FYI, Taiping was the capital of Perak during British occupation in Malaya before moved to Ipoh in 1935..and also the town with many first's together with oldest railway station in Malaysia dated back to 1885
Excellent! I have done chunks of this route over the years. Back in 2010 I took the old train from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur - 7 hours of kidney-jarring rock and roll. Shorthly thereafter they closed the old singapore station and replaced the old trains with the current stock - no more fun! or puking! A couple of months ago I did the section from Bangkok to Surat Thani - in two shots - first to Hua Hin and then on to Surat THani. Finally, during the pandemic I was stranded in Malaysia for 6 months so I did Kuala Lumpur to the station closest to Langkawi and I also took the old Golden Blowpipe on the other side that will be replaced soon by East Rail high speed, from Kota Bahru to Jerentut - which was fantastic.
I hope the government is smart enough not to build HSR as it is not cost effective only leading to debt like what China is experiencing now. I think ETS will serve the purpose. Sometimes when vanity gets into the head, people just want the HSR without knowing the consequences.
7:34 Yes. It is for the JB-Singapore RTS. In fact, the entire construction you saw in JB Sentral area was the RTS. The station, known as Bukit Chagar, will sit at this very spot above the KTMB tracks. The station will also have a separate Customs & Immigrations for those using the RTS. The viaduct at 7:53 is the tracks towards the RTS depot. The RTS is entirely elevated in JB. Only in Singapore does it enter a tunnel. The RTS will be connected to the bridge linking JB Sentral, City Square Mall, JBCC Komtar & R&F mall, as well as a future bridge to the future Coronation Square. On Singapore side, the station is known as Woodlands North Station, & will be connected to the same namesake station of the Thomson-East Coast Line. 38:20 that's Rembau station. Currently only used as a Komuter stop for the Pulau Sebang - Batu Caves line 1:06:51 that's the new Bukit Berapit twin tunnels. 1:07:07 that's the Bukit Larut tunnel.
Thank you so kindly for sharing the information.🤗 I can't wait for this project to be completed. Currently, I think the smoothest way to cross the border is by bus, but I think it will be much more convenient if the RTS, which crosses the border as frequently as a commuter train, connects with the MRT at Woodlands North. When is the RTS construction scheduled to be completed? I will definitely visit when it is and see this modern border.😎 Anyway, @nick_1551 Thank you for sharing the other detailed information. I will re-edit some of the subtitles and apply them☺️

i would like to congratulate you for presenting a video about your train journey to the viewers from Singapore to Bangkok by crossing two more countries along with travel in a ferry to Penang. island city. The entire train journey with changing of train in a few stations to reach Bangkok is very interesting. Total distance is 1900 Km and took more than five fays to reach the destination, it is not a easy task to cover up the entire train journey with places visited. More pain would have been happened in the matter. Thank you, please continue journey without break.
By 2026 both the RTS and the double tracking to Johor Baru would be fully completed. So you don't need to take the old train to Gemas anymore as it would be replaced by the ETS direct from JB to KL. Also instead of the old train from Woodlands to JB, it would be replaced by the RTS
Thank you for watching! When that the electrification work is complete, how many hours will it take to travel from KL to JB? Also, will there be a business class service like between Kuala Lumpur and Butterworth? This is very exciting.
HI Emma Fantastic video thanks for sharing. Well its been a long time I remember travelling from KL-Butterworth on the old train stock going first class but journey took about 9 hours and arrived at the old station at took the old ferry which you passed going across. Its amazing how modern everything is now new ferries and lovely station now.even the entrance has seen all those shops and stall gone. So how long was the journey from KL-Butterworh and what was the fare now. Again thank you for sharing.
I think only KLIA transit stop at TBS. Alternative route is MRT to Putrajaya & connect to KLIA train. Book in advance KLIA express for cheaper ticket price
I think the ECLR is a very attractive route between cities on the East Coast! But, Once the ECLR is completed, will the Jungle Train's East Coast line between Tumpat and Gemas be discontinued?

Emma, Good video . Thank you , wonderful travel , I watched it 3 times already in a month , also the trip back. Love the witch broom in Hue Hin , it must've collided with a train from Bangkok 😁.
Di Indonesia lebih dulu ada daripada semenanjung 😂😂. Jangan meludah terkena muka sendiri.

How about vape/disposable pod? can i bring from Malaysia to Thai? I saw some ppl said ok no problem but some said i might get fine by the police.

Possession of disposable vapes is prohibited by Thai law. I hear that foreigners are often arrested, especially in Bangkok, and the fines are high.

to bad its taking forever to get a bullet train. i rode fron KLL to singapore it was cool the first 2 hours but after 7 hours i wasnt amused anymore
How long was the total trip? How long from the Thai border to Bangkok?
I wonder is there wifi and phone charging / power socket available on the train?
How was the temperature? Was the ride with full AC available? Was there WiFi? Thx.
How long does it take?
Singapore to KL might make sense commercially but to Bangkok very doubtful. Number of ridership needed will not be there.
What is the cost from Singapore to Bangkok???Thank you
