Check out Pat Martino's smokin' version on Consciousness. Not to take anything away from Kurt. Just one of my favorite Pat Martino solos. That was the version that made me fall in love with the song.
Kurt really is an elite guitarist and musician and one of my biggest inspirations now that most of the old legends have passed. The Peter Beets Trio is exceptional too, exactly my kind of jazz with tasteful improv and style. I would love to be around musicians of this calibre, I'd learn a lot!
Wow.. I had heard this guy on WGBH 89.7 like 20 years ago...he was spectacular then, just as much so now. Perhaps in some different ways. Beautiful tone!
Etonnant!J'aime le son et son impro!Excellent le trio avec lui! Sa consruction harmonique me botte! Ça fait un peu penser à Martino!A suivre absolument!
Great to see the excitement building in the group as the guitar solo progressed. Amazing performance of this very likeable bouncy tune.
What is his beauty is he plays guitar in a very technical way but also plays just like he's singing.
Nice to hear this tune. I've always liked the Pat Martino recording from the 70s. And Kurt is a wonderful player.
This is one of cthe coolest and most elegant compositions I have heard (and tried to play well)...Mr.Golson, the composer.
It actually swings hard med up

Beautiful tone!
Kurt opened his first set at the Village Vanguard the other night (8/8/18) with this tune. He's an ASTOUNDING player -- and a very nice guy as well.
Check out his early work in the edgy Human Feel, c1900s. 🎷⚡
1990s, lol
What a beautiful introduction to this classic number
william kussmaul made no sense to me. No relation to the tune

La contribución de Kurt al jazz y a la música es difícil de valorar. Pasarán años para que suceda.
Thank you both!
Awesome!
Great Kurt!!. Thanks for the video.
Temazo
Very good Peter ...
Amazing quartet! Love the comping too.
oh gosh that BASS
Awesome
Nice sound
The peter beets trio look like models, or actors playing musicians. Interesting to hear how the tune effects the playing.
bellisimo....que swing!!!
Love it
Wish the piano wasn't so low in the mix.
Mix was really basic. Just a Zoom Pro 6 with stereo out which is mastered.
I have the full transcription from this beautiful solo 10usd
Kurt 형 인트로랑 솔로랑 다 완벽 아 그리고 피터형 사랑해

its like they made this video for people to copy his licks
+Elias Lucero He doesn´t play licks man.
+Antonio Monterroso i knew somebody was gonna say that. Figure of speech
he certainly does. very few basic language ones as any other player does.
+passerell true that. Everybody plays licks.
Nah, I'd rather copy his comping. You're going to be comping 90% of the time anyways, might as well be good at it.
What guitar is that?

Peter bird stein!
Did Pat Martino make this a guitar song,40 years ago?
Yes, in 1974!
Why is it hard to appreciate jazz?

@@dakauguyes but but it’s an intro. I wasn’t saying anything derogatory, just made a little note about the location of the melody.
@@2tallB thanks for marking the melody. I find it useful too 😅
Bighest problem - this is "educational" music. I mean there's only musician listen this. And only for upgrage themselves in technical way
+Dmitriy Ryabov So what kind of musician are you?
+Dmitriy Ryabov It`s incredible music and fantastic skill and knowledge of ones instrument.
I'm jazz guitarist. But still listen various kind of music. I mean I don't listen music only as educational stuff
+Dmitriy Ryabov Ar you Andrey's Son?How is he? Are you guys in New York?
So nothing wrong with that. A better goal than elderly people who come to listen because jazz is educated music...
nice performance
hello
