Very nice. I see on the one you’ve already modified you have a flywheel with no holes in and is smooth. Is that a product you bought or did it come on the engine or is it modified.
I think you could but you will need to mount it low on the firebox to clear the jackshaft. I found an Erector Set piece that was perfect for mounting the chain screw to the firebox. I used it to add steering to my Mamod Road Roller. It made it look a lot better. I will look up the name of the Erector Set part and post it here when I do.
I have the D409 aswell and wanted to swap the front and rear wheels for the mamod ones, if I swap them both is there any need to put the wilesco outer ring back on? And do the mamod wheels fit straight onto the wilesco axle?
Hi Daniel. They will fit on, but there will be a little bit of play as the Wilesco axle is a slightly smaller diameter, but they still work just as well. The won't be need to put the outer rim on if you're changing both the front and the rear wheels.
@@nightlightabcd I've never had the ring under it stay on the axle. Have you tried applying a little heat as the thinner material should heat up quicker allowing it to come off a little easier? Just a thought.
I almost rolled off the couch with laughter when you "removed" the Wilesco rear wheel! Yeah, that's how it's done!!
Why don't they ever show the full process?

When dressing my Wilesco's, I have seen any reason to change the drive wheels. I would like to find pin stripping decals for the Wilesco drive wheels.
Why not just use the mamod wheels as they are and fit thicker rubber road tyres.
Can i add steering to Wilesco D430 engine?

@@donaldvincent Yes great thanks!

As far as I know, Wilesco axels are
4mm and Mamond's are 4,8 (3/16).
So there is a a difference !
(0,8mm = 1/32").
how to you take the wheels off though?
The dome ends are just pressed on so I just simply pull them off with pliers.
@@edsshedandotherprojects122 thank you
@@edsshedandotherprojects122 That doesn't work! The dome comes off but not the ring under it and it is next to unmovable!
