Jin is either Athena, the Goddess of wisdom & war or Aphrodite, goddess of love & beauty because he comes in on what looks to be the Trojan Horse.
Jimin is Artemis, the goddess of hunting who is related strongly with the moon. In the myths, Apollo and Artemis are twins, so it's interesting that V and Jimin had matching earrings just for this performance!

I was living in Korea at the time and saw this live. To answer a few questions, we got to see everything live except Mikrokosmos, JK's solo in the water, and the horses intro, which were all prerecorded. Their set was legit 40 minutes long, it was 1000% a BTS concert! The MMA's knew this, so they let BTS perform last. If I remember correctly (my brain was annihilated by this performance), the only award given out after their performance was the Daesang, the biggest award given, which was presented to BTS. The entire audience were ARMYs I swear. There were fans of other artists there of course, but the respect for BTS was enormous, it was beautiful to see. It was their night, and I'll never forget it. Loved the reaction!! Good luck recovering LOL

oh so other groups' efforts and years training are meaningless? it's an award show. and since bts are the most popular group nowadays, of course they're gonna get more screentime and more budget, and they absolutely deserve it. but that doesn't mean other groups deserve to be treated like shit
That night was one of the best nights in the Fandom. Everyone was so hyped with the amazing performance and then the boys made history by getting the first ever Daesang sweep (won all the grand prizes). The next year there was no audience but they still did very very well, and last year they didn't attend at all. So for MMA this is the crown jewel.
Also wasnt 2020 the year Suga was missing so it’s a different feeling set of performances.

It was a really good night. Quality while watching was not great for me but the vibe was electric and then getting to see it again in higher quality later and relive it was soooo good.

Whenever they perform at an awards show? Only Asian award shows! Compare any of the performances they've reacted to to all the performances they've done in the United States at award shows. For instance, the very first time they performed at the American Music Awards it was DNA In 2017. It took until the 2021 American awards show for Jim to perform two songs. And that's only because they were performing with Coldplay and were supposed to perform with Megan thee Stallion. But they were able to perform my universe with Coldplay, but Megan wasn't there, so they performed butter without her

Fun fact: The lights that were coming down at the beginning of each member’s performance represented a star in the constellation Corona Borealis “the northern crown” - which is a representation of the crown that Dionysus gave to the princess Ariadne.

They actually won ALL major awards (daesangs) that night: Album of the Year (Map of the Soul: Persona), Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (Boy With Luv), and Record of the Year
This is the BEST one! It showcased EVERYTHING and the length of the entire performance kinda showed just how significant BTS was for the whole industry.

MMA 2020 is not as big as this one because it was during the pandemic, and therefore each artist had to perform separately each one in their studio/stage, so without an audience and without anything else, they really managed to still give a good presentation
Also, Yoongi was out for shoulder surgery so there was only 6 of them on stage.
There will be fans of other groups who will refuse to admit this, but what BTS is doing @ a global scale is opening opportunities for their groups as well. That's why many Kpop groups actually respect BTS... from TXT, Ateez, Mammamoo, etc.
This is one of BTS legendary stage performance. To be able to pull off that massive stage is insane.

After the 35 minute performance , bts won all 4 grand prize awards . It was the first time in kpop history that 1 group did a clean sweep of daesang awards.. bts won over 400 awards thus far .
The awards after this performance was “Song of the year”, “Album of the Year” & “Artist of the Year” and all went to BTS 🥳. I watched the 3hr 2019 MMA, in a language I don’t speak, and was fully entertained. If the Grammy’s or any other award show here in the US were that good maybe I’d watch them 😁

BTS normally get two sections of the show to perform for MMAs. Once in the beginning/early middle, and once at the very end. The Artist of The Year's performance is always at the end of the show and can range from 12 - 25 minutes in time, depending on the runner ups. In 2019, BTS won 6 Daesaeng (major awards) at the MMA, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and so many more. They won a total of 9 awards that year in just the MMAs alone 😆(If someone knows the exact information, please feel free to comment below! I'm a 2019 ARMY but my facts might be a little off >.
Actually MMAs only hand out four daesangs (they got them all in 2019), then, if I remember correctly, they won a bonsang and four regular prizes, but yeah, nine in total
All artists perform just once unless they have collab stages. This was just one performance not multiple throughout the show. The ending performances can be very varied length and that is only determined by how many performances that specific award show had, not related to runner ups of certain awards or anything else. Longest performance might not even be the ending performance. Also the ending performance doesn't have to be the act who won artist of the year, quite a few times bts won the biggest awards but were not the ending act.
MMA only has 4 daesangs: album of the year, artist of the year, song of the year and record of the year. The final one is not awarded every year it's just been given 3 times overall on random years. Please do some more research.

These days, BTS always perform last. Some people say these award shows don’t mean as much as they did. But I look fwd to them just to see what BTS is up to LOL. BTS always does something extra in these performances, whether its an intro, a dance break, a medley of some kind, a new remix of their old song, or even clues to what they will release next! Being ARMY is never boring 😄

Out of their entire discography, Mikrokosmos is my number 1 song, it embodies everything about them and ARMYs relationship. It's just beautiful. I recommend you find one with the English lyrics, then you'll see. This performance 👏 is indescribable. The fact that they used to be afraid that we'd be embarrassed to be their fans is unfathomable. Thanks for getting to this one. 💜 I was watching the awards live , up at 4 a.m to catch the whole thing. When the intro to Boy In Love started and I saw the school uniforms?... I actually screamed. And the flower on Jimins stage was just one Jin threw in Boy With Luv. It didn't get picked up

At their concert, I smiled and blubbered through the whole song.
This performance is just as breathtaking every time I see it. There really is no one doing it on the same level as BTS it is mind blowing. Their hard work, talent, generosity and staying humble along the way is so admirable. I will never understand how in the people still try to understate their talent, hard work, support, character and not give them the recognition they deserve especially within the music industry (mainly western award shows and journalists). I don’t know how anyone could say they are just a boyband when this performance exists. I have so much respect for them it’s so beautiful to see how much passion goes into all of their work. Thank you for this reaction such a great video as always! I look forward to seeing you react to more of their live performances! 💜
I have watched soo many reactions of this performance, and in every single one of them, when RM says "Are you ready for this, are you ready to be hyped up?", everyone says "No, no RM". I just weirdly enjoy that.
And some think that some parts being pre-recorded mean that they did not perform it on stage but they did which can be seen from fancams and idol reactions except for Mikrokosmos (how could they change that fast anyways). They just put the pre-recorded parts into the performance video for better angles and effects. This is also one of my fave performances of them but after Jin said "I felt like puking", I can't enjoy it at the same level because they pushed themselves so far. MAMA 2016 is just epic to me and it is overseen by many reactors.
So the impression I got from leading up to this MMAs (i watched it live online) was that Big Hit was using this opportunity to show and flex BTS’ accomplishments (performing & utilizing songs from over the years) but also how special/unique they are despite the industry either low-key or high-key downplaying and preventing their rise to success with unfair exclusions, slights, and mistreatments over the years when big 3 company’s acts got dibs on TV exposure and receive all the hype from k-media. The fact that each member was highlighted is showing the industry who are watching MMA that BTS isn’t just any group like the others, but a group of individual stars with their expressions as artists and strongly united (most groups we know of, one tend to be star and members secretly don’t get along maybe out of competition/jealousy). That in of itself is a flex.

DJ - I was YOU. I was watching when it aired live at whatever o'clock in the morning after about 5 hours of waiting (they were the last performers) and was so blown away by the performance I couldn't remember anything. My brain was mush. I've re-watched it sooo many times since. An EPIC EPIC performance.
For me MMA 2019 was the best performance by an artist ever. No one can top this. When I first watched it I lost consciousness from sensory overload, I had to re-watch it a couple times to fully let it sink in what I had just watched. To me this performance is the best, the songs they sung, the outfits, the props, the music choice for the intros and how they remixed it to fit each performance, the intro performances themselves, the dance break, the pyrotechnics. EVERYTHING was perfect. MMA 2020 is also beautiful, Black Sawn blew me away, and Dynamite was an absolute blast. But for me it wasn't as good as MMA 2019, nothing will top it. The only people I trust that can make something better than MMA 2019 is BTS, and not even they have done it yet, but I expect them to in the future tho. Their only competition is themselves 🙌🏻

A little background. BTS impersonated Greek gods in their solos (JK Poseidon, etc...) and it was the performance where BTS literally flexed. Coming from a small company and having known their shares of humiliations from TV stations and big awards shows. It was their way of saying: "This is us, try and top that". It is still the best performance I have ever seen in my life. Thanks for reacting to it.

When the Grammys gave them a 3 minute, 2nd to last, slot for an Abridged version of Dynamite. After all that waiting I immediately went straight to youtube and watched this again. Just to let it embarrass the hell out of the Grammys in my head. 🤣 These men put on a Show that only compairs to Cirque Du Soleil.

Naw MMA idol is way better than MAMA. They tend to pull out all the stops for MMA.
For me, MMA 2018, 2019, and 2020 were better than their MAMA counterparts, but there definitely are some very epic MAMA performances, and I hope they react to those too.
Mama was great for 2016 and 2017 and 2020 almost on par with mma. 2020 MMA had the black swan intro that was top tier. But the 2018 and 2019 are hands down above Mama. Though I did like how the 2019 Mama went old school.
@@marissa1341 MMA 2020 had the Dynamite dance break too. Between that and the Black Swan intro, MAMA just couldn't beat it for me.
Fortunately, no one comes out after BTS’ performance. BTS is the encore performance before the grand award (Artist of the Year) which they also won along with the other major awards that night. If I’m not mistaken they won 8 or 9 awards at MMA 2019. When BTS performs, they always give their 1000% coz they only want perfection for their ARMYs. If you noticed, their energy just gets higher and higher and higher and stayed up there until the end while dancing with awesome choreography in sync and singing live with their amazing vocals! BTS are the greatest performers alive! BTS is the best! There’s nothing like BTS!

I love your reactions to BTS every time. Also, if you’re not going to pause… please don’t tear your eyes away from the screen coz when there’s BTS, every second count especially during their live performances. Kudos!

In Asian award shows being the performer who is last is a special honor....BTS is always last nowdays and so there was no other performance after this....but also the Asian award shows are much longer than North American ones...this was the wrap-up of a 4 hr award show. The lights that came down formed the constellation Corona Borealis which represents the wife of Dionysus....each of the members was representing a different Greek god. They may not be performing at the superbowl yet...but Samsung does have BTS in a superbowl commercial this year :)

The two guys they show on the audience during BWL are Yeonjun and Soobin, two members of TXT, the second band under BigHit. It was their debut year, so the show might have thought it was interesting to show their reaction to their seniors. The other three members, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai were already gone because they were minors so they couldn't be there as late at night as BTS performed

To answer your question, no other group came out/performed after BTS. They were the last acts for the night because of how big they were. After the performance they swept the all the Daesangs (grand prizes) 'Album of the Year'-MoTS:Persona, 'Song of the Year'-Boy with luv, 'Record of the year', and 'Artist of the year'. They also closed the show by singing Boy with Luv.
I watched the award show and performance live on my Laptop and was in awe. I kept wondering how they were going to top the MMA 2018 and all their 2018 award show performance. I rewatch it after the award show ended and was till in awe.
Every award that got handed out after that went to BTS! and im not lying!!!

Bts is all about live shows. Kpop award shows is all about the theatrics .. Kpop is entertainment .. it's a competitive industry...huge budgets.. it's about entertaining the viewers , I love it

I remember having to plan my bathroom break because you will miss a lot during these award shows where BTS is invited. lol. This is the best award show performance EVER!! And they were given that looooooot of time coz they're BTS.

Mikrokosmos was pre recorded , night before the award show, in front of the audience.. The solo performances was also pre recorded with the exception of jimins solo .. jimin did his live .. They needed to rest for 5 minutes and change clothes for Dionysus .. many award shows pre record some of the performances , it is then played on the screen for the live audience .

Just want to clarify this common misconception. It is true that what was broadcast was the prerecordings (except Jimin's), but they were not resting...they still performed their solos on stage live at the time of the awards show, except JK because they couldn't do the water.
You can find fan cams of the full awards show and see they were definitely doing it live, just in different outfits.
@@ashleyder9164 I thought jimins solo was the only live ? Pre recordings is done infront the audience , so it is live but just the night before the award show and they had to change clothes and rest up for two minutes ( that's what I mean by resting .. changing and taking a minute breather) .
@@adrxdeedrich5091 No, Jimin's solo was the only one whose live performance was broadcast, but all of the members performed their solos live during the awards except JK, who still sort of did his dance sans water at the edge of the stage. They did their full performances, lights, hanging acrobats, everything *during* the awards show.
As I said, it is a common misperception/misinformation. I had this debate with someone else just a few weeks ago and she refused to believe me until I linked her to a full fan cam video of the entire awards show. I'm telling you, their live performance from the Dionysus intro through to the end of the performance was almost identical to what was broadcast except no live animals and no JK in a pool of water. And they are wearing different clothes than the pre-recorded version as they had already changed into what they would wear for the final Dionysus dance. They changed during Mikrokosmos.
they had this long performance in 2019 because they literally swept every award that they can get, including 3 grand award: artist of the year, song of the year and album of the year. Bts got them all in 2019 and 2020.

This is partially correct. The other performances were pre-recorded, but they also performed live for the audience as well, everyone except JK. I was one of those audience members ;-)

About the halftime show, I have 2 thoughts. This year they asked Mary J Blige and she pulled in the others. All long overdue and overshadowed when they were at the pinnacle of their careers. So I respect it. Especially for rap and r&b artists. Now looking at how long it took for any of them to even be asked when they were born and raised here on top of being popular, I do not have my hope's up for BTS anytime soon, if ever. But they would put on a hell of a show. The fight between army and football fans for tickets would be war.
If BTS did the half time show at the Superbowl no football fans would be able to get tickets cuz it'd all be ARMY and you really would have everyone leaving after their performance LOL
