such beautiful knits! Looking forward to seeing more
Hello, your cable knits are gorgeous. For most people a impulse knit equals a hat, nope you jump right into a color-work sweater : ).
I must mention that your earrings are so elegant.
About the stain. I am sorry to say that vinegar sets a stain or color on wool. You add vinegar to wash water if you want to keep a color from running.
However, if you have a place to lay your sweater outdoors overnight, preferably on nights when a heavy dew is expected, it might “lift” the stain. This is how linen is whitened and an traditional way other stubborn stains remove or at least lightened. It will take some patience. It may require several nights. Place the sweater flat on a clean sheet or towel. The dew settles on the sweater over night and then when the sun comes up the dew pulls out some to the offending stain particles when it evaporates. This isn’t 100% guaranteed, but it won’t hurt either.
I look forward to future episodes.
That purple is amazing! a very happy accident. And the color complements you. Great knitting!
Thank you so much
Beautiful knits! Thank you for sharing with us! Hope your allergies get better, it's awful having allergy flare ups! ❤
Person who knitts suvh a nice garments is for sure NOT lazy. Nice job.
Thank you! Not sure why I’m just seeing this 😍🤍🤍
In addition to your mad knitting skills, you apparently have a green thumb too. Those plants look amazing.
Thank you!
You have inspired me to pick up my ufo’s !!!
No need to apologize. Your sweaters are beautiful. Rit dye, has a box that is labeled “stain remover”. Worth a try
The Lumme is gorgeous
Thank you! It’s one of the knits I’m most proud of ☺️
If ur sleeves are too long just undo the cast off, frog till it’s short enough and cast off again instead of giving it away
your knits and wips are so lovely - your cabling looks incredible.
Thank you!
Stunning knits!! My gosh, I haven’t watched a knitting podcast in years and I’m so happy I found yours 😊
Thanks so much for watching!
Your knits are stunning!! I love all those cables. It's gorgeous!
I hope you feel better soon!
I came upon your video, this morning and was very pleased to listen to you. I am a 1X/2X size and am very interested in your knits and experiences with your projects. For the stains, hydrogen peroxide can remove protein and plant-based stains. Just pour the peroxide directly on the stain and let it sit for about 5 minutes. I usually fill the bottle cap with the peroxide and then pour the cap contents onto the stain. You might have to do this more than once.
Thank you so much. I’ll definitely try it
Great podcast! Your cables are 🔥 🔥🔥
Your work is excellent! You must knit very fast, the short amount of time you said it took to do the colorwork on that sweater, I was stunned.
Thanks so much for watching!
I love the colourwork sweater, so pretty.
Thank you
Fabulous podcast. You and especially your knits are so beautiful
Thank you!
Just found your channel and binged all 3 videos. Your knits are beautiful! Looking forward to more episodes of your podcast. Thanks for sharing!
Your sweaters are amazing!
my flatmate swears on using laundry detergent and water + salt on stains, and lets the garment sit for a while before washing it off - fingers crossed you'll be able to remove it!
my sister is the best knitter
Lumme you would pronounce LUMinous MEsmerize, but tbh doesn't really matter. 😊 bautiful knits. ❤
Just found your channel and am enjoying watching you discuss your projects. Many thanks from Kettering in England
Thanks for watching!
Omg i love your Lumme sweater by Sari! Now i want to knit one! You must knit really fast, or all the time! I wish i could get sweaters done so fast! Sorry you arent feeling well! I hope you feel better soon! Girl, all of your sweaters are so beautiful! I cant wait for the next podcast!
The sweater you’re wearing is so pretty! 😍
Thank you!
I love your Lumme!
thank you
Pretty pullover! To get the stain out you need to determine what it is. But vinegar is used to set dyes, so I wouldn't expect that to get anything out. Have you tried soaking it in some lukewarm water and just a regular hair conditioner? I'd try that as a gentle solution first before going to anything more harsh. Good luck!
It's a very bad year for allergies. I hope you get better soon. Your knits are gorgeous. Thanks so much for putting the links below the video!
Hi Joyin, thank you for sharing. I'm the exact same way with buying yarn. I only ever get some if I have a project in mind, my stash is only leftovers, some gifted skeins and yarn for projects that I haven't started yet. I don't understand how people can spend hundreds of dollars on yarn they don't even know what to do with. When I start a new project, I start by picking a pattern, not by picking a yarn. I love that I can then choose from all the yarn in the world for that pattern and not only from what I have in stash.
Take care and happy knitting!
Thanks for watching!
To add more colors to your colorwork sweaters try using that oatmeal yarn and for the 2nd yarn use a multi colored variegated yarn and let the yarn do all of the color changing work for you. Your sweaters are so pretty.
You could do Swedish Embroidery (duplicate stitch) with the yarn that you used in the sweater. To cover the stained areas. I also use the Fisherman's wool in Ecru as well as the medium light gray called Oatmeal and the natural dark brown. The Ecru one is worsted weight but the dark brown is closer to dk weight.
What I do to make sure that a sweater is going to fit me in the way that I like is take a sweater that I have that fits I turn it inside out and use it as the pattern for what I am knitting.
I love a good green and the Silvia pattern looks gorgeous. I'm sure you'll be able to work it out even if the instructions aren't as specific as some others. Keen to see it in progress.
I love cables but haven't knit them for ages so I'm enjoying watching your amazing knits!
I think the yarn grew because it is so heavy. You can rip back the sleeves and reknit the cuff.
That’s true. I’ve decided to give the sweater away because I don’t think I would ever wear it.
Oh my goodness! That colorwork is gorgeous! 😮❤
Lovely sweaters. You’re tempting me to cast on a sweater instead of the summer knits I have planned 😅
The cable knits you make are so gorgeous. Hope your allergies lessen soon. It’s been a bad year for them.
Thank you. I do feel slightly better
Your knitting is inspiring me so much for cable knits! Can't wait to see your summer knits!
My allergies have also been driving me nuts. So glad to have found a new channel to watch! Your work is beautiful
Thank you!
Your cabling is beautiful! Thank you for this episode!
Thanks for watching!
Your sweaters are beautiful! You've inspired me to knit a Lumme- Both of yours are gorgeous!
You should make one!
Allergies are bad this year. Hope you’re feeling better.
Fishermen’s wool picks up dye easy. I would suggest an over dye to hide the spots without pulling the lanolin (dawn or scour power). I’m also a 2x, so you have inspired me with the cables.
Lovely episode again! Your cable knits are so inspiring, I've never tried cables before but I'm really itching to start a cabled sweater after watching this video :D
You totally should!
So frustrating about the 2XL running so large on you. The designer should sort out what the issue is - whether your gauge was off, or whether her stitch counts are off. Either way, it's lovely.
Thanks so much for watching
i think that the fact that the sweater is ''ribbed'', with prul stitches between the cables may be the reason the sweater grew because the prul stitches probably grew open with blocking@@toksknits
