- Farm Life: Episode 8-Building a Chicken Coop in a Barn Stall-Moving the Chickies to the Barn! ðĨ Our chickens are about six weeks old in this video. They outgrew their brooder, and they love their new barn stall. Come along as we show you our design of a barn stall chicken coop and all of the supplies and engineering we did to make it happen.

You guys really thought out every detail. Great design. I'll be implementing the fencing apron in my coop too now.
I hope it goes well in your coop! We just didn't want to leave anything to chance of predators. :)
We are looking to do the same thing. We recently moved to property with a barn and 2 horse stalls. We know nothing about horses and are just learning about chickens. This was an amazing video and really helped me visualize how to proceed. Really good points on making it predator proof! Thank you for the detailed information. I can tell you really love your chickens. Best of luck with your channel
Good luck with your chickens, Vinny! Thanks for watching!
We use dog kennels with hardware cloth we also remove the bottom pans and put them on clover and chickweed in the back yard during the day.
Great! Thanks for the info and for watching the channel!
I donât think the whirring -to keep predators out-is not necessarily; also you secure the bottom whirring from the outside of the coop-while you construct the coop-.
You would want the floor smooth for more efficient cleaning; plus chickens scratch and with the whirring on the floor you increase injury to their feetâs.
How is it with cleaning the coop? What do you use I feel like you get caught on the fencing on the floor a lot? I havnt gotten to watch anymore videos yet so not sure if you made any adjustments to the floor such as a stall mat under the shavings to make cleaning up easier?
Hi! We are hoping to get a couple more farm videos out soon to show how it's going. We use the "deep litter method" for our chicken manure, so we just keep layering it with more bedding of pine shavings. So far, so good!
