It’s not the opponent that triggers the “WTF”, it’s Stockfish! I guess this is what they mean by “Don’t hate the player, hate the game”.

I mean the last move makes sense to be an inaccuracy, king safety is better than developement, doing both is better.
It's probably more like you let the knight escape, and as a result being down the exchange
The second move (as with other king move on 2nd move openings) is so horrid that chess engines literally tell you to waste your third move as well in taking it back
And it's even worse even if you do since you no longer can castle
The Bongcloud is the most excellent strategy to force an early draw though.

Ke2 is probably both the most intimidating and the dumbest move I can think of.
I'd definitely soil my pants if my opponent made an early move such as this one. That player is either so good compared to me they are going to play with me until I despair, or they are going to play so bad even I can beat them.

I'm intrigued to see the continuation ; you could only see Stockfish evaluations after the game ended, so you probably played longer than is shown in the video.
from what ive seen in prior videos he tends to resign right after. might be dated info though

Ironically at the end stockfish suggests a king move as the best. He knows his stuff

that means you can barely move any pawns in the first turns and have to play horse early to have a backwards moves available making it really difficult to develop.
@@dmarsub if I understand their idea correctly it counts to 3 for every piece (not pawn) individually.
Make it so every third move must be backwards. The other 2 moves can be forwards and/or sideways. Obviously that third move cannot be a pawn because they only move forward.

Yeah, moving your King up is an easy way to get Stockfish to rate it as a bad move, but that wasn't a good idea for this challenge, because then Stockfish is likely to rate your move bad for not bringing your King back, and so that would resulting in doing and undoing your move continuously and accomplishing nothing.
Then again this mission was probably doomed from the start, since at one point, once you get too much of an advantage, Stockfish is likely to rate "good" even very lame moves.

Chess, but you haven't learned how pawn captures work yet. Pawn captures are not allowed unless it's the only legal move, and once you've captured with a pawn, any legal pawn capture is mandatory.

The challenge wasn't about good and bad moves, it was about appeasing Stockfish; the point about book moves not always being good was nice to hear though.
Book moves would have to count in the "odd move" group though. I think every possible first move has some kind of database name.

I love how the rules are getting progressively more absurd and complicated.
Chess but you are a stalker. Meaning, if possible, you must move your pieces to any square in direct vicinity of opponent's lastly moved piece. If not possible in the next move, make it within the next 3 moves.
Maybe only apply to pieces (not pawns), so that whenever the enemy moves a pawn, there is setup time to prepare a piece just in case.
