So nobody is going to tell them about how significant Spring Day is? If you look up a video explaining the song and MV you’ll be stunned. Such a beautiful tribute to the Sewol Ferry tragedy and so cleverly done since the Korean government didn’t really allow people to speak out about it.

The last song, Spring Day sounds like a love song but it actually pays respect to a huge tragedy that happened in South Korea in 2014, the sinking of the Sewol ferry. 90% of the passangers drowned and from the 299 dead 250 were 2nd year high school students on a field trip. The whole nation loves this song, it came out in 2017 and never left the chart ever since.
No, the song ISN'T about the tragedy, the MV is.

That version of Dynamite is so good. I'm a Zeppelin head but there's just something about these guys. I've watched some videos of them goofing around and they are just so damn likeable.
You should also react to the BBC Radio 1 session they did. They play with that same band again. Incidentally, nice to hear you give props to the band as most reactions out there just focus on BTS and don't mention the band at all, but they are bloody good!

The third song, Spring Day has a horribly tragic backstory. The MV is absolutely haunting. The song is about the Sewoll ferry tragedy,where hundreds of school children drowned in their Ferry. It was horrible. The corrupt gov in Korea at that time didn’t take any action. They actually had the ability to save the poor kids but they didn’t. There are videos of parents screaming and crying at the shore ,for someone to go save their drowning children. The pain they must’ve felt literally seeing their babies drown in front of them. The song is sung in the perspectives of those who are left behind, survivors,parents,friends.And the MV shows parts as what was seen by the drowning children. There are great explanation videos on TH-cam. The song is so powerful it’s still today on Korean charts,even after 4 years.
The song is about missing someone. The mv is about the tragedy. Please watch RMs vlive when he talks about the song itself.

?During this time ,any artist who made a song ,movie,art regarding this, was fired and had their careers ruined. Sure RM said that. As usual,he saved face. Even BTS had given donations in secret and even that came out a few years later. The yellow bands , tumbling water, ship sounds, beach, shoes kept at the beach(people kept the shoes of their loved ones at the beach), Jin literally stuck at the bottom of the stairwell while the rest move up,leaving him behind, literal text quoting the words of those who had survivors guilt( “they tell us to forget them,no,forgetting them means they’ll really die in our memories”)…..go watch the MV again. It’s obvious.

Why would they need more trouble.They write the song about missing someone,and then blasted the MV with symbolism of that tragedy ,that matched the lyrics. Of course he didn’t write the word exactly. Koreans got it in one swoop, but no one had a way to prove it because BTS wrote the lyrics to go a number of different ways.

BTS started their career criticizing society, the school system, etc. They’re never been afraid to criticize anyone in power. They had already released Baepsae and Am I Wrong before Spring Day. If they didn’t want trouble, they wouldn’t have risked getting blacklisted performing Am I Wrong repeatedly, with very pointed choreo. Acting like they were too timid or afraid to say what they wanted to say is ridiculous. Namjoon explained, in detail, the songwriting process for this song just like he so often does with his music. I choose to trust and listen to him about his own song.
“It is about a sad event, as you said, but it is also about longing,” Jin, the oldest member of the group, 28, told Esquire. He also said that “Spring Day” really represents him personally. “I like to look to the past and be lost in it.”
That was an interview talking about Spring Day. The sad event is the tragedy of the Sewol Ferry where many students lost their lives due to the incompetent behavior of the captain and the crew. Spring Day is called the Queen of the songs. It has never left the charts since its release in 2017.
The MV is what is dedicated to the tragedy, which is what Jin also seems to relate the song to. However, it was written from RM and Suga's personal stories. RM wrote it about a high school friend he was thinking about while on a walk through a park, who he said the song helped him reach out to that friend again. Suga wrote it about the same friend 'Dear My Friend' was written about. They then dedicated the song to the tragedy through the MV, and recently have dedicated the song to victims of the COVID=19 pandemic. Please make sure you are spreading correct info.

This band sometimes travels with BTS to their concerts and stadium tours. They also did the BBC live room for BTS,where they sang covers for some goated songs. Like Coldplays “Fix you”.
"Fix You" was on MTV Unplugged, but yes, I agree, both their BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge and their MTV Unplugged performances were amazing and are definitely worth a watch!

Spring Day (the last song) is such a powerful song, and in Korea, is associated with a national tragedy. It came out in Feb 2017, and has been continuously in the music charts since. Almost 5 years without leaving the charts.
The MTV unplugged is amazing. They covered Coldplay's "Fix You" and I've watched that performance at least 20 times as well as listened to it on SoundCloud. But the whole set is so worth it. You'll just have to cover up/blurr the screen.
Plus, the BBC radio 1 lounge was crazy good. Their cover of "I'll Be Missing You" brought me back to high school when I watched the original live. (So dating myself here. Lol).
All of their MAMA performances are truly crazy, especially for an awards show. It's truly like a mini concert. I know that the 2019 performance is generally everyone's favorite, but 2020 holds a special place in my heart with their Black Swan Performance. Also, make sure that you watch 2018.
If y'all move onto Spring Day soon, make sure you watch a theory video for the MV. The layers upon layers in the MV transforms BTS from entertainers and singers to true artists. (You'll understand when you watch the theory video(s)). I recommend the Italian Army's one first, but the English one is also good. Both discuss things the other one missed.

*MORE WITH THE LIVE BAND!* The band with them is BTS's actual band called GHOST. They are a really great musicians and always make BTS concerts and performances that much more amazing. If you want to see more with the band, I suggest you watch their *BTS's MTV Unplugged* performances. They played 5 songs: Blue & Grey, Telepathy, Fix You (cover of Coldplay's song), Dynamite, and Life Goes On. The live band is there for the last two, but I strongly recommend watching all 5 anyway because these performances were REALLY good! Also, *BTS's BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge* performance where they played 4 songs with their band: Butter, Dynamite, Permission to Dance, and I'll Be Missing You. These were also AMAZING!
Music videos are great but if you want to see BTS at their best you have to watch them live. There is nothing like it. They always give everything for their performance.

BTS toured with the same band (Ghost) before, the entire tour (2015-2016) was live music. They also had Ghost play for them in BBC Radio performance 2021

Almost every performance they do, they have a live band. You can tell because of the instrumental in the back, in their performances (concerts) they always have a track and the live band that has been working with them for 8 years now.
Since you seemed to like the more intimate setting, I suggest watching their picnic live performance of I Need U. It should be right up your alley. :)

They do have a live band when they tour but you don't always see the band they are hidden. They had live band when they just did thier LA concert. BTS live performances are the best. 2019 MMA my all time favorite legendary performance they made the award show thier own concert. You will never want to watch America award show after watching this.

I love this performance! Another one I recommend is Armypedia (link: th-cam.com/video/BFqF-3qTzRg/w-d-xo.html). It has the same setup (small room, sitting down mostly, just vibing) but it's more rap/hip hop forward songs. I believe one or more of the songs uses a live band but they're not on camera. They also did a cover of I'll be Missing You with a live band earlier this year I HIGHLY recommend that one!
BTS is King of live performances. Glad you reacted to it, one of my top favourites as well. I will recommend to react to their live performance uploaded at BangtanTV: Black Swan, Dynamite (and all BTS performance from The Tonight's Show BTS's week); Also Fix You cover from MTV Unplugged; and you guys haven't reacted to their early songs from 2013-2015, which heavily Hip hop & Rap.
Spring Day is considered the “Queen” because in the 4 years since its release, it has never fallen off of Korean charts.
I could be wrong, but I think that applies to Japanese charts as well (or it may have just recent fallen off.. I’m not sure)

And its just makes you want to be gentle with these relationship we share with humans in general. I think that's what makes me love them. This honestly wasn’t even my favorite arrangement of Spring Day. I felt like it was missing a little bit of its magic here because of the sounds that were missing… obviously there’s only so much you can do with these three instruments. Their vocals here were great though!
Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend listening to the studio version as well. It’s so beautiful.

there music is mostly done with a live band, they prerecord their music on tape according to the performances given, like for music videos and some award show performances. at most of their performances you will see the band in the background even at concerts. their band is in house [ big hit ] musicians, who actually play their music after it is written by the various members. all 7 members compose music but most of their songs are written and produced by rm, suga and j- hope. currently they all are the youngest persons to belong to the korean music copyright association, with over 350 songs. you both must see the 2019 mma performance, their talent will amaze you.

I have so much to recommend but an introduction video is a must if your really want to go in this BTS journey because you'll see more of WHY and HOW they're creating masterpiece after masterpiece. It will tell you why the write the way they do. Their whole carreer is very much documented-. Nearly every performance and music videos has behind the scenes and the making of. You can backtrack their whole carreer if u want. And YES. they write, produce and create their own music and lyrics (along with inhouse producers as collaborators). AND YES. WE LOVE LOOOOONG VIDEOS. I suggest you watch an intro to the members. There are many online. Also "THE RISE OF BANGTAN" is amazing! I'ts an ongoing documentary about BTS created by ARMY & is widely acknowledged to be a wonderful insight into them & their music. There is SO MUCH MORE than you can imagine. Their origin, struggle, personalities & growth. You will end up admiring & fanboying each member. They are all wonderful human beings. And you just want to cheer for them! 7 charming, goodhearted underdogs who became superstars through raw talent & hard work! What's not to love? Check it out! Maybe even "react" to it!
If you were to be doing a reaction to the MV of Spring Day (the 3rd song), I also recommend to watch the Explanation video made by Italian Army. It really gives a detailed explanation of deeper meaning of the MV. Also fun fact, Spring Day is still on the Korean charts after 4 years since its release, because of how much it means to the people there. Love how you've been enjoying all their music so far!!

Dynamite is a disco pop so the the mv is set in the 1970s , when disco pop was a thing .. their outfits for dynamite is a throwback to the 70s

BTW, since yguys like rock too, I would like to suggest one of my all time fav songs by BTS. This song has a space rock sound to it (imo), the harmonies are great, and the lyrics have helped me during my darkest times. The song is called "Tomorrow" from the album Skool Luv Affair (released 2014), and it's one of the reasons I realised I'd be an ARMY, a fan of them for life.

They had a quite a few tours where they performed with a live band. E.g. wings tour, HYYH tour 2016 as well i think. BTS is most well known for their live performances, so I highly recommend any tour performances. House of Cards, Pied Piper/Dimple, Ma City, Outro: Tear, all the solo songs. They are amazing live.
You should do a reaction of the explanation of the 3rd song "Spring Day" it has such a sad background. They wrote it for the 2014 Sewol Ferry tragedy where almost all of the passangers, grade school kids, passed away due to the Ferry capsizing. I believe ever since the song came out in 2017 it has remained on the Korean charts.
