  • Startup, tour, first impressions and review of my 2019 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 4.0L V6 King Cab with the Premium Package. I love this truck, mid grade, volume trim comes equipped with everything I want in a midsize truck. Strong V6 power, great features and very versatile truck. I've always wanted a midsize so this is what I decided to get. Love the Gun Metallic color too. Only think I don't like is the console shift selector and the turning radius is poor. If it were on the column it'd be perfect. And with a starting MSRP of under $30,000, this truck is within reach for many.

    I bought the same exact truck brand new but a 2016 almost at 40k miles.. never had any issues yet no check engine light NOTHING.. I’ve towed a boat and a small camper this engine is a beast nothing like the 4.0L which this will be the last time we see them ever produced again.

      @FansandCars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I love the 4.0 it’s got so much power and it’s really fun to drive. Yeah the VQ40DE has been around since 2004ish so it’s a durable design.

      What was the weight of your boat/trailer that you towed? I know the crew cab (I own) is like 6100 and the king cab is slightly more towing capacity. I need to upgrade my boat for sure.

    Excellent walk around, learned more about my new Frontier SV King Cab than from anywhere else. Couldn't figure out why the auto headlight feature wouldn't work, turns out you have to set the light switch to auto before starting the truck. I had a Tacoma TRD for 19 years and loved it. Replacing it with a comparable Tacoma for 2019 started at $42,000. I got my Frontier King Cab 4X4, V6, out the door for around $27,000. Thanks for a great presentation of features. FLCoyote

      @@Dollsteak69 If you want a 4 cylinder, manual transmission Frontier with manual locks, seats, and windows, 2019 is the last year to get one. That's what I would go for as far as longevity goes. Nissan did this presentation on a 2007 base frontier 4cyl/5spd that went a million miles.

      John H. Miller III There's 6 silver ones remaining in Colo. right now that are identical to the depicted. It's the one I want. I commute 80 miles round trip everyday so I drive a civic but for snow days and BLM land im looking for a newer truck and the new tacos aren't what they used to be. Plus the current frontier has been proven for 15 years. That speaks volumes. Excellent review! Best of about 20 I've watched on the Frontier. Be well!

      I wanted a SV 2.5L but the gas mileage is worse with the 4 cylinder because the motor has to work twice as hard, on the highway with my 4.0L I'll get 22mpg if I keep it below 60 MPH. They also didn't have the colors I wanted, only white or black.

    If only Nissan ditched the CVT and just used the same automatic that’s used in this Frontier. Nissan has proven they can make a damn solid truck, now they gotta put that energy in their SUV’s/cars. I loved riding yours. Thing is solid. Probably one of the few trucks not messed up with Renault.

    The Value Truck Package comes with two extra speakers. Do you know where they are located? Any idea if they make any appreciable sonic difference?

    • @FansandCars
      @FansandCars  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. There are a total of four speakers in the base stereo. Two speakers in the front of the doors, one on each side, and one speaker in each of the back doors. The Value Truck Package adds two additional speakers, one tweeter on each side, under the A pillars on the dash, for a total of six speakers throughout the the cab of the truck. And yes, there is a pretty discernable difference. There's a bit more high end and the sound is noticeably louder with six speakers compared to four.

The seats are very comfortable, and I like the simplicity and airiness of the cabin. I'm not sure if I would pay the extra money for the Pro-4X, though, because I think the SV is basically the same for me as far as I would be concerned (I don't think I would ever go off-roading).

    • @FansandCars
      @FansandCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it does when the AC compressor kicks on and off or there is more load on the alternator. I’d say normal as well.

    • @creightonmeyers2935
      @creightonmeyers2935 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don’t like the shudder you can ask the dealership to bump the idle speed by 100 rpm, they suggested this on my first Nissan frontier and I had them do it to my second the day I purchased it. When the a/c clutch cycles it is way less noticeable

    I really need a truck that allows me to take the whole family to the motocross track (two car seats in the back) and I want to buy something that I can keep for many years as well as several hundred thousand miles. I see a lot of F150s in the 200K plus mile range, but not a lot of Frontiers. Also, MPG ratings are very comparable even with a V8 F-150. Would you say the MPG ratings don't really matter in real world driving? Also, the quality of Nissan cars in general is garbage, but the Frontier seems like it is a better built vehicle.

    • @FansandCars
      @FansandCars  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Frontier has a 15 year old engine and trans combo, pretty reliable aside from oil consumption issues and timing chain guide failures. They fixed the radiator issues back in 2013 and it hasn’t given me any problems. Granted, it is new, but so far, no issues. Yes it has V8-like power with V8 fuel economy. Sticker ratings are 15 city 21 highway. I usually get around 17-18mpg, and I have a heavy foot. I originally wanted a Chevrolet Silverado but I got a better deal on the Nissan. Going from a sentra to a frontier lot different. I wish I had the fuel economy of a 4 cylinder because I drive 7500+ miles a month. I just wanted to try out a midsize truck because I wanted to take a look at a different kind of vehicle, wanted to see what power and capability a pickup has, because they are some of the best sellers in the US. Probably won’t get another truck again, but it’s cool to explore and try new things.

      @luizasukasyan6930 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FansandCars Thank you for your response. I just realized my sister in law stayed signed in on my laptop, lol.
      The Frontiers tend to hold their value pretty high, so it makes it almost not worth buying used and just going new, which I hate buying new. Unfortunately, my job moved me to Southern California where gas is 4 dollars a gallon and I cannot have all the cars I want because I'm not in my house anymore, otherwise I'd have my fuel efficient 4 cylinder daily driver, keep my Towncar and just get any truck as long as I could fit car seats in the back. Now, however, I must use the truck as a daily and I just can't sell that Towncar because I love the black on black Towncar. So if I'm buying a new truck I want one that will get me to 300,000 miles.
