I'm going to have to check that out. I noticed lately mine is cracking. My biggest complaint is still that there isn't a 0 or a 9 on the keypad. Guess what was in every combination I wanted to use. lol
Very nice upgrade, we have already gone thru 2 of the sticker cover versions. They charge me around $15 each time for design error which is really poor customer service.
I agree they had a design flaw with the Vinyl keypad and I bet they regret that one flaw in the lock. I've found that mistakes happen and that's how we all learn. I bet they would replace all the pads if they could without going broke if they could. I'm happy they finally came up with a solution to the problem. I love watching you videos and am a subscriber. I threw out my first whole lock because the membrane had cracked. My second one is splitting already but this time I had purchased it myself so it was under warranty. The warranty solution was to spend another $20 and get this membrane. Well it was that for pay a few bucks for antoher cover that would just crack again., Huge waste of money on these locks but maybe this will fix it.
I hope it all works out for you, the new keypad is built pretty good so it should last a long time. I just used a good quality screwdriver that fit the screw perfectly. It’s important you have the right size screwdriver and apply a good amount of straight down pressure on the screw while turning. If you don’t do this the screw head can strip. I hope you can get the screw out that’s stripped, if not you can use an easy out to remove it after drilling a hole in the screw. If you don’t have knowledge of how to do this I would take it to a lock shop, I’m sure they would be able to remove the screw. I hope this helps
