Ohhh boy ! I'm kinda surprised of the result of the game. I thought it would a hard match up for Nurgle because their slow speed vs Sylvaneth's strike and fade. But the dice gods were not in Michael's favor. @michael to answer your question in the live chat . The army I brought in my loosing game vs sylvaneth was LRL Ymetrica, with Avalenor, Stonemage, Enlightener, Cathallar, 2 x 10 Stoneguards, 10 Bladelords, 3 x 5 Dawnriders.
I thought this was a favorable matchup for the sylvaneth too. I looked at daves army and was like well im going to lift 1 maggoth lord a turn, shut down the beast and then run from the glottkin, but boy howdy i was wrong. I need some more stoneguard from so i can run a propery ymetrica list but i really like your list
@@BattleshockWargaming yes I like that list too, Stonguards are tough to kill and properly buffed (Unlyealding toughness + unshakable faith of the mountain) can really delete stuff. A block of 10 bladelords can do 8-9 mortals easily. The flaws is speed. But dawnriders can help with objective control and some BT. But so far some matchup are really difficult for me... any shooting army or maps with 6 objetives are really a big headache.
Voting for nurgle but i think Without plaguebearer its gonna be hard😊. Btw Michael did you know that with verdannt Harmonie you can summon a 2 or 3 tree wyldwood aswell. I didnt until Yesterday someone mentioned only Restriction for 1 tree is with the artifact and treelordancient. Might protect vs shotting heavy armies If you can fit it. Yep treelords dont get turned Off but they need to be wholly within 6 Inch of the tree and more than 9 Inch away so still pretty easy to Turn off. 18:30 orgott deamonspew can only issue free command to Mortals so only to other magotlords🙂. @ Michael time to Bring Out belthanos, Arch Rev and Take warsinger to get Mobility outside spiteswarm hive. Magotlords are undercosted atm and i dont think they should have a 3+ Armorsafe 😔 make them all 4+ Like bloab.
Welcome back from the first holiday gauntlet, gentlemen. Glad to see Maggotkin hit the battlefield on this channel for the first time which motivates me to cheer for them to win this time around when I might have favored Sylvaneth in other situations. The paintjob on these guys is phenomenal. The faction, as a whole, I view as a big challenge to paint simply because of all the disease marks(Pus, torn skin, etc.) creating hugely detailed models. With a sufficiently skilled painter at the helm, though, these guys offer a magnificent opportunity for a beautiful but repulsive army. I really like that Graymatter merchandise for spell tokens in particular. Mystic Shield needs to be an addition to my collection, even though my main army has no natural Wizards! :P

So, I don't know if you guys thought about this but I would personally look at running Belthanos over Durthu. He doesn't hit quite as hard ( still hits hard though)but he can potentially give your terrain a +1 to casting for the warsong and gives your hunters run and charge. He's only 10 more points and if spells are the focus, it might be good. Not to mention, with 12" of movement and run+charge, he never has the Durthu feel bad moments of not getting in.
As a tip. I might have missed it but i didn’t see you use the Glottkins best ability Blightkrieg. The ability to charge with two units in your opponents movement phase is AMAZING. Doing that a few times to opponents and the Glottkin will be feared and avoided. I just run with the Glottkin in my turns, and charge in my opponents.

Beast are naturally 4+/3+. I think the first round you said 5+/4+, and on the top of round three you didn't swing the slobbering maw, extra d6 attacks. Also when they fall back, a 4+ gives a disease point. 18 of them with Slimux is a blast to play.
So the beast was hitting on 5s/4s because dryads arr minus 1 to hit/wound. I did forget about the maw in that activation. I didn't notice the rule about disease! Thanks for pointing that out, I want to git gud with Nurgle because I plan to take them to LVO 😉

Fav moment was bottom of turn 4. Dave rolled 4 ward saves, and failed 3 of them. He took an extra second to make sure and count them, in disbelief that, for the first time, his dice weren't 300% above average. Lol.

Love seeing Sylvaneth and some powerful armies clash together. Nurgle Seem suuuper powerful. Really hard to punch through. Wonder if the whole treelord package is strong enough, or Belthanos is the new truth❤

Awesome to see Nurgle!! Love Nurgle. Looks like you forgot Glottkins most amazing ability, to counter charge in end of enemy movement. So Sylvaneth turn 4 you could have charged the beast boy to get Durthu and Kurnoths in place. Not that it really mattered but amazing ability.

I feel like Sylvaneth needs a point adjustment to make a few units cheaper. Too squishy and hardly any ability to survive a double if you can't teleport.

i don't know why GW thought its fun to put a roll of 2+ on an endless spell that is hard to cast and not get unbound while there are effects in other armies that just 'happen'....
@@BattleshockWargaming exactly, Sylvaneth are great as long everything works in your magic Phase. But one spell that gets unbound or miscast can make things go downhill reaaaal fast
Here is the rule: Strike and Fade: Once per turn, in your combat phase, immediately after a friendly SYLVANETH unit that is wholly within 9" of an overgrown terrain feature or friendly Awakened Wyldwood has fought and slain models (if any) have been removed from play (core rules, 14.2), you can remove that unit from the battlefield and set it up again more than 9" from all enemy units and wholly within 9" of either a different overgrown terrain feature that is more than 3" from all enemy units or a different friendly Awakened Wyldwood that is more than 3" from all enemy units. It is saying after slain models (if any) have been removed, you can remove the unit. It does not states that you have to slay models to activate the ability, It just happens after slain models (if any) are removed from play. It is worded poorly, could do with a clarification in the next faq.

Andtorian acolytes battalion gives you an additional dice each turn on a 3 plus. They last for the battle round, so if you have that battalion you could have up to 6. If a player does a super cast with primal dice, it could go even higher lol.
Thanks for the reply - realised I'd forgotten about Sylvaneth 3d6 spellcasting and had thought this was extra use of primals. Couple of tiny bits for Nurgle - Bloab is +1 to cast but not to dispel (he does apply debuffs to enemy casting within 14 though) Orghotts can only use his CP on mortal units, not beasts Don't think either of these had a major impact, but useful for the future hopefully
Belthanos is done and we will be filming with him this weekend, we already filmed another game with a friend who had Belthanos and it will be on the channel soon!!
I would find a eternal conflagration list fun to watch! They're nowhere near as strong and focus a lot on big flaming plays. Plenty of puns to use for that one ;)@@BattleshockWargaming

Bloab does not have +1 to unbind, he does however have a 14' auta of -1 to cast for opponents, anyways great br!

The battle plan rule in every step is forward means charging units are +1 on objectives :)

PLaying sylvaneth has always felt like everything was riding on that one roll but now with primal unbinds its hard to get that off consistently

That just means that he is -1 to hit even if he uses an all out attack :)
