- Cambodian Restaurant In New York City that is Michelin Recommended. Bayon NYC
In this episode, I share a delicious and Authentic Cambodian Meal with my Fellow Khmer friend, Roth in NYC. This restaurant use to operate under the name Angkor Cambodian Bistro from 2015-2020, they shut down due to the Pandemic. Fast forward to 2024, they are now back and better with a New Name, Bayon NYC. Roth and I spoke about Khmer New Year while feasting on some of our favorite dishes. I am so excited and happy that we have a legit Cambodian Restaurant in the Big Apple again. I will definitely go back to try their other menu items. I want to wish all my Khmer People a Happy New Year, Thank you for watching and stay blessed!

I've been there when it was called Angkor Bistro. The food and the atmosphere were very good. We went there 3 times over a week period of our staty in NYC. I sat at the same table where you sat on the left when you entered. It is sad Covid-19 put some restaurants on-hold.
Happy Khmer New Year bro. 🇰🇭

right! Happy New Year, thanks for watching
It’s good to see Cambodian restaurant on the east coast besides the one in Massachusetts…we need more Cambodian, Laos & Burma restaurants throughout the 🇺🇸 region to make it more main stream in culinary cuisines
I agree. The more the merrier
Hi so you will be in Seattle, is there a restaurant up there at the space needle
I just ate here and glad to hear its authentic from real cambodians! We had a noodle dish called “Nyoam” which is super delicious but couldnt find that anywhere else. Is that their own creation or is just an interesting spelling of a common khmer noodle dish? Also had the prahok crudite which was amazing. Thanks for making this video!! Im gonna come back and try the rest of these pronto
Ngyoam is a traditional Khmer dish
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you bro
The dishes and the ambience look real special. I would go here for a celebration, such as a birthday or anniversary. Thanks for sharing this. The interior there looks familiar, I'm wondering if this location was a restaurant of some sort back in the '60s and '70s; it certainly wasn't Khmer at that time.
Yeah I was quite surprised how authentic the food is. I ate here back when it was called Angkor and I don’t remember it being this good. So happy to have them back in the big Apple. I highly recommend Cambodian food to every time who hasn’t had it yet. 🔥🔥🔥🇰🇭
@@HellaChluy I definitely want to try it, especially since it's similar to Lao and particularly Isan food which I'm familiar with (and love).
@@eswillie SE Asians have similarities ingredients, but taste is all different!
@@PurpleFlower22 I know, that's why it's all an exciting way to eat. Been there, had some, make my own versions at home. It's all good.
Did the Cambodian restaurant had Salaw Machu Greung and Cha Greung? They're my two favorite Cambodian salaw and stir-fry. You can say Happy South East Asian New Year! 🎉🎊
That’s one thing I didn’t see on the menu but next time I’ll ask if they can make it. They have actual Khmer cooks in kitchen so they are legit. Everything we had true authentic flavor
@@HellaChluy why are you chluy? 🤣

He is the best fighter in this planet not debadable, very fast and killer punch, he is super human . the training is unbelivable.
Khmer call him Lee Siu Long most of the time than Bruce Lee
Do you agree , that he is an Icon and super human the bag he train with is 750 pounds and he kick that bag and it fly up and he punch hard on that bag his 2 fingers push up
There is a serious lack of khmer restaurants in the states.. even in so called cambodia town in long beach. Most went out of business which is less than a handful anyways... khmer people are not proud nor do they care too much about their cuisine.. too busy opening up donut shops! Where's the khmer pride in that!?!
Khmer are proud of their cuisine, but if they don’t have customers to support their business. How will they stay in business?!
@PurpleFlower22 no excuse! Being proud is not all about profit! If you're truly proud, you do anything to represent your culture and food in any circumstances! Thai and vietnamese at one point I'm sure went thru the same struggles of no one liking their food. But they persevere because they're proud and want to showcase their culture to the world.
