I was privileged to see his last concert in San Carlos, Calif Dec 1964. He could not finish it due to throat cancer we found out FEB 15, 1965 when he passed away in a Los Angeles hospital. I cried for days as he was my all time favorite singer. Friend and I had driven from San Carlos to Las Vegas to see him. We were avid tv show watchers. Johnny Mathis all time favorite and he became my favorite to this day at age 88!

Very true,,indeed specially the songs of Nat king Cole bing Crosby,frank Sinatra! Those vocalists remind me of my dad ,they are his favorites,in fact i inherited his liking,but I included other singers like pat Boone,Steve Lawrence,Johny mathis n other balladeers!

During my adolescense in Palmira, Colombia, my classmates called me "Nat", because I liked and sang the Nat King Cole music in Spanish language (1957). Then, when I grow up and I could understand English, I started to love his feeling. Right now I´m 80 years old and I remember his music with nostalgia. Nat King Cole is a great singer for ever!

Still fantastic to this day. Nat had some amazingly talented musicians behind him. The string section players did amazing things in those days that no sampler or electronic instruments can pull off easy .The dynamics were incredible. The musicians in those days with those acoustic instruments were virtuosos and correct and played the hell out of those instruments . As a modern day m.usician composer using samples and VST as well as hardware samplers and computers trust me it's hard as ever with a lot of editing to pull off those dynamics...Those were real musicians.,

Nat King Cole is the 1#&Top Male Vocalist of his generation in my opinion.He was the first black man who had his ownTV show in the 50’swhich started as a 15min.program then went to a 30min program.His problem was because he was a black man,he had trouble keeping sponsors so that’s why his show was canceled due to being a black man.He started a Jazz trio as the King Cole Trio first without a drummer was asked to sing at a nightclub his trio played at & the rest is history.He was the first to use Nelson Riddle&His Orchestra arrange his music&songs.His diction while singing was perfect so you could listen to every single word he sang clearly.He did appear in two movies called”St.Louis Blues”about W.C.Handy.and”Cat Ballou”as traveling minstrels with Stubby Kaye singing throughout the movie.
