I’m knitting a garter Marler cardigan for myself, and a hooded baby sweater for my grandson. I enjoyed spending time with you today.😊

I so appreciate your focus on normalizing long-term making. Looking at projects in this way supports my as I think about mindful acquisition and thoughtful making. The wrap is lovely and the sweater will be so worth all of your time and efforts. The fabric looks beautiful. Thank you for your welcoming presence.

I just discovered your podcast and it was so smoothing. I am knitting a massive cardigan for a peer and feel slight guilt that it is taking me longer to make. Your reminder was needed today. I have to remember the worth of bringing someone joy with this sweater. Have a lovely day and I look forward to your next episode.

Your opening shots, where you are knitting, and wearing THE CARDIGAN that is the backdrop to your knitting. That is such a perfect image, and such a perfect sweater. I'm also enjoying the community and support in the Discord group. IG's changes which means I see their "suggested posts" and reels, and not the people I follow and with whom I want to communicate, has me on an extended IG vacation. I feel so much more centered and so much less distracted and distractible since I've stopped looking at my feed. I'm enjoying the conversations and the group's focus on our making and our exploring the fiber worlds together. And I'm very glad that you are there. Thanks for the long term project encouragement. I'm hoping my desire to wear my endless sweater will return and overcome the being totally bored with knitting it part of me! I also liked your format of bits of conversation, à la the Not Quite Enough Yarn podcast, joined together. harpingJanet

This format is engaging and enjoyable. I thought I had been listening for much longer than 24 minutes. The way you spliced a little of this and a bit of that was comfortable because it is definitely how I fit my assorted making into daily life. When I choose myself for 10 minutes here, 15 there and get a lot done over the course of a few months. So, I appreciate the variety you offered. I also like that you speak on peace of mind associated with making. I think sometimes because you are on public view there is pressure to have finished items. Speaking about why you let things rest was a nice touch.

I am adding length to a sweater that I finished almost two years ago for my then 3 year old. He is now 5 and wanted to wear this sweater again. The sleeves were way to short... It is a very rewarding project, even though it is not something I love to do. I want to learn to mend and adjust things more often, to make them last longer. You have been an inspiration for me in this endeavour. All the best from the Netherlands, Nanja

I really enjoyed your interview with Dr. Hobbs! I’m currently knitting the Traveler Cardigan by Ozetta using the Manchelopis yarn. It’s a beautiful breed (Manchega), but it’s spun into plates and is like knitting with two strands of roving. So this is a slow knitting project because I really have to pay attention to my knitting technique and tension. Not to mention I’m on sleeve island. I like the new format… thanks for sharing.

I love when you ask what we are working on it's so nice to read through what folks have on the go! I'm making a scrappy granny stripe blanket in the hopes of taking it camping in the spring! Inspired by the blanket you brought with you to your backyard camping adventure!
I'm not a monogamous maker so I enjoy bouncing between the projects that call to me ☺️ are other folks in the same boat or more monogamous with their making?

I am so happy I found you! You are a beautiful young lady, you have a very handsome husband, and your voice is so soothing. And I really enjoy your attitude towards knitting. I am 77 years old and live on the west coast of Canada, just 5 minutes from the U.S. border and have been knitting for about 67 years. I am currently working on a sweater that I had almost completed only to try it on and find it to small as my Guage changed for some reason. A first for me but since I enjoy knitting and love the yarn, I am happy to try this again! I look forward to your next visit.

always so nice to see how your projects are coming along, Marce! i always want to enjoy a project but knit through it so it can be worn or gifted, recently i slowed myself down while knitting myself a cardigan, sat it down while i knit small gifts for Christmas and a birthday sweater for my Grand daughter, just enough time off to come back and pick up all those button band and collar stitches and now i can enjoy the making of it and know it will be done soon, but i don't need to rush, like you like to say, mindful making! thanks for sharing with us, loved the hubby cameo!! ♥

23:59 I enjoy spending time here with you, seeing your work and hearing your understanding of what we are about as we knit and spin. I just completed a pair of socks which were my January project.
I then cast on for February’s pair with some self striping yarn which has been in a drawer for years. Do you ever find color combinations hideous? I will continue since I sometimes am surprised as time goes by. Hopefully that will happen.

I finished all my December knitting in December. I'm currently working on two projects I cast on at the beginning of January - both with Festive sets, always have socks on the needles, and will shortly be casting on a cable cardigan that a friend and I are both knitting. I have several long-term WIPs and am hoping to finish one per quarter, but no pressure on myself. Finally, I have a LOT of shawls and wraps that really need to be blocked.

February is my “finish all the WIPs and UFOs” month. I find ALL the languishing projects around the house and work on getting then completed. It is amazing how many can pile up, most of them probably just needing ends woven in and blocking 😂.
E Spinners are a blast! I got one to use just for plying but I actually use it quite often

I have been finishing projects as I need the supplies in them. Finished a shawl because I needed the needles and I hadn't worked on it since April of last year. Ripped out a crochet shawl because I wanted to add it to the sweater I'm currently making with the needles I needed. I also finished a crochet shawl/blanket because it was cold in my apartment.

I am currently knitting the Hinterland sweater by Jennifer Steingass using Berroco Ultra Alpaca tonal in purple as the MC and an unknown teal colored merino blend that was gifted to me as the CC. I purchased the Berroco yarn several years ago and I am so glad to be using it finally. Now that I am knitting it up, I am realizing that this particular yarn has a lot of guard hairs still in it. I am hoping and praying that I will be able to wear the sweater once it is finished. I have become more accustomed to the more rustic wools since learning to knit but I still have a hard time with the guard hairs. Time will tell. I started the sweater in early January and I am just over halfway finished with the yoke. I think I might be on track to finish it by the end of March. 😊

Hi Marci! I finished the step by step sweater since the holidays, it is very simple and knit at a big gauge so it flew off my needles. It’s quite cold here right now, around -25C 🙊, so I am thrilled to have it 🤗🤗 I also finished the Boho texture collage shawl by Annie Lupton. I really enjoyed that project and am enjoying wearing it a ton. Our daughter is expecting so I made 2 pairs of tiny socks for our little baby coming this summer too. I am now knitting socks patiently waiting for wool to come in for my next projects 🤗👌 Happy knitting 😘

Oooh, it's lovely. funny, I thought of Denise when you pulled it out - it's so very close to her style but not quite - so looking at the project brings thoughts of her but she totally captured you in her choices of colors. Only good friends can do such a thing. I am on a stash busting project. Years ago, I bought 2 GIANT balls of acrylic for a project and then life got in the way and after it sat for a few seasons, I frogged it. Now one at a time, plain white acrylic hats are being created. I donated 6 last week and started another, then got a bug in my ear to make those twisted headbands I didn't know they were double knit, but now I'm convincing my hands to slip every other stitch purlwise when I've been knitting 1x1 for months! LOL, it will be fine. Lots of folks come out here to Joshua Tree thinking it's desert but forgetting that the elevation makes it COLD so the thrift stores that support charities I admire are getting hats and now headbands and I'm improving my tension. WINNING. Your grey sweater is lovely. as is your perspective on the pauses and how knitworthy YOU are! Good to see you Marce - I very much enjoy your videos.

You said it right about Denise and how well our color palettes collide :-) She's the best! Sounds like you're doing some great work over there; how cool to be able to make a modification to something you've done a lot and then keep going in a new way!

I have cast on a pair of socks and plan to use up the little scrap balls of wool at the bottom of my yarn bin . .. you are helping me do this and not be stressed about whether every colour will work perfectly with the next, or how thick the stripes should be and just let it come off my needles on a whim. I'm going to try and enjoy the process and at the end will have a pair of fun socks to wear and keep my own or someone else's feet warm. All the best from Nova Scotia, Canada. I finally decided on the pattern for my friends wedding blanket and I'm so happy I didn't go with my first two choices, but also trusted my instincts that something wasn't quite right for them.
Windy Day Blanket by Purl SoHo. I'm ignoring their colour placements and doing my own thing, making it intentional but also intuitive.
I'm knitting 2 of the throw sizes and grafting them together.
Its definitely slow knitting but I'm hoping to be finished finished finished by their wedding, late summer.

I LOVE podcast day with you. You make my day so Lovely. I also love the conversations you create. I have a vest that I started over a year ago that is for my client. It is not hard it uses white buffalo wool & I am procrastinating on it. I need to push through. It is for someone who will cherish it but.... the joy is not there. I am working on 2 sweaters. Laia by Isabelle Kraemer. It has some lace that I need to go slow on because I tend to mess it up. I am also making the Longline Cardigan that I have had kitted for several years by Joji Locatelli. I usually don't have 2 sweaters & a vest going but I felt okay with this so I had something easier to knit on while I have the work. My goal is to work on stash both in my yarn, fibre & patterns. I have all my yarn on Ravelry. I would also like to be making with my homespun. I have some & have not made anything with it for years. In the last few years I have being thinking about my making & why I make. It is not to produce many things it is something that soothes my soul & mind. At one point I wanted to go fast but then anxiety crept in. For me it is a slow journey that needs to fill me up & helps let go of anxiety, depression, etc. Thank you for being in this place. You make my day better.

Thank you for a beautiful episode! It was interesting to watch as you knit Continental on your sweater and English on your wrap. I have found it difficult to Purl Continental and maintain tension. I’m working on that 😄. I’m currently working on my first pullover for myself. I purchased the yarn on sale at Michael’s because my excuse had been that I did not want to purchase a sweater’s quantity of “good” yarn to practice. With this, even if I don’t get the sizing just right, it will be an inexpensive learning experience. Over the years I’ve made cowls, shawls, socks and dolls, but never something that I had to be concerned about gauge in order to wear. I’m making the 3/4 Length Sleeve Classic Pullover pattern from Lion Brand. If it doesn’t fit, I’ll give it away🤷🏽‍♀️

Wow, I really love your idea of long-term making. I’ve never thought of approaching projects this way but now I’m excited to cast something on and let it come into being over time. Thank you, Marceline!

I completed two projects…the Guernsey wrap and the Dustland shawl. I have been knitting them for over a year or two. Who’s counting?🥳🥳

Hi Marce, love the new format and really anything you do your channel. just noticed that you knit continental and conventional(?) I only knit continental but would love to try color work and not sure where to start. Any suggestions?

I do knit continental quite often, but I have started knitting English when I feel the fabric or pattern stitches would benefit (my English knitting has a firmer gauge and it's very soothing when I'm doing a lot of knit stitches). I think some good colorwork patterns can be found from Tin Can Knits and I also love simple two color patterns like the Lineate hat by BlueBee Studio.

Lovely to see you and catch up with your making today! I loved the idea of a group of friends meeting together to share crafty interests and have a go at something different! Such a fun way to spend some time! I bet we shall hear you have purchased an e-wheel sometime soon 🤣 I’m going to listen to your interview now which I’m sure I shall enjoy! Take care and thank you for a lovely podcast (and for including your gorgeous husband!) x
