just step away and pull your hair if you have a stumble. Absolutely! I have slept and woke up with an easy, obvious solution many times. New subscriber looking forward to your next video!

I almost always wear a slip under dresses and skirts. I think they make the garments hang better. And I don’t like the dresses crawling up my legs which isn’t a problem if it’s warm and I’m not wearing tights. I prefer wearing natural fabrics so I am going to look for a cotton voile or lawn and try that. Silk would be fun and may be worth it.

I have New Look 6086 and it’s one of my fave top patterns although I struggled with the darts. I’ve never made the cami because it’s too skimpy but it will be a great start for a slip. Thanks for the idea.
Good news about your eyes and your videos are not too long for me - I love "spending time" with you! Funny story - a friend asked a young salesperson where she could find a half-slip and the young lady had no idea what my friend was talking about 😄! However, a slip can make a great difference in keeping things from clinging where we don't need clinging things! Good luck with the Love Notions dress and everything else you are doing. I want to sew but too many things are getting in the way right now, unfortunately...☹.

You have a great ideas on tje slips...That's what I had been thinking about..That lady that lost her sight because of a doctor, looks like they could seek another doctor to be her gwt better. .That's so sad. .That doctor needs som.eone to take her to court..I usually can overlook some things but that's aweful!! I understand! I hate sticking the pages together. I do love the Love Notions patterns and you don’t need to trim the pages. If you decide to try one… you might try a free or low cost top… that way you won’t be out much of you hate it. Printing the page with the test box is vital. Then measure it and be sure it’s the correct size. Printing at 100% scale usually is all that’s needed. Thank you for watching! ♥️🍓

I have not tried any printing of indie patterns. Mainly because I'm not comfortable doing the printing.
I understand! I hate sticking the pages together. I do love the Love Notions patterns and you don’t need to trim the pages. If you decide to try one… you might try a free or low cost top… that way you won’t be out much of you hate it. Printing the page with the test box is vital. Then measure it and be sure it’s the correct size. Printing at 100% scale usually is all that’s needed. Thank you for watching! ♥️🍓
