    It's amazing how well some people age. Your grandfather is so alert and animated, and even his voice sounds young.He's managing that tractor very well.

    Your granddad looks great for his years, it's brilliant to be able to get out and about and get on with the work and not be stuck inside looking at the four walls thinking that the day will never end, time flies when you have something to do 👍

    Brilliant video Declan! Can't say enough how much I appreciate you sharing videos of the Farming Master showing off his amazing skills. Grandad is a great inspiration! Doesn't matter what color the paint is - he'll make it work. Great privilege to learn from his wisdom. My thanks to your Grandad for feeding us all through it all. Prayers for both of you to continue your success!

    Your grandfather is a spry old bugger. You want old school silage I grew up chopping corn with a tow behind Allis-Chalmers chopper and when I was really young we used side discharge feed wagons to haul it. When I was about 7 or 8 we bought a dump wagon and started hauling from the field with my grandfather's old International Loadstar gas powered single axel dump truck with plywood body extensions and a few years later with my Dad's 1984 GMC Brigadier tandem axel dump truck. I remember using our Case W14 loader and a 1960 something John Deere dozer to pack the silage in the silage pit

    • @IDoAgri

    • @IDoAgri
      @IDoAgri  ปีที่แล้ว

      No i wouldn't say the bales are any heavier with belts although they do pack a great bale, I'm sure the modern chamber balers contractors use today stuff in a lot more grass! I was only able to get sisal from McCabe feeds in Ireland, it is not easily got but i will do more research for next season and hopefully there will be more options there.

    if you are active outside, you are healthy. Today humans make "FITNESS" in dark rooms with artificial light, hanging around in dark discos or bars, sitting in front of TV 24/7, eating shit and playing on their stupid smartphone. What do they expect from their lifetime? ? ?

      No? What is then?

    • @nealeberly4325
      @nealeberly4325 ปีที่แล้ว

      Old school would be with a tractor pulled chopper and wagons from my experience. Baleage and bunkers are the current things I see around here. Bagging for the smaller operations and bunkers for the commercial operations.

    • @IDoAgri
      @IDoAgri  ปีที่แล้ว

      I get you there but in terms of baleage and bale making i would consider most of tractors and machines bar the tanco Wrapper are all 80's and 90's spec. Im using a belt baler without any chopping mechanism and bound with twine instead of netting. Silage in Ireland and the Uk only became popular in the late 70's 80's when they would be using machines of similar design to mine. I would consider this to be Old School in comparison to todays big McHale Fusion Balers and others that are packed full of technology that has developed over the 30-40 years since my baler was produced.

    • @nealeberly4325
      @nealeberly4325 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IDoAgri baleage a done by and for the smaller operators here in the USA. When u get to the big operations with several thousand cattle its mostly contracted out to commercial cutters. They run large harvesters if several hundred horsepower chopping directly to trucks or dump wagons. They pack in huge bunkers holding many tons. You are probably old school compared to them. Works fine for smaller acreage. We cant all be big and modern.
