great job BC. been fortunate to travel the world on business and have stayed in many hotel rooms but tree gaze is a first. checked into a New Orleans hotel late, got out of bed next morning opened curtains to come face to face with a bus queue. keep up the good work.
Thanks, BB. Tree gaze is a great name, although I'm not sure if the trees were gazing at the guests or vice versa! Next time, I'll make sure the curtains are fully closed, just in case! 😀
Another thorough review BC. I went back and re watched the "Aira" video for comparison and for me the " Aira" gets my vote and their breaky looked top notch. Cheers mate 👍🏼🍻🇦🇺
Thanks, SG. The Aira does feel next level by comparison, in my personal opinion, and last time I looked, the prices were not that different. The travelodge does well given the space they've got to play with, but breakfast at Aira suited me more. Either way, Sukhumvit Soi 11 is a great location! Thx SG.
Holy S--t BC 3500 is expensive or am I still on covid prices. Suk 11 is a busy location mind you. It did look better than the Travel Lodges in the UK though. I still would not pay that money though. When I am in BKK I only use the hotel to crash out so anywhere clean with good staff is fine for me.
Thanks, Toby. High season prices seem to have gone through the roof. I did compare the prices to other similar standard hotels on the soi and it wasn't out of line. Did still leave me with a feeling that I wasn't getting the best VFM ever, unfortunately. Hope prices calm down for low season! Definitely pitched at a higher level than the UK hotels of the same brand name. And location was brilliant for the nightlife. Cheers, Toby!
I must have stayed in dozens of travelodges in the UK in my time. They certainly are often a welcome sight. And if location is your thing, this one is in a great position. Thanks, Paul.
@balloonchaser I agree on position I have often stayed on or around soi 11 or 11/1 also soi 8 opposite. All close to Nana BTS. Up that end good for Hillary and those places.
Thanks, David. I'm with you on that! I do quite look forward to a decent cooked breakfast when I'm out staying at hotels. Unfortunately, this one was a bit disappointing. But I think they simply don't have the space to do much more at the busy times. Other than that, location was brilliant!
I’m going in October. I booked through Expedia and it states I have to provide a negative Covid test result at check-in. Is that correct? Fantastic video thank you!
Thanks for your support. That sounds like out of date advice from Expedia. I wasn't asked for anything about covid, and I've not heard anyone else being asked, either. I think you'll be absolutely fine. Sure you'll have a blast!
Thanks, Russ. Yes, the UK brand is probably aimed at a different customer group. But I guess the Asian travelodges are also conveniently located, clean and modern. They certainly serve their purpose!
Soi 7/1 is more my speed. Wait, how would you know about the quality of the shampoo BC? 555 Yes, the Travelodge was a mainstay with our family during road trips back in America in the 1960's. This Travelodge is a bit pricey for what you get, yet all about location. Soi 11 is famous or infamous for many travelers. Than you BC, another comprehensive Hotel review from Krung Thep Maha Nakhon
Thanks, Ric. Well, my armpits appreciated the quality of the shampoo! 😀 That's all I'm gonna say! It is interesting that they've introduced the travelodge brand to Thailand. Many people have memories of it from their "home" countries. Whether those memories sit well with where they're trying to position the brand in Thailand is an interesting point. It's definitely a bit more upmarket than its UK counterparts were in my memory!
Thanks for your question. My honest answer is I don't know if they make any additional charge,, but I saw several people bringing guests back later in the evening.
Cannot entertain the brand again, took my family to one near Luton and room still showed evidence a cheap porno movie had been shot in the room - 2 tired adults + 2 tired kids meant grit your teeth and don't touch anything!!!!!
Not gonna ask what that evidence was! Sounds pretty gross when you are travelling with the family. Think loads of people have memories of this brand; some good, and some like yours, very bad!

My go-to in bkk , main attraction for me is the comfortable bed . Cheapest option is to go direct to their website
Many thanks for your comment. Good tip about booking direct with them! And yes, they do have very comfortable beds!

You have got to love a Travel lodge (for non UK visitors a budget style hotel often by large roads). But Sukhumvit is a big road lol

Thanks, Paul. I did spend a bit of time in Hillary 11 that night, which is probably why my voice sounded rough in the morning!
The hotel seem decent for the location and price. the room was also ok. Breakfast would be a major downer for me. It's my favorite meal.

Has the Travelodge Asia anything to to with the Uk Travellodge brand?
Thanks for your question. They seem to be separately owned by a large company that specialises in hotels throughout Asia.
I visited this hotel, I did not stay, in my opinion UK brand is very different, UK is super basic.
Thanks, Russ. Yes, the UK brand is probably aimed at a different customer group. But I guess the Asian travelodges are also conveniently located, clean and modern. They certainly serve their purpose!

100 Baht for water bottle?? In seven eleven 9 baht
Exactly my point! Never buy a bottle of water in a bar or nightclub!
3500 is way too much for that
Thanks, that was my feeling when I checked out. To be fair, prices start at 1800 Baht if you book for next week, which sounds much more like it!
