I can not praise you enough. This video should have millions of views. Every single boss guide I’ve seen tries to cheese the boss and do the most damage possible. This is the only one that teaches me how to play rather than cheese. Thanks 👍
I’m not particularly great at these games, and I almost beat him first try because of this vid. Ended up getting him on the third. Thank you! Easiest like and subscribe decision ever.
I am only using spellbinder with the gale armor set basicly since I unlocked them. Your guides, how you break down all the moves bosses do, help me a TON! Saves me a lot of stress and time, thank you very much!
Thanks for this video. You had some great tips that helped out a ton. The Rock transformation almost felt like cheating but I'll take it. And tip about how he recharges his shield every 25% helped me figure it all out.
Thank you for this advice i kinda made up my own strat mix with yours and i manage to beat him on my 2nd after watching this video, this boss fight was an absolute cinema
Awesome video, I appreciate you deciding to explain his moves/attacks because I haven't found anyone who does. I was able to beat him but I didn't like how I did it mainly because I didn't feel like I learned to fight him better, I relied way too much on the Plantain Fan and while it's totally legit I feel like I wanted more hand to hand combat against him Again incredible video 👏👏👏
Thanks, appreciate the feedback. Yeah it's a tricky fight, it's so hard many people will need to 'cheese' it but it's always far more satisfying fighting the boss normally. Give it a crack in NG+ or a fresh game. Many people also don't like/want to cheese which is why I make these ability breakdowns to hopefully help them out a little
Thank you very much. I found a strategy that's similar to yours to take him down after dozens of attempts. I'm most grateful for you providing the dodge cues from this boss, it will help immensely when I start NG+.
Yo I’m not gonna hold you you are my hero I swear to god FIRST TRY AFTER SEEING THIS VIDEO I SENT HIM BACK TO THE COURTS LETSSSS GOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I just subscribed for this btw
Good job with the video. this is the 6th video on Erlang i watch as i'm trying to get multiple angles of attack/understandings; but i just keep running out of Gourds before i can get his health to 25%.
I come from fighting games and going blindly into BMW. Your boss fight breakdowns helped me go through them stress free; especially the Yellow Loong and Duskveil! I love your in-depth observations and highlights of telegraphed combos - very much how fighting games work. Keep it up brother! I'm at Hundred Eyed Daoist, and I'm studying your guide. Wish me luck!
Thanks man I appreciate feedback! I'm glad my videos help people who want to fight the boss 'properly' as opposed to purely 'cheese' builds. Good luck, Hundred Eyed is a tough one!
@@WilstormGaming Again. Thank you for you Hundred Eyed Daoist video. I killed him in 6 tries. I'm now using your Spellbinder Poison build happily killing monsters in chapter 5. Awesome stuff.
Hey, thank you for the video and breaking down how the boss has phases aligned to shield regen. Really helped structure the fight. The spirit didn't do as much damage as consistently so i switched to Jin Chi. Was finally able to beat the boss with the fan and regen chi. + the tip to jump forward left and back when the axe falls. Thank you
Another great video. I ended up beating him on around my 7th try using a Qi based build also, it allowed me to start with the fan straight away, and then use it another 3 times. Was a similar strategy to what you havw used by the looks. Definitely one of the most challenging bosses in the game, not quite the hardest though.
So i didnt stay for the whole video but I do wanna thank you for the pro tips in the beginning. I beat him with Wukong's armor just because im stubborn and wanted it to look badass haha After some reignited sparks, some hamdy potions, and a tragically wasted revival potion, ai finally brought him down and holy crap did the second phase feel so rewarding 🐒
The Galeguard has been like my go to armor, in my opinion the cooldown helps A LOT even if it’s just slightly. Good video, Just got to Erlang myself. I like to watch videos on how boss moves are before I jump into the fight cuz I always get annihilated on the first try 😂😭
This game isn't easy by any means but just about every boss at most took me maybe three attempts. I run into this guy and 6 hours goes by I still can only get him down to half health! I hate having a look up videos but seeing that it's safe to continue chapter 6 to obtain some stronger items is a big help. I will do that and then come back when I have that staff.
Yep definitely go do all the content in chapter 6 except the last boss. There is about 5 or 6 Yaoguai Chiefs that gives the full monkey king armour set and Jingubang weapon which can help big time, then come back to him with a few more levels before the final boss
It's because after his health goes like 50-60% his asinine combos have no end to them they just keep coming and after they end there is barely any window to get in some decent attack so like what's the player supposed to do just keep dodging and don't attack? And his stun bar once depleted just magically replenishs full after he goes into his animation which so annoying
Yea im on gameplay 3 trying to get ny 4th I have hella stats but still get my ass kicked lol you ain't wrong I played dark souls and everything this game is a game changer they did a great job on wukong
It's that 40% health I cant get passed lol its like he doesn't stop his combos, and I end up using all my flasks in that time, just trying to survive 😂 I'll get him though I know but I will admit it's a fun fight so far
Yeah phase three is tough he basically uses all the attacks so far plus a few new ones. Consider using the Septenary Hearthfire Pills to reset all CDs in phase 3 or Mirage Pills early after using Azure Dust in phase 1 just to save some more flasks
being nitpicking here, but there's one thing you didn't mention: if you hit erlang with any of the 4 bane damage, he'll channel that element into his spear and use it against you (after he says power of yin-yang or something). if you use jingubang, non-able and stone transformation it's not gonna be an issue. but a decent amount of players use the loong staff, or spirits like the frog. it's good for them to know.
In this game, the only thing to keep in mind is stay calm. The game will punish button bashing, the less inputs you are spamming, the easier the game gets. And like all this guys videos show, when you take the time to relax and pay attention to the signals the bosses are giving off you will master it very quickly.
He also seem to attack within a certain space for a lot of his attacks. Keep a little more than medium distance away while learning and getting familiar. Helped me cause I was close trying to see his attacks.. no bueno
I suck! Mate I'm level 153, tried 12 different strategies have attempted 30+ times and best I can do is getting him to around 10% I run out of everything and he starts doing like 8 hit combos. I honestly want to cry 😢.
Very good tutorial, i beat him without fan, i enjoy Yondu's needle. What i found weird, is i tried couple fights with the legendary curious the one that removes elemental defenses, the way shield depleted was weird, certain attacks would do only health damage and others only damage to shield
No amount of preparation helps dude is legit cheap u just gotta know when and in what direction to dodge I recommend to his right away from him when no electric move and to the right toward him whenever u see electric
Spellbinder is very good on most bosses, but on Erlang, unless you get very good at dodging his combos I'd probably not go Spellbinder because you want access to the Fan (Vessel) and Azure Dust (transform)
Azure dust is also really good against him cause he dosnt attack at all in first or second stage and i always start using the fan to get the shield away fast and then when he goes into second i transform into Azure dust and transform right before the axe hits u dont even dogde just transform and then attack him
As in staff spin? Nope, it's sad the amount of times in making these boss guides I spent many attempts trying to dodge something before realising staff spin worked perfectly
I was fighting this guy last night then he killed me when I respawned I couldn't get in the boss area then I rested at a shrine and his health bar popped up I could hit him through an invisible wall with charged attacks then he did a cinematic move and pulled me back into the arena and my game crashed. First bug I seen hopefully when I try again later it's not still like that
Anybody else’s Non-Able only do the one double handed thrust then disappear? Have mine maxed out yet he doesn’t do what’s done in this video. Is it a bugged situation?
Have anyone tried that when u die and trying to go up to him again then there is a barrier in front of him like im in the fight with him so i cant go in🤔 and then i have to travel to another place before it works
Honestly not too influential, but for relics: Opportune Watcher (or Keen insight if playing a crit heavy build), All ears, Hold breath, Tongue of a Connoisseur, Everlasting Vitality. For soak iron pellet is always good, bee mountain stone if you're getting to the end of your gourd consistently, then just whatever preference you have
He’s not extremely difficult, if you have a few hours to spare, i recommend trying to kill him with normal combat instead of trying to cheese him. It’s very satisfying.
I agree fighting bosses 'normally' is far more satisfying, it's why I like to include a breakdown of combos to encourage people to slow down a little and actually pay attention to the boss mechanics etc. That said, some people do really struggle with bosses like this and would basically need to stop playing the game without cheese strats - so there is definitely a place for them
I will be trying this on NG++, but its my first time ever playing a game like this while being an fps player pretty much all my life, so its been a ride getting to know the game. Scorpionlord and this one were a straight nightmare for me, had to look up some guide on them.
I just fought him twice first time i barely got him to like 80% hp 2nd time maybe 38% but that's after 11 gourd uses i can never build up enough qi for a second fan use. I mean ill get him eventually that shield and the fact immobilize don't work just sucks
And half of his fucking moves dont make sense and he is all of a sudden just changing his combos and there is so many times where i do a Dodge but i still get hit and i can see i dodge in time so dont know how i ever can get hit
@@WilstormGaming I eventually killed him. Took me 2 hours of nonstop fighting him. Last fight was really lucky for me. He barely hit me :0. Only at the end when I almost killed him I got to aggressive and almost died 🤣🤣

Yes, and you can use rapid attack like staff spin during/immediately after the fan to proc many crits and basically reset it's cooldown

Slip of the tongue, too much time playing MMOs. I just mean light attacks
