Incredible race...by no means will I be tempted to drive my 1989 244 Volvo as demonstrated in your video...I only cruise on CA Highway 49, in the Motherlode counties, lots of curves.😂
This has brought a smile to my face and a song in my old ticker . . nothing compares to these worthy work horses, with increased horses under the bonnet, terrorizing the ducks, geese, and farm animals various throughput Sweden and Finland . . I am in Australia and once owned a 2 series tractor . . it was a beast and I miss it muchly. Thank you for this compilation, it is excellent.
@@vector3998 You either get easy to work on, no computer aids, built like a tank old cars. Or you get modern driver aids, more efficient design, more computers to work on and troubleshoot. Or take the drivetrain out of a new car and slap it in an old car, Bam best of both worlds.
The Group A 240s used Öhlins Coils iirc, still possible to buy today. When i get enough money to rebuild my 242 that is one of the first things im gonna get. Even if the current ones are only 130.000Km's old they are still from 1984 :D
I got into two collisions with my Volvo 240 as a kid and completely trashed the other two cars.. My Volvo? Not a scratch the first time (Rubber bumper lol), a tiny dent in the front corner the second. I really wish I had the money to keep it running. I promised myself to buy another when I could.
Many of those videos are from sweden and finding Volvo parts is like finding food In a grocery store... Take it from a volvo enthusiast from sweden. Me myself own 3 old volvos 2 Volvo 940is to daily and have fun in the roundabouts and 1 Volvo 740 that I use in the forest to drive rally the 740 havent broken down yet I have just fixed some pipes for the power steering, some electric things, brake parts and that's it. I bought it for 600 usd 6000 swedish crowns almost 4 years ago

I miss my 240. Had over 300k miles on it but would still drift around and allow for some fun. Eventually the wiring went bad. Fantastic cars
