Campton actually looks very modern now compared to what I remember. My dad was from there and we used to go to Campton back in the early 1980's to visit and back then you'd see the little mom and pop old school type stores and old junk cars and trucks everywhere. People would be sitting out everywhere downtown staring at you as you drove by like they knew you didn't belong there and you'd see the old abandoned houses and trailers everywhere. So yeah it looks like it's become a lot more modern since the 80's but that being said there is still just not much reason to live there and they got the population to prove it...Campton's population is about the same as it was 70 years ago.
I lived in Compton I was little girls when to Quillen Chapel School someone could find more history on it I know when my uncle's teenagers they tried to burn it down
My grandmother was born there in 1910

After you grow up here, it makes you not want to move away from here.
