  • A thorough walk-through of winterizing our Winnebago Micro Minnie FLX, we have the 2108DS, this would be a very similar process across all of the FLX models. Feel free to reach out with questions, hit like if you found this useful, and feel free to subscribe. NOTE: *DO NOT* reinsert the filter into Truma AquaGo after winterizing the AquaGo. #winnebago #winnebagomicrominnie #microminnieflx #winnebagoflx

    Thanks Larry. Just purchased an already winterized FLX 2108TB up here in already frozen Canada. Have saved it for next fall. Will reverse order it next Spring for de-winterizing. Keep your informative videos coming.

    Great video. I don’t believe, here in Sacramento, we have a need for adding antifreeze but I will be blowing the lines clear with low pressure compressed air. I assume that would be done with the Truma bypassed?
    I will be adding the antifreeze to the traps and the toilet bowl (mostly to keep the seal healthy in the bowl). Not sure is the waterless shower “trap” needs antifreeze, but can’t hurt to toss som in.
    Again, thanks for this video. Very helpful!

      Steve, my apologies for the delayed response, yes this would be done with the bypass of the Truma AquaGo and you are correct a bit of antifreeze in the traps would not hurt. As a note: do NOT put the filter back in the AquaGO after winterizing.

    Love this video. have a new 2022 2108tb. where is the fresh water tank drain valve?

    • @paddleandtrails
      @paddleandtrails  ปีที่แล้ว

      It should be between the tires and the stairs underneath the FLX on the passenger side of the trailer. it is a protruding line capped with most likely a white valve.

      @@paddleandtrails Thanks SO much. Never showed us any of the drains at demo. Got the rest from your video. Dealer had left water in everything. Thanks again!

    Truma recommends leaving the AquaGo water heater filter out for winterization. It looks like you may have left it in.

      Yes, inadvertently reinserted the filter, I need to up date or add to the video.

    Is there a valve you have to turn if you switch from hose hookup to water tank water

    • @paddleandtrails
      @paddleandtrails  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a good question and I am assuming you own a FLX, however, this would be similar to non-FLX models. You should be able to turn on the pump at the panel to use the water from your tank. Ensure you are disconnected from city water and that there is water in the tank (plus, you will need to sanitize the tank prior to using it). If the water does not pump from the tank, you may have to open the valve. The pump is typically located under the sink, it was cumbersome to access. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions.

      I’ve been trying for two days to dewinterize my 2022 FLX and the water pump has kept sucking air. I think I figured it out now after bypassing everything and building a new water manifold. I think the problem is the shower miser was open. Which nobody says anything about. I’ll try again tomorrow and let you know. By the way that was a awesome video for winterizing. Best one I seen.

    • @paddleandtrails
      @paddleandtrails  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@glenludwig5135 Thank you. Since you winterized it last year, you should have been able to connect to city water and run the water through the lines to clear the antifreeze. You could add a little water to the water tank to check the pump. Again, feel free to reach out with any additional questions.

    Great video. Thanks a ton. What did you do with the Lithionics battery for the winter?

    • @paddleandtrails
      @paddleandtrails  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not certain about that yet, as for now, it is still in the FLX. We live in Colorado just outside of Denver. Since putting the FLX into storage after winterizing I have been checking in on the battery. So, far so, good, however, it is about to get close to zero degrees neat the end of the week with a chance of snow before warming back up. The typical winter in Denver is high temps in the mid 40's and lows in the twenties. I am going to reach out to Lithionics on Tuesday to get their opinion on the matter. I have seen a few posts where people have removed the battery and if we were still living in Wisconsin I most likely would do that as well. Short of the battery weighing 68 pounds, getting it out will be a chore as well. So, I will follow up once I know more.

      Thanks. I grew up outside Denver myself. Definitely miss it! I called Winnebago yesterday and am waiting on a response myself. Will share when I hear.

    Is your lithium battery going to survive the winter months? what did you do to protect it from minus temps?

    • @paddleandtrails
      @paddleandtrails  ปีที่แล้ว

      I will preface this, it was a challenge, the polar vortex around the holidays did a number on the battery. Living in Colorado there is an abundance of sunshine, however, we were stuck an extra day in Wyoming returning from Jackson Hole. The battery did enter the never die mode which protects the battery in such events. It took a while to bring the battery back as the inverter will also shut down when temps reach -4 degrees. During this period I would typically go out to the FLX daily to reengage the battery, knock any snow off the solar panels and verify the battery was receiving a charge. Knowing what I know now, I will either move to a powered site if we are still here next winter or remove the battery from the FLX. Which is not the easiest thing to do. The FLX package is outstanding from a technical perspective, however, I also believe Winnebago failed to properly prepare or communicate with the owners what is needed to maintain the battery properly. Depending on where you live, particularly in the midwest or the northern tired states, I recommend removing the battery unless you can keep power to the unit. Please feel free to ask any additional questions.

      @@paddleandtrails I have spoken to a couple of people who have put an electric blanket around the battery and have it plugged in to an outside source for the winter. so I hope they report on how it survived the winter.

    • @paddleandtrails
