I am Newport born and bred - your original video brought back very many memories, seeing places such as Scarlets Cafe and Carousel Amusements in the background. It's the Newport I remembered. I only moved to Cardiff, but rarely returned home until around the time you made this video and I found it so depressing. However, recently I re-visited now that the new Friars Walk is open and things are much improved!
I notice 14 years since I been coming to Newport from a film student that how dramatically Newport has changed. Many from the major shop from M&S, Burton. Hopefully with the development of the multiplex to a shopping centre might change that.
