I was just this afternoon , contemplating firing my Wilesco Roller that I got for Christmas when I was 9 in 1969 to show my kids & some other young people what proper toys look & smell like ! Now it's on for sure ! Absolutely love the winch set up , thank you for the inspiration .
What sort of thing would you have to do to paint over the chrome/nickel on the boiler? Etching primer? Also what sort of paint were you using, thinking of doing a roller soon.
Hi, from memory I think I just gave the shiner boiler a quick rough up with some fine sand paper. I painted it with stove paint (the kind you would spray a log stove with) as it is heat resistant. It’s worked well.

I’ve since moved and downsized the collection a bit so it was sold I am afraid.
