On the subject of the OBSBOT Meet 2... does this work with the Steam Deck (especially if you want to dock it and use desktop mode)? Basically, does it work on Linux? I'm going to be going Linux next year for my older devices after Win10 loses support, so it would be nice to know about the product's compatibility.

I'm not sure what Valve will do, but they bought the Firewatch studio Campo Studio in 2018 and all their planned projects were shelved as the team went to work on the Valve games like Alyx. So expect the same thing (except that Hapoo is closing down instead of becoming a studio owned by Valve).
The Risk of Rain 2 new update tried to merge the console code and the pc code and has completely destroyed the game. Bugs are everywhere. Obvious bugs that show no one actually tested the game like items not being highlighted when they are dropped. A standout bug is one that deletes your save if you plug in a second controller, but only after you have played for at least 40 hours. The game has gone from sitting at overwhelmingly positive for years, to being destroyed by Gearbox in one patch with current reviews being mixed. People tried to have hope when they heard about the Gearbox acquisition, but everyones worse fears for what would happen to the game came true and then some. I do not recommend Risk of Rain 2 in its current state.

It’s why independent game studios matter, or the big behemoth that is valve who in heart/principle always seems to remain the same
The primary reason people don’t like gearboxes approach to risk of rain 2 is the consolidation of pc and console. With Seekers of the Storm (the new dlc), Gearbox decided to essentially use the console side of the code rather than the pc side. So many of the shortcomings of console came to pc. They also tied the physics engine to framrate, which caused the game to only work in 60fps. There are many other bugs, such as the final boss becoming invincible if you carry a certain item (may have been hotfixed), but the dlc on its own is good if you don’t count the bugs. They should’ve spent a little more time polishing and the reception would be much better.
The difference between Valve and Microsoft / Sony in how they think about employees and projects, is that it is a private company. Microsoft / Sony main purpose is to only increase the value to shareholders (ROIC).
I pretty much exclusively game on windows. Emulators, VM's, and Conversions/Mods. But as SteamOS is picking up well... Steam... I am getting close to finally consider a Steam Gaming System now. Especially with Windoze become more and more SpyWare itself. The world is getting more dystopian by the year. No matter where you look there is some Company, Politician, or Group asking for more of it.
My wild guess at Hopoo Games joining Valve Studios is that they might be producing an eventual PVE campaign or mode for Deadlock. Because i think that's exactly what the game needs to get all the players in that right now feel overwhelmed with the game's concept and mechanics. DOTA Underlords is tied into the Deadlock universe and uses the same heroes and environments, but it's a top-down MOBA Auto Battler, so it doesn't help you with understanding the Deadlock FPS and creep spawn mechanics. Or they work on a small first project with Valve, that has nothing to do with existing IP. Valve released a few "indi-sized" games in the past, one of them turned out to become it's own big franchise: Portal. And Counter Strike at first also was "just a Half Life Mod" by Valve themselves.
Valve should also make AAA games exclusive only in Steam. They should acquired good developer company and contract them to make a good game that highlights the Greatness of Steam Deck. They have the knowledge and experience to do that.
