I figured something out while trying to do the rat captain if the hut rat doesn't say the line to find the prince and you did all the steps right try clearing all the guards around the hut if still not you may have did something wrong.

Only reason why there was a gap between Chapter 2 & 3 is because I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep doing these since they take so long lol. I've committed myself to this now so I'll get them done. Also I'll be even faster because I'm sure there isn't another boss as complicated as the Rat Captain one + I'm going to make a lot of progress in the game today (still on my first playthrough in Ch. 5 due to making new saves for these guides 😂)

Yeah when I made those videos I was only one chapter ahead at the time and haven't beaten the game (still haven't due to making these tuts), and personally I loved not knowing anything about a boss when discovering them for the first time so that's what motivated me to make them spoiler free. the rat king is still fightable even talking to the rat in the village before the other steps, but you must open the cells, give the spirits to the guy, and then go back to the village and kill all the rats around the rat in the shelter, talk to him, and youll recieve dailogue confirming the third prince will appear in the upper levels. then just go beat him and youll get his ability friends.
That's what I thought too until others wanted to see the bosses 😂. What are your thoughts for the next chapter : I show the boss area without the boss, I give everyone time to skip ahead using timestamps if they want, then I show the boss after a short delay for anyone who wants to see it.

I already talked to the rat. Then delivered the spirtis. Then talked to the rat again. Then came back to upper pagoda shrine and the rat boss still spawned.
So I had talked to the guy in the hut in chapter two. When I got to chapter 3 the rat bosses corpse was in the cell with the other guy. I guess that means I dont get the boss fight. I have two chiefs yet to be unlocked in my journal. One is the monkey boss for sure. I don't think the other is the Zodiac Tiger as he will be a character unlock. Seem to have everyone else.
What happened was you exhausted the dialogue with the guy in the hut in chapter 2. That actually gets the rat captain killed in chapter 3 so you saw him in the cell, despite having two chief souls. In your NG+, skip talking to the rat in that hut in Ch. 2, get all 4 captain souls, then kick open the doors to the NPC on the floor and give him the souls, then you'll find the Rat Captain alive near the Upper Pagoda shrine. It's a messy boss lol.
Sadly you'll miss out on that. I'm still on my first playthrough so I don't know the specifics about the endings but I heard beating every single boss is a requirement for one of the endings. Also thanks for watching Liam!

My ps5 didn’t like nonwhite boss battle my frame rate was crashing bad like online match against someone with slow internet speeds.
There’s also a boss frog in chapter 3 close to the man with the fox skin that you missed in the video

I dont know but when i beat chapter i just randomly have the bat boss spirit for no reason just progress the game
Unfortunately no he'll be gone although bander is saying he was still able to get the spirit so you could try checking that at a shrine.

Not sure as I haven't beaten the game yet but I think so. To get one of the endings you need to beat every single boss in the game.
I knew i rushed chapter 3 just to get away from Yellowbrow but i didnt know i missed this much lol
